  1. Hi all, Last week my father ordered me a set of yururi flat back blades in satin with the pro modus3 shafts from TSG, I should be receiving them in the next few days, I just wanna start out by saying that the service he received from Tario has been excellent, my father is someone who is nearly impossible to satisfy, he is a very successful man and when he does business with a company he expects to be treated a certain way, I would say about 90 percent of the time he winds up unhappy for one reason or another, but he is extremely happy with the service he has received so far from Tario, just about every email he sent was answered very quickly, he also requested that the order arrive as close to my birthday (august 25th) as possible, even though Tario told him there was a holiday in Japan the order shipped out quicker than either me or my father thought would be possible. My father offered to order me a few more things from TSG, and I am certain that would not have been the case if he wast so happy with the service. So for the next order I'm going to put together pretty much a new bag, it's going to be another set of irons, a driver, and 3 wedges, I would really like some help deciding on which wedges and driver to go with. I'm between 2 drivers initially, the Akira k109, and the Yonex ezone type 380, I saw the Akira review on the blog, and they also reviewed the M209 which I believe I like better than the K109, but it isn't listed in the proshop, so I'm assuming it isn't available. I prefer smaller headed drivers, for some reason I just hit them better, as soon as I play with a larger oversized head, my contact gets very inconsistent, I honestly think it's more mental than anything else. The akira(s) look amazing and I'm really interested, I'm assuming they are slightly longer than the yonex, I would be interested to know what people think. And I really like the size of the yonex, and it seems like an amazing value for 375.00. I could really use some help deciding. Shaft wise, i'm in between a few, I'm not going to go with the muzik or crazy shafts for this driver, the most Im looking to pay for the shaft is 575.00, I prefer a slightly heavier shaft in a stiff flex, as soon as the weight of the shaft gets too low my swing is a mess, even if I go to a stiffer flex. Currently i'm playing a 74 gram shaft, and that weight has been quite good to me. Here is what I'm considering shaft wise, again, I really, really would appreciate any help anyone could offer in choosing a shaft. Fujikura Motore Speeder VT Graphite design tour AD, whichever model Ishikawa plays, not sure if it's DI or DJ(only for Yonex) Mitsubishi Fubuki Alpha Quadra Composite Techno Fire Express I really like the Mitsubishi tour prototype griffin, but at a mid 50g weight I think it would be way to light Graphite Desighn Tour AD 9003 Now on to wedges, I'm pretty particular about my wedges, there are some that I'll really love, and others that I'll really hate and play poorly with, wedges are really the only clubs in my bag that can affect my score all that much based on which ones I'm playing with. I generally go with 52, 56, 60 in most bags, though I've been gaming a 59 lately and like it, I'm even thinking of going 54(or 53), and 58 to eliminate some guess work. I would prefer to stick with 1 model of wedge in all lofts to keep the feel the same, but I'll also consider going with 2 of one model, and one of another if people really seem to recommend it. I'm really liking what I'm seeing as far as the Yururi wedges, and they seem to be a great value, so ive thought a lot about the Yururis, here is what I'm considering. Yururi Tour Wedge Yururi Tour Seida Rupas Wedge Fourteen MT28 V5 Wedge Also would like to know about the Yururi chili wedges, I'm kinda on the fence about them weather I like them or not Really like the Sky Dream Jump Pro TB wegde, but I don't like the lofts available Yonex EZONE Wedge Miura MB 5000W Kyoei Zestaim IO grind Sorry for the extra long post, I really would appreciate any help that anyone can give me making some choices, my father isn't going to place this order until I get a chance to play the Yururi flat backs because I want to see how I feel about the pro modus3 shaft before I decide how I'm going to shaft the irons I'm going to get with the driver and wedges. Thank you for taking the time to read this super long post. J
  2. Thank you very much, I really appreciate the input, its definitely helped me make a choice. I've had simillar results with DG's lately, after playing KBS, any blade I try with the DG's feels terrible, I cant imagine the difference between the DG's and Nippons which from everything ive heard have a really nice, soft feel. I really like the look of the Yururi in satin, particularly the shape of the muscle, i cant wait to receive them, I have a feeling I'm really going to love this set. I think the next up is going to be a Miura driving iron, an Epon AF152 driver with either a Crazy Nero, or a Crazy Black shaft(I really, really like the crazy shafts and from what i hear they play as well as they look), a Yururi Rupas wedge, and possibly a Gold's Factory putter(although i might aslo be interested in having one of the Camerons I currently own re done by Gold's).
