You can tell a skilled grinder when...
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I can't imagine how good the blades will look! Those will be a TSG exclusive not even sold in Japan. On the negative, imagine the price... Anyway I got a lot of modart coverage coming soon, just waiting on our meeting in Tochigi later this week before I post it. -

Titleist T-MB Review & First Impressions
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I'm just shocked how soft it felt while still being hollow, very VG3 like imo. -
It would confuse everyone. There is no best material, its the combo of everything, hardness ratings can be manipulated based on who you have them measured by, there is too many secrets in regards to materials. For example people asking for 80T don't know what degree or how many weaves or how long down the length of the material is or the specs or pressure etc.. brands don't release that. Some brands keep torque a secret and materials. 80T is cool but its too brittle, it's not good in certain designs or weights, it relates to torque differently but still people think yum 80T = expensive = best which is not the case at all. While this would help in answering questions it would cause a ton of misinformation and misunderstanding even more than there already is about golf equipment.

Honma 2015 TW727M – TW727VN – TW727V – TW727P
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I went with a combo set V-VN with Custom Black Nickel Finish IB105 graphite shaft with custom matte black paint. On the driver I ordered the 455S with matte black head and matte black ARMRQ8 62 4 Star Shaft They are still making it. I will have in hand photos of every new Honma product and initial feedback by the end of this month. -
Having lunch with Yusuke today actually, if you guys have questions before then I'm happy to pass them along. We will be covering the entire brand shortly.

Seven wedges....any feedback on these??
TourSpecGolfer replied to tugglej93's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Just released sir, sold a bunch almost gone as we only produced 30pcs in total. Not trying to build a big brand just something unique and special for our members. There are 2 types: 1. Satin Finish w/Blast Art Logo 2. Custom Any TSG Finish w/ no Blast Art Logo Both are non conforming. Some are asking if SS400 is stainless, it's not it's Forged carbon just measured differently it's like S20C in feel but slightly more spin when tested. -
TSG is Giving Away a Set of SEVEN Cavity Blades!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
2 different types of clubs, the similarity is they are both nice and soft feeling Other than that these Seven CB's are very blade like, while the ONOFF's are semi mid sized. The Seven is traditional lofts with a 47* PW while the ONOFF is strong lofts. Thanks for entering everyone! -
Seven is fully owned and designed by TSG, I'll post a blog this week going into detail our motivations behind starting this.

TSG is Giving Away a Set of SEVEN Cavity Blades!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Forget that, it's world wide as usual! -
It's also available conforming or non conforming.

RomaRo's new flagship driver has mid spin, high launch with a forged cup face, it's designed with a focus on distance where the Type R series is geared to players who require less spin. I think I may need to bring launch down so I'll be testing it in 9.5 first with the standard shaft, looks good though and RomaRo has been working on this one for a couple of years almost twice as long as they have worked to produce any other driver in their history. On a side note wait till you see the profile on the Ray Alpha Fairway Woods, This one could give the Ryoma D1 FW a run for it's money. Enjoy the pics!

thicker top lines are becoming a thing now days, almost necessary if you need a heavy head as it's the best and almost the only place to get the weight up on an anser design while performance wise it makes the ball roll straighter or the putter more forgiving.

Titleist T-MB Review & First Impressions
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Yup it's heavier than steel, looks good to me. I think it's more forgiving than most players CB, I haven't played with it but based on the LM I'm gonna say it could almost be as forgiving as the ONOFF Forged... really! Not sure who made it. Jacked lofts are the new standard, it really doesn't matter it's just a different number on the sole and different set make up in the bag. -
Their gear is pretty sick, Shingo Katayama is one of their designers. Good news is we are linked and TSG will be offering the product shortly. Please bare with us lots going on right now. Blog post coming tomorrow about A-GRIND

Titleist T-MB Review & First Impressions
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
They had to do it, because it's a different material the Satin Finish would melt it if it were finished the same way, they could have went with a gloss smokey black. When I get my set I will try and take it apart to see what we can do at TSG Club Works. -
Got to hit these, very nice! Very VG3 like! Feedback here: http://www.tourspecgolf.com/blog/titleist-japan-t-mb-irons/

Cool, NSpro will be there so I will see what they got that's new, if there is nothing new I won't have much for you. Yururi, I'm spending a couple days at a Ryokan in Kobe with Miyoshi-san and his wife for R&R at the end of our trip, so if there is nothing new product wise I can post pics of the food...lol

It's that time of year again! in 3 days TSG is back at it covering the Japan Golf Fair at Tokyo Big Site. Wanted to ask you guys if you have any special requests... Of course we will be covering everything worth mentioning from the show but anything else while we are in Japan? Doing the normal factory rounds in Himeji so if you have any specific questions that you would like us to ask do tell.

I can't say that it is best in distance, it's the blend of all things but ball speeds "i'm told" are slightly higher, ( I can't prove that) before a few brands used it and their gripe was it's price but material costs have gone way down and it's being adopted more and more. DAT55 is a Japanese made material I personally can't say it's longer but I like the feel and sound of just about every DAT driver I have hit.
