My 1st Gold's...but definitely not the last!!
Mark, not exactly sure of the weight of my Shimada shaft as it came assembled from GF. During the design process, I specifically asked for a dark/smoked shaft so Chris suggested the Shimada Black shaft, so that's how it was referred to jn the order. I would send him a note directly to find out the exact spec and name to see if it suits your needs. the finish is amazing and really like how it's stepless to give it an overall very smooth and stealthy appearance. Hope you find what you need!

help me build my bag
For wedges, I found the SYard Bolds to be better wedges in wet fluffy conditions as opposed to dry harder ones. The new NiCr Satin finish will hold up nicely too if you're playing in damp conditions frequently. If you like Yururi, those new Tataki's seem to be better all around compared to the Tour/Raw's. My Tours get me in trouble sometimes because of the sharp leading edge and soft feel, especially when its the conditions are wet/soft, but so far, the Tataki's have not led me astray, and most of my golf is played in the early mornings when it's damp out. Good luck on your search, this is going to be fun for you! ;)

Jbeam 425 vs Epon Zero
I posted this reply in the other thread, but seems more appropriate here: never hit the 425, but while the Zero is a huge winner compared to many drivers when it's behaving, when it's not, the mis**t for me is a big wayward block/slice to the right. it's also very tough to get consistent results with this club unless your swing is dialed in, IMO. Unforgiving is really the perfect word to describe overall general experience, but when things are cooking, its amazing.

Get your COPPERS on!!
Finally got around to getting build phase of this project started. I wasn't sure if I wanted to soft step, but just decided to go straight in with the 6 iron and see how it feels first. Initial impressions: By the Beard of Zeus, this thing looks gorgeous! I didn't put the fancy ferrule on yet since I didn't want to waste it in the event that it didn't work great and needed to soft step, but already the head and shaft combo looks exceptional, IMO. At address, its got a great confident look with super minimal offset (if any - offset police, please refer to the pic below and let us know). The feel of these MR23's are devine, really soft and I'm sure the copper just adds to the softness, but seriously, don't think I've ever hit another club quite like it. Those that have hit everything under the sun and these, please let me know if you agree, but these things are definitely classics with their feel. I was a little worried about the reported small sweet spot I've read about on these MR23 CB's, but honestly, they're quite nice and pretty forgiving. Doesn't really seem that small to me as off-center strikes had only minimal distance loss, but I was thinking shanks and all kinds of awfulness if not middled. Mind you it was only 1 range session with about 25 balls hit total, but my fears have definitely been put to rest in the forgiveness department. So far, so good....now to get the rest built =)

My 1st Gold's...but definitely not the last!!
Had a few rounds and some good practice now and she's just getting better and better. perfect balance has really helped the tempo smooth and lag putts are now back in full effect. for awhile, I was leaving things way short, blowing past the hole and missing short putts, but this hasnt been a problem since this got in the bag! feel is sublime... SM490A is spectacular, and not sure if the black boron changes the feel at all but I have to agree with a description Chris used before - it's hard to describe but somewhere between carbon and stainless. not too soft and not too hard with a muted soft click, perfect for me really, so definitely recommend others try, it really has a great feel to it!

Having a baby tomorrow :)
needmoregolf replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearShe's beautiful, Chris, you guys are truly blessed! It's a magical time right now for you, and I'm sure the other dad's who have girls (esp those that have first born daughters) can agree, there is something truly special about that father - daughter bond, and it starts in those early moments in the hospital as you stare at her darling face. It's funny, as men, we spend our whole lives trying to understand the opposite gender, and then by some stroke of pure miracle, we end up having our own and have to somehow try to figure out how to raise and nurture them. Albeit it's intimidating at first, but you get over that deer in headlights moment pretty quick, just about that first time you hold her in your arms. You're right, she's going to be your greatest motivator, and for all the wonderful things that you do to create a great life for her, she will reward you with the love, care and nurture that a good daughter knows so well instinctually. Much like myself, you will likely be a sucker for your daughter more often than not, but that's OK, as she will most certainly be "Daddy's girl" and there is no greater feeling in the world! ;) Enjoy all the great moments to come, buddy!!

needmoregolf replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gearcongrats Chris! it's the best thing that will ever happen to you and yes, your life will change, but for the better!! for these first few weeks/months, just concentrate on enjoying every moment, which seems easy enough in theory, but in practice, no so much as you'll likely be very very tired. this brings me to my 2nd point, rest as much as humanly possible so that you have the energy, clarity and presence of mind to enjoy this magical time and be able to help your wife recuperate as well. I'm not too far removed from this time you're in (2yr old and 3 yr old), and everything the guys have said here is very true. what I find now is that I have to dig down deep and find an inner patience that I didn't think I had before. maybe that's why I turn to golf for that much needed zen!! ;) congrats again and good luck buddy!!

Was I scammed?
I don't think the turbulent history helps the situation any, but there is absolutely no way hutch would tarnish his rep by doing you wrong purposely. hutch is a stand up guy IMO, so I'd give him an honest pass if it were me. perhaps there is something you guys can discuss to make things up for the mistake, but like everyone said, it doesn't need to be in front of all of us.
