I was a Maxima H8tr when it first launched and now I'm a believer. What was it? My wife she played the D1 and that was her longest driver ever but when she moved to the Maxima I watched her pick up an easy 10+ yds no joke! She now drives a green (reds) regularly when before it was just a dream. After that I put one into play with a GT-7 then later a Boron and found if the shaft is stable this driver has more carry and role that almost everything out there and it treats my toe & heel misses better than the D1 did.

Gold's milling, old or new gen PZ?
TourSpecGolfer replied to Bill3508's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Hi Bill, what sort of feel do you like? -
Forged in Himeji S25C, but look at that link, those are all open model designs. That 209J is the same blank Geotech offers. If your budget is 1k I suggest looking at the JDM Srixon Limited 925's I have in the BST for half that then get them shafted. They are Endo forged, sold out everywhere and will hold resale better. Very soft and a good handful of JPGA pros bag them.

We always wonder what the average golfer in Japan plays. These are just the normal guys not club ho's like many of us. I will be posting these scan's more regularly just for kicks, enjoy!

Shinagawa is a small grind house in Himeji Japan. He's an older gent, I've met him a couple of times at the golf show most recently in 2013 and I've also heard he is one of Miura's teachers. That said his product is custom grind open model. I would say it depends on how much your spending. If your anywhere near the cost of a set of more modern blades say something produced by Endo it may be a wise choice to go that route.

I'm guessing the VG3 has less offset but is the thicker iron overall. Without having both in hand it's hard to tell.

I have a really hard time finding JDM apparel, even within the same brand I.e taylormade one Series LL is not the same as another series LL. Uniqlo omg! It's been a decade since I could fit their largest size.

Yonex next gen muscle back - first look
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
These are for sure neo blades. -
Two options: chrome and non plated. I wouldn't say the non plated can be easily dulled to a satin. It'll rust fast.

45" for me is normal 46" is long 47" is uber long 44" is short 43.5" is uber short
-
I never really noticed TM going above 45" outside of Japan. Does anyone offer shorter than 45" lengths for 2013?
-
I Will let you know shortly via PM we have two sets coming in and one is for you.

302? Cmon Golf Channel! Isn't the PGA show supposed to cover new products?

Hi Stevo & gang, we can get these for you. Titleist is a Korean company btw.

You only have 1 loft option... 7.5! PRGR is pushing the envelope again, we saw in recent years everyone going higher CG more forward, Actually Japan has been doing this for ages while USDM brands jumped on the bandwagon late. This Egg1 driver is all about distance and carry + velocity for big overall distance. It's got a slightly longer shaft with a very deep COG, a strong loft head and low torque shaft. This combo combined with a high swing speed of an athlete player creates a high launch angle with low spin. The face angle is square and it specs out at D2.5 7.5! calling all fast swingers, I'm intrigued with the concept of high launch low spin combined with low torque and very low loft are you? Did someone say shorter driver shaft length is better? Since reading Wishons areticle I've been going over all the new releases coming next month and no brands are going shorter, not even a little bit. This goes for USDM brands as well, while the length increase is less drastic in the states drivers are getting longer not shorter. I can't find any brand going shorter in length, maybe you guys can help me find one. I've been digging through all the current magazine articles on the effect of a longer shaft vs shorter and it seems the distance reward is a logical risk as center struck shots are not, are NOT affected very much by the added length. The difference is actually very hard to measure it's so small. Anyway it's not like this club is 47" its 46" and I'm second guessing cutting my 45.75" Messenger shaft down to 44". I did play it since and it feels like it tightened dispersion but it seems to go shorter, not happy with that adjustment as I lacked distance in the first place.

Sneak peak at new 2014 Titleist VG3 Iron
TourSpecGolfer replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
A little more info in, there are 2 versions of the irons pardon the crappy pictures but it shows a setup that is very similar to the previous VG3, It's actually a bit thinner at the top line imo. Titleist has taken market share from XXIO which has been the game improvement gear king for many years. The VG3 has been very successful in this regard. Titleist has new balls, new driver/fairway/utility and 2 new irons coming out in the VG3 series. That "whale" looking picture above is indeed the smaller version and yes its very similar to a hair smaller than the previous. Finally some good news in this thread! -
Here's a first look at the new Yonex 2014 muscle back iron. A couple things that standout, the first is tungsten in the center of the head to lower the CG and provide an easier up and the second is a Titanium insert that varies the wall thickness and design in the hosel. By design it looks to be more neo blade vs tour blade. A Neo blade has a larger hump meaning more weight down low, a Tour blade is for example what TourStage & Yamaha produces each year focused on consistency of result and a low stable trajectory.

Romaro Type R FW Tour Select IP Black version
TourSpecGolfer replied to Shankopotamus's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The Romaro Ray UT is good, but the Type-R is really good. Is that the one you guys are all talking or is it the original? I find the Type-R easier to hit off of different lies. -
