I think you should widen your search to include the Yonex E-Zone Steel FW. I have a 13* with a Matrix Altus high launch shaft and it is a cannon! Beautiful shape and feel. Super value at a couple of hundred dollars (head only) from the TSG Proshop. I don't want to disparage JBeam but their driver head required some serious swingspeed to get the best out of it. Not sure if the FW would be the same? Pete

Some of the JDM heads (ie the JBeam 425 Tour) have a deeper hosel length (at least 1/2") than others. ie The club plays a bit shorter and the shaft a bit stiffer! This is to give the Tour standard player more control! You wish to consider this as an option as it will make your S flex FEX play more like an SX with out altering the shaft! Pete

Hi all, recently read Tario's quick review of the new (Dunlop) Srixon Z-TX Tour P-420 driver. It looks packed with technology and playability. It got me thinking that although I 'get' JDM over OEM product, why do we tend to concentrate (on this forum) with the smaller niche producers over the larger scale JDM companies? I play a JBeam driver and Muira irons and, to be honest, have never considered a driver from a 'Big' JDM company. We seem to rave about JBeam, Crazy, Ryoma, Muira etc despite the fact that the large companies like Dunlop and Bridgestone have huge developmental budgets to throw at R & D (as well as quality control). How can JBeam or Ryoma compete against that I ask? Are we missing something or do the small club companies have a different focus/way of development that the large companies are incapable of doing? Any thoughts? Pete

Hi All, it has been out for a while now. The shape is great, the quality ok but not great. What is the playing verdict? Low spin screamer or inconsistent. How does it rate compared to other JDM stars (Ryoma, JBeam etc) Regards, Pete BTW the Steel FW is a (off the radar) star. Best looking FW bar none in my opinion.
