    Great irons, GLWS!
  2. Did anyone ever grab plated BOLDs? How did they perform? Are they still available?
  3. mpbachman replied to bk24bk's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Chris's post should be pinned somehow as that are the perfect questions to ask when you are trying to select a wedge :)
  4. Continued warm wishes on your recovery and GLWS!
  5. There is also another company that does refinishing: http://www.continentalgolf.net/ Less fancy and more straight forward it seems and also got good reviews from other sites
  6. I have had both the 316s and 302s (and I am sure Spoon can chime in too). The 302s are softer and more forgiving than the 316s. The 316s seem to have a slimmer profile (thinner topline and sole) and are more "player-esqe" type CBs than the 302s. I have found both a pleasure to hit and play. The 316s might give slightly (just slightly) more feedback than the 302s. Both have spectacular feel to them, the 316s a tad more firm than the 302s but I would put the 316s maybe in between say the 302s and the MP-64s in terms of softness. That said, I have also owned Baby Blades (the USDM? "1957" version). Those are so amazing when you hit the ball clean and center it is like something out of this world. Hitting the ball clean on those blades also takes a considerable amount of work and obviously, the looks and feel are there but the forgiveness is definitely not ;)
  7. If its between the Miura 501 and the Epon AF-302s, I would jump for the 302s today, tomorrow and everyday that ends in "y". The 302s feel better, are more forgiving, have better turf interaction, distance, etc. Great choice :)

Sounds like a great strategy! Shoot em' straight and enjoy! (we all have that JDM addiction, thus we all continue to support each other in the buying/selling/gossiping of clubs ;)

RL33, good point. The Miura Y-grind has to be one of my favorite wedges of all time and the K is just cool...

Pick up the Crazy Toyoshima's in the BST, they are awesome (52/58 setup).
  11. Thanks Chris!!!! Man, that Modart is just beautiful at address and surprised it is easier to get up than the Ryoma (I actually find the Ryoma great off the tee but harder off the deck, hrmmmmmm, interesting :)
  12. The 503s are long, forgiving and amazing irons. For those days where your 301/302s are not working or you need more carry, these should be bagged. The feel/sound are definitely different but the performance makes up for that.
  13. Awesome, thanks Chris!!!!
  14. Chris, any comparison photos between the Ryoma and Modart Uts yet? Can't wait for this review (since I hit the Modart FW and own the Ryoma Ut ;)
  15. Very nice irons and wedges, GLWS!
  16. I think you might need to close this out and start a new post in the other BST :( (in the Topic Moderation at the bottom of your page, you should see an option to lock the topic). Maybe rename it to something like <title - moved>?
  17. Wrong BST, might want to move to the main forum...

Wow.... The iron heads and those shafts are beautiful!
  19. Got my Modart 19* today. Wow it is a beautiful club. The feel is fantastic. Not metallic at all, not necessarily soft either, just in between perfectly. The ball from the deck gets up and in a hurry (I have a Crazy F80 shafted). It is VERY easy to hit off the deck, I mean, extremely easy, F3 easy. The profile is a tad deeper than the F3 but not as deep as, say, the Epon AF-203. This makes it better off the tee than the Ryoma (was just at a range, so I can't really judge distance with the range rocks but is definitely comparable to most other good fairways I have hit distance-wise). Overall, first impressions, it is beautiful, easy to hit off the deck and great distance-wise off the tee (maybe not the longest but definitely might be one of the best all around performers). This is just after a range session, so this feedback is extremely early on. I will take it to the course this weekend and probably end up picking up a 3W as well (it was that good).
  20. I have one coming in 45.25" and should be able to provide a comparison to the LY01 in the same length. I believe the Longest Yard series was also recommended to play 46" or longer and I have had no issues at all playing it a little shorter (for dispersion purposes). Hopefully the Air will be the same :) Chris, if you think that this shaft should be at minimum 46", we should chat to see if I need to modify my order ;)

The F3 was easily one of the best fairways I have ever hit. I regret selling it. That price is also a steal. I say pull the trigger, you won't regret it. You will also have resale value of the Ryoma in the BST if it doesn't work out.
  22. Love how deep the face is. Is the profile at address really that large?
  23. Loving the overall profile of the Modart. Very excited.
  24. Sold! Thanks TSG! Head is staying local to California! :)
