  1. wow that's a pretty big deal. Is this egg as easy to hit as the 2nd gen? As straight? How could anything be straighter than the F3 or feel more rewarding than the XV..
  2. Yonex has been off my radar since the Ezone 380/420/450 drivers, they went a little big and loud after that. I miss the pear playeresque shape of the 380 and in the new i-Ezone TX they have seemed to get some of their mojo back. Yonex has 3 new drivers, this is the smaller cooler looking one. It's a carbon crowned, 6AI-4V Ti Cast body and SP700 face. It is yet another JDM adjustable so you can open and close the face, if you want to control trajectory closed sends the ball higher while open a bit lower. I'll be giving this club a whirl later this week so stay tuned for feedback and post any questions if you gotum. I've got the bigger driver here as well, not nearly as pretty but I will snap some shots.
  3. A good handful of members have these in the bag. I've been a fan of two Giken wedges recently this 5000WC & a two models back the 5000WB. The grind and feel is most remarkable about them both, Just very user friendly all around. The 5000WC is versatile, I've had some time with a 57* and I like it equally to the WB. In fact it's hard to tell the difference in performance and feel. They do carry a similar negative and that both Tatsuro and I found it to be 2-5 yds shorter than other wedges which is no big deal considering how well they perform just about everywhere else. The Spin is average to above average I think. What say you about the 5000WC?

Any Crazy UT fans? Like the FW80 the UT never leaves my hybrids. Have been completely satisfied with it in my Type R hybrid for many months now.
  5. It's hard to tell, I hit a lot of really good drivers with really good shafts and so many pass through its all hard to gauge anymore. I need a good month of just playing hardcore to sort through it all. This is a good driver, it's a solid impact unlike the irons, a little much written on the sole, I'm not a fan of adjustable stuff and based on this heads feel even with one of my favorite shafts I probably wouldn't fall in love. Because it's got in my experience a decent amount of roll for a mid/high trajectory it does leave me curious to see what inserting a medium trajectory shaft would do for its overall distance. I'm not really looking for a distance champ there are plenty of those, I need a club i can swing smooth for 18 holes and get good yardage down the middle.
  6. This post is from 9 years back.
  7. I'm gonna re shaft it, the 77 was boardy for me and too heavy, I gotta really swing at it. Head is fine though. Not the prettiest sole.
  8. I'll start by posting pics, please insert your feedback. I've had my run with it, don't think the shaft is for me. The first few rounds I could handle this driver thru holes #1- 8 but after that I think the shaft gets to me. I've had 3 rounds with it and so far think it's for a better striker than I. Talking about just the head itself it's classic JDM. reminds me of TourStage drivers of old, impact was firm but really nice, a muted firm solid impact like what many of us desire. Performance wise it had a little S-Yard in it but not enough. I got that lower ball flight no doubt and it was very stable and I also "felt" my spin was reduced. But It was closer to the XV than the 388 if you know what I mean. Good not great but this is just my take. I'm 100% clear that some would absolutely love this head, just not me. I also found it easier to hit the 388 consistently straighter but again going back to the shaft this Waccine GR77 gives me little love.
  9. first impressions are pretty good on this one, head feels nice and heavy, the shaft pretty stable seems to play a bit stiffer than most standard options, the feel on the 9 holes I had it for was that its a firm impact, not harsh but not soft. the ball seems to launch off the face quickly. distance was hard to gauge as this is not my shaft so I was getting a little wider dispersion than I would like but outside of that I actually got into the groove faster with this club than most of my other more exclusive JDM gamers. The roll was impressive for the launch, it was a little higher than I would want even at 9.5. For me anyway there is something lacking a feel, a sound, a look, or kick I'm not sure exactly whats missing but I know like most other drivers on the market this thing will and can perform for anyone who puts the right shaft and specs and time into it. Also gave the 3wd a whack, Its nice. similar feel but very easy to get up and a mid trajectory. again stock shaft gotta go.
  10. Usually we have more demand for the MB over the CB but this year it's opposite and by a pretty large margin.
  11. Snapped some pics of this years Z725 driver, the irons were pretty awesome with a killer design but a bit busy with the stamping although the feel and performance was stand out. Some would say a little too soft at impact. Now onto the Z725 driver it's 425cc's released as a 2013 model. It too is pretty busy with the stamping but Srixon has tossed a lot into this one making a smart adjustable face angle driver with adjustable weights. I personally do not like adjustable clubs as I hate having to deal with adapters and how some OEMs try to monopolize shaft sales this way. Like Srixon, are they really only going to offer the Miyazaki shafts from the factory? Variable face thickness, Forged Ti Face, I haven't hit it yet so I can't really report back if it's effective design. I do think its interesting there are no grooves on the face. Enjoy the pics, I know we sold a bunch of these so if anyone can chime in with real world experience please do tell.
  12. There are non conforming wedges that spin less than conforming wedges and vice versa. Considering that everyone says the same thing about Yururi and has for years about spin I don't think it's a matter of paint fill but rather design and maybe a trick in there that nobody knows about.

Yes these are a few models back for RC, sorry I don't recall who made them. Have you hit them? Impact ?
  14. Yea it depends on your ear, If you are an audiophile and have a few bucks to blow buy as components and assemble a system. Make sure it looks good in your house!
  15. That's a good question, I'm not sure at the moment.
  16. I think it's because the face is more shallow than most wedges so it appears long and thin. These wedges are classic, I think the most consistently sold wedge on TSG over the years. It's time for a new version IMO, even though nothing is wrong with them.
  17. Nothing can be as good as looking at it in person! Congratulations on this very fine putter. This is what Sasaya-san believes is the most interesting part of the process, when the customer uses it and realizes if the modifications felt/sound/rolled as they expected, or was the experience different. Sound slot + orig. PZ milling I would expect to feel great.
  18. I'm drooling over these photos!
  19. Yes up and up the SYD is longer but if Distance was priority I could use the F2 instead of F3. I get a more floaty flight with the Ryoma and less roll.
  20. Lucky man, looked like a great show. Here we had SEMA which is no where as cool as the DMS.
  21. I play this now with a Crazy UT. My favorite!
  22. The 1007 reminds me of the feel closer to the TourStage MC, especially when struck center. Your gonna love them, I wish I had the game to handle them.
  23. How much weight did you add to the head? This FW is almost the total package for me. The only thing that I hit better is the Ryomas and by better I mean straighter and safer not longer.
  24. The 2007 is a sweet mix of forgiveness and a good compact setup. I have a set with c-tapers I'm fooling around with, feel is a nice firmer soft. The 1007 and 1007 Y-grind feels a bit more firm and less forgiving but uber sexy from above.