  3. Supo67, The veil has certainly been lifted, thats a great way to put it, even just visually, all of the JDM products I've seen just seem to be higher quality than the stuff thats mass marketed here in the US, and from my limited experience with the Miuras, and from what I've read, the level of craftsmanship is just plain and simple better, I mean to each his own, but I cannot see any logical reason not to buy a product that is made with more precision and attention to detail, ive honestly owned every single club geared towards better players from the larger manufacturers here in the states from the past few years, alot are great clubs, ive done really well with mizuno, but there is nothing that jumps out at me the way that the JDM clubs have, there seems to be a certain art, and beauty to alot of the clubs ive seen so far, just something special that ive never found in the clubs ive owned before that are turned out of a factory wholesale, and after playing the Miuras, ive realized that they perform even better than they look... So what your saying is that I shouldnt go for the Yururi because the 5003 MB will play simillar to my baby blades? if thats the case I would definitely go for the Yururi, i honestly think the yururi is the best looking club ive seen so far, so thats a plus, this is going to be my workhorse set, I play just about everyday, and this is a set thast going to rotate with the baby blades, but ill be playing these slightly more so than the 1957's. Im looking for a tiny bit more ease of play than the baby blades, and I always want the softest feel available, thats something thats always very important to me, I'm really leaning towards shafting them with either the Pro Modus3, or after reading your post, the super peening orange, would love to know how the super peening orange compares to the pro modus3 in feel(which has a softer feel?), ball flight, spin, and distance. Would also like to know how both the Super peening orange and the pro modus3 compare to the KBS tour, and Tru Temper Dynamic Gold in the areas I just mentioned. Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. Jay
  4. Hello Everyone, New to the forum, I've been reading a couple of topics for the past few days, and decided to join. I'm also very new to JDM and custom japanese golf clubs, about three weeks ago I stumbled across a review of the Miura tourney blade, and immediately I fell in love. Ive been playing golf since i was 11 years old(in my 20's now) and for the past few years Ive bought just about every "players" club from the major manufacturers here in the US(titleist, mizuno, callawa, etc.), various Mizuno blades have been my gamers usually. As soon as I read the review on the Miura blades I did some serious digging and found a whole world of golf clubs and clubmakers that I never knew existed, and everytime I would find something new I would just fall in love all over agian, now I honestly think 90% of the clubs and equipment I buy from now on will be JDM or US models from JDM companies, they just appeal to me sooo much more than anything I have ever seen before. I ordered a set of Miura 1957 baby blades 3-PW, 2 1957 wedges(K and C grinds), 3-5 iron MC102, and a KM 350 putter, I recieved the baby blades the K grind wedge, and the MC102's two days ago, and they are the most fantastic clubs I've ever played, I get excited everytime I swing them, it's like a drug, I just got my first taste, and I want more, lol. So about a week ago I found Tour Spec, and they just seem to have everything I'm looking for, not just clubs and equipment, but the forums as well, theyre a really great source of information, and can help me out alot, I really dont join many web sites, I'm not really a computer person, but I felt like it was a good idea to sign up here. I've had sensory overload going on for the past few days, as there are just soooo many things I want, and I just dont know where to start lol. I'm pretty much ready to place my first order with Tour Spec, and ive narrowed it down to 2 sets of irons, the Yururi 2010 Raw Flat Back Blade in satin finish, or the Miura MB-5003 Blade, I'm not going to ask which one is better, since from my experience, that really comes down to personal preference, but I would really like to compare these two clubs to see which one I'm going to order(honestly I'll probly wind up getting both, but I want to figure out which one I'm going to order 1st), here are some questions I would really like to know the answers to, I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out. which of these two, shafted the same. would have higher trajectory? which would have a lower? which, shafted the same, would spin more? less? which is more forgiving?less?(I realize neither will be very forgiving) which would be more "workable"? which has a softer feel?(again, shafted the same) which would be more playable? anything else anyone could add that I might not have mentioned? whichever i choose, Im thinking of shafting it with either the Nippon Pro Modus3, Nippon super peening red or orange, or 1050GH, im leaning towards the pro modus3, I would like to know how each of these compares in feel, trajectory, distance, and spin to the KBS tour, and the True Temper Dynamic Gold. Lately I've been playing the KBS tour in a lot of my irons, Ive played the dynamic gold alot in the past. I really like the Nippon shafts, they seem really great, and alot of posters on here seem to like them, there really is nowhere around me that I could demo them, and I would really like to see how they compare to shafts ive been playing. Sorry about the super long post, I would really appreciate any feedback anyone could give me, it would help out alot. Thank you. Jay
