  1. wow. and i was really eyeing that piretti CU that tae posted in the original post. sounds like they did exactly that with those piretti irons too.
  2. I was just looking at that. A bit expensive for a laser you can get at the dollar store if u already have the tip weight.
  3. 9 gr shaft weight differences = 1 swing weight point Jeff you might be right. I'm new to building woods.
  4. Instead of spine aligning, you want FLO - flat line oscillation. Look it up on YouTube. You basically need a stable vice and drill chuck (weight). Pretty simple. Unfortunately for me I don't have a stable work bench with a stable vice yet that doesn't wobble. Hopefully I get this fixed soon. I get all my stuff from golfworks. Epoxy and other golf specific parts - weights, ferrules, swing weight balance, club ruler. They have like a club builder starter package. Get a bunch of different size ferrules. I bought only 355 size but now getting into woods and need 335 and 350. Heat gun and air compressor from harbor freight or HD. Look out for coupons. Heat gun for graphite and steel shaft removal. You can also get a propane torch for steel shaft removal (much faster). A good pipe cutter to cut steel shafts. Simple saw and mitre box for cutting graphite or you could get a chop saw. You need a hook blade for grip removal. Sand paper for tip prepping. You can get fancy and get the fancy belt sander. I just use a dremel with the sander attachment. Blue painter tape and black marker. Have a power drill and get the wire brush hosel cleaner (from gold works or eBay). Get a few of them. You should clean out the hosels right after u pull the heads while the epoxy is hot and soft.
  5. Mine has speeder 757x in it. Built to 44.5". Orig headweight was 193 or 194g. I had to add 8 or 10g tip weight. I forgot to write this all down. It's built to around d0-d1 now. I originally was going to extend it to 45" and then get d3, I just need to go to the store or order an extension. If you're putting in a 661 then I think BC the shaft is about 10g lighter you may need even more weight than I tried. ATM i can't remember the effect on swing weight from shaft weight difference... Just fyi. If you have a good builder he will figure it out.

if you like these Vice balls you might want to stock up. Looks like lawsuit has been filed by Titleist/Achushnet - http://thegolfnewsnet.com/golfnewsnetteam/2015/04/10/titleist-parent-suing-independent-ball-makers-dimple-pattern-10711/
  7. Hahaha you're missing a t388 headcover? Me too but I'll just find one of them funny covers or something.
  8. U play 125 rounds a year?! Wowowow that's a lot of golf.
  9. hahah i fixed the missing plug with a small cutout of a plastic playdoh cap. :)
  10. hot melt will change the sound and feel. i did this to an epon zero. i have two of these drivers and there's definitely a difference. my hotmelted zero has a "knock" sound. i don't think i want to do that to my t388 as I like the sound it has.
  11. u can go through the hosel. there's a plug that can be removed and then you can get into the t388 head. i know bc the head I just got was missing the plug.
  12. i know a local guy to us who can do it (not me). it'll change the sound and feel though.
  13. Yea i dont get this either. Anything over 45" is getting out of hand. I get longer length may give u longer distance but it's getting harder to control.
  14. Hmmm didnt think about that tip weight causing a draw. I didn't want hotmelt. I guess we will see. Draw will be good bc block right is my miss. I definitely need a fw finder. Driving is the worst part of my game. im a bomb and gouge type player.
  15. The t388 head i just got was 194g. I'm not sure of hosel size but i used a .335 speeder 757 pull and it was loose. I added a small wrap of fiberglass mesh drywall tape to the tip and epoxied it in. I also added 10g tip weight to bring sw up. It currently sw in at about d0 at 44.5". I need to add a 1/2" extension and this will bring it up to d3. All drying now so ill find out if this all worked soon!
  16. i think they're cheap enough now to try it if you haven't already. :) at least your not spending $1k blind.
  17. I'm on my second t388. had it before with stock shaft, which was too soft and instead of reshafting it i sold it. now that I know how to pull and reshaft myself, i'm getting another one back and rebuilding one that'll probably fit better. it's a good head!
  18. I've hit the stock stiff. It was too soft for my liking. I'm about 110mph driver swing, and play X in my irons and woods. So if you normally play X, I think you'll want a stiffer shaft than that stock Stiff.
  19. Sounds like a few TSG'ers have a T.388 with an SD shaft! If one is locking in a SD shaft, this head must be the bees knees. To OP: I just found a used T.388 head recently myself via WTB forum here. I'll be putting in a 757X in (only because I have an extra shaft sitting in the garage doing nothing). You can definitely get this head and put a decent shaft in for $700.
  20. i've read some people have used hairspray to get some additional sticky on the inside of the grip.

you just love it because there's a gun on the box.
  22. Aie compressor from harbour freight. I think on sale u can get it for $60-80. Just blue painter tapes. Been doing this on all my clubs. No twisting at all and none have come loose. Taking off is easier than getting them on. I don't use any other special tools. Just make sure u don't use too much psi to start and don't hold down the air open. Use quick bursts. A little solvent to get them on too. Now I don't mind buying the fancy superstroke grips or expensive no1's.
  23. Tae is that yours? How does it feel with the copper insert?
  24. Like... Whoa.
