Hey, Stew, could you or anybody talk about what those Crazy's are like? Agree they sure look special.

Easiest Driver, Fairway Wood and Hybrid to hit straight, period.
The T388 is definitely in the mix -- I thought you had hit that. With it you're talking screaming line drives, straight as a missile, huge roll out. And the XV fwy woods are mini-T388's. Same penetrating monster line drives. For me, the Blackout has a higher launch, which gives me that option, too, depending on wind, etc. And it's the first thing that has even budged me away from the T388...

Really can't answer that, Mob. I've never hit the reg 435. And I'm a feel guy, not a numbers guy. All I know is the Blackout is a bomber that flies long and straight, and I believe the milling on the face gives me a feel right up to my hands that I haven't experienced with a driver before.

2014 Yamaha MB's. They're as precise as they look, and for me, they look like polished razors.

JBeam Blackout 435 is the straightest driver I've ever hit. The milling on the face seems to reduce spin enough to make it so.

A- grind blades... Review
Thanks for that review, Stew. These look really interesting to me, too. PS. Glad you're feeling better.

Is there an advantage to using wedge specific shafts (that match weight & ball flight to your iron shafts) over just using your iron shafts?
I tried the KBS High Rev. For me, it didn't have the touch I like, and the Spinner is more spin that's more controllable.

Agree on the NSPro WV shafts. I go back and forth on preferring those and the DG Spinner. The WV does launch lower. The only shaft I currently match to my iron shafts is an MCI in my 46-pitching wedge.

JBEAM 435 Black Out Driver In Hand Pics!
Oh yeah, re: the sound, I had a discussion with Chris about this before going for the Blackout. I'd read a lot of the posts about a certain harshness of sound and/or feel from JBeam's, and it's what held me off on them for the most part. But Chris suggested I find out for myself and if I didn't like it, we could go for the new foaming option he's offering. But like Chris, I don't find the sound off putting at all. It IS a little higher pitched than the T388, which for me, has the nicest soft thwack sound I've ever heard coming off a driver head, but as I said, it's nothing extreme. And it may be the extra milling pattern on the face of the Blackout, but the impact is actually kind of soft. I can feel the ball on the face and it feels workable in a different way than I'm used to with a driver. The smaller head size keeps it closer to the T388 in looks for me at address, and I have to say, the way it sets up is just as cool and confidence inspiring. So far, it's been point and shoot and then watch 'em fly. Was hard for me to get through the weekend after hitting it last Friday, I was so itchy to get it back in my hands. Big smiles again yesterday (from me and the others in my foursome...). No sound issues at all.

JBEAM 435 Black Out Driver In Hand Pics!
I put a Hiskei Wave shaft in first, which I always do so I have the same starting point with any new head. This is an unusual light weight carbon shaft made in Japan for a South Korean company and passed on to me by a clubmaker I've used, John Muir. It has multiple waves, or bubbles, about 8 inches from the end of the shaft, and it's one of the smoothest long distance shafts I've ever tried. I just may leave it in for a while, the combo is performing so well, but there is also the Messenger 1st sitting in my backup T388 that I may pull and give a shot. The T in the corner is broken hearted as it is, so I haven't had the nerve to think about pulling that 7D... (yet...)... (<g>)

This thing is the absolute bomb! From my first swing, the longest, straightest drives I've ever hit. And consistently, monstrously long with a smooth 80% swing. My guess is the extra milling on the face does indeed make for something special. I had heard about JBeam's from a lot of folks here, but had never tried one. The looks of this baby caught my eye though, and it's the first driver since the T388 to win my affection. The trajectory is higher than the T388, giving me a different option on calm days. (Fun hitting the ball up into the sky again, too.) The T388 is staring at me from the corner like a jealous lover, but this baby is so good I've decided to give the T a rest.

Totally agree, Ash. I'm even fond of the grip and the non-stepped shaft.
