Roddio shafts still good? In particular the M5.
TourSpecGolfer replied to wmclarenf1's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I notice the people who love them have had the shaft installed properly. Usually you take a driver shaft and stick it into the drivers head without any tipping. With Roddio based on the head weight of the driver you would trimthe shaft tip in milimeters to reach a desired CPM. -
The new Crazy covers are pretty sweet

I've been having FW issues, In fact any wood issues. Changed to a stronger grip on the driver and its helped get rid of my big mistakes but the positive effect hasn't trickled into my FW or UT's. I'm playing the Egg HD, I have a new Ryoma F3 w/ Crazy FW80 in the air now to help eliminate my fade/pull issues. Ha! forget fixing the swing just by new gear right? nah Tats is helping me out with the mechanics. I'm thinking about putting a Tour AD SF-7 X into my Egg HD to straighten her out. with my UT's I just recieved my new 13 Yammy's and they sure are purdy. I went with NS Steel hybrid shafts to keep it in play. After a few range sessions I really like them, actually the steel is saving me a couple strokes per round as I used to toss the FW's into the rubbish at least 1-2 times per round. Any takers on steel?

The new 2013 Studio Stock Putters by Bettinardi should be in the shop by the end of the week. Very nice stuff! Here's pics of a customers putter, it's the #12.

were asking Globeride aka Daiwa JPN about these Roddio irons. I'd personally like to see them stay up to date on their shafts before moving into irons but the more new product the merrier especially when they are using quality makers like Zodia & Miura. more info to come! Thx for posting montana!

MoreBeerBetterGolf's 2013 Bag o' Indecisiveness
TourSpecGolfer replied to MoreBeerBetterGolf's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Nice Stix! Would be too cool to see someone on the course with that bag. -
This community has been much larger in the past and thankfully it isn't that way anymore. It started with BSG, then came TSG and all the "tour" guys came here. Then they were like wtf this dudes only focused on JDM product, that left a gap in the market. thus WRX was born. I'm very thankful for WRX, it's a good place and the best part is they now house the many people I prefer not to have around here. No offense to anyone. We have been around for a long time and pride ourselves in keeping it compact with serious enthusiasts only. When the num nuts come around I usually scare them off or get rid of them all together and that really isn't a secret. The price I pay is that they go to another forum and bad mouth us, the pay off we get is the TSG community stays civil, informative and very awesome. We also have a huge lurker base, If you could only see the web statistics. It's international, we have people who never post that frequently visit and have been doing so for over a decade. I want to thank them too! In regards to the BST. Well we do have rules and if you notice anything suspicious let us know. The rules are in place for a reason. Seriously thanks for caring guys! There is a new version of TSG in the works, lots of new stuff coming. Our team is very passionate about improving the site. There is also a lot of stuff we do that everyone isn't aware of. Something goods coming up!

S-Yard T.388 - Designed by Kenji Kobayashi
TourSpecGolfer replied to nobmontana's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
If you enjoyed the AF101 you will really like the feel of the 103. I've been playing that the last handful of rounds. I'm eagerly waiting for the next batch of T.388 drivers to ship. -
Was that the Z70/ Zero combo you got from me? I have tried that one and the Fiamma in a couple of heads and even on the track man with a few others. Decent shaft but the money is in the graphics imo. Tario's been to their HQ, that finish is very expensive but doesn't hold up so well imo. Nice feel though, dispersion wasn't the best and distance was average.
-
This is interesting, this putter was made by David Whitlam while he worked for George Takei at Gauge Design Japan. So where does the GF come from? Well that was over a decade ago when Gold's was just starting out and Sasaya had something to do with the concept of it. Was this the putter played by Shingo? unfortunately no it wasnt. The "Staff Only" was sort of like a prototype. It was a test sample pre production. Shingo's had much less stamping on it.
-
I'll ask GT if that was Shingo's actual putter and let you know. I like the GF Gold's Factory stamping on the Aluinser back when Sasaya-san was with GD JPN. Wouldn't it be cool to restore that sucker? They were very expensive back in the day.

George Spirits Pictures + Video!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I think it was you who mentioned you like it on faster greens, I agree and they are fantastic putters. -
For me several stand out, the best imo is the Ryoma Special TUNING. I have a few non conforming clubs and the Ryoma is longer by 10yds, its as if it's hotter or something. I hear the Epon EHR is long and it is gorgeous in person but I'm not sure if your feeling that look. Ryoma ST + Crazy CB-46 SR tipped 45.5" is what I play now and it's a forgiving smooth swinging beast.

That's a plated finish isn't it? It's so sexy! Im a Toyoshima player myself and would love to see how these workout for you.

As many have noticed we brought back the George Spirits brand to TSG. The new mono GT455 driver is pretty sick it's got a 2 Piece body: 6A-4V + FACE-DAT55G cold forged in Japan and better players will appreciate that the 9.5* is a whopping 2* open while the 10.5 is 1.5* open and the 11.5 is 1* open. The mono 3D forged iron is wicked as well, it's soft, its forgiving and it's still compact. More compact than the new ONOFF Forged but with a cavity that is just as deep. The limited muscle back irons are in the Video as well I believe there are only a couple sets left, in person it's very clean and simple with a near perfect shape. The GT-SW Pro Forged is solid, it looks neo but from above it's compact and a near perfect shape while the sole is narrow yet the mass near the heel makes it very stable and heavier head. Of course the putters are in there as well! Please enjoy the video!

Some Extreme Face Milling : Kitada KG002F SUS303
TourSpecGolfer replied to wmclarenf1's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Yes beetle horns and we will work with them on that..lol It's really bad imo. Remember now what GF does to a putter is the customers choice. He isn't putting gold nuggets on it if you only want your initials stamped. Yes GF knows balance and CG thats why he warns customers when they go overboard. GF used to design fully milled putters from solid block for Gauge Design. I have it as you almost have something against GF based on the way you poke and compare it to bling, plastic surgery, etc.. etc.. I find it obvious in what you say about them, and thats no problem as everyone here is aware I have strong feelings about several brands as well. But what perplexes me is that you like me love great things and I'm telling you GF is the best at what they do... In the WORLD and by a Mile. They take great putters and make them even better, yes with the same CG placement, they can reduce or increase weight, improve roll, for sure improve balance.... OR they can put something ridiculous on it per the customer request. I think your missing out especially if you have the bones to try it. Just ask so many in this forum. Knowing you like great quality, craftsmanship and technique where else would you send your putter for kick it up a notch? No offense to anyone but we've seen the work that the U.S guys do and it's not nearly at the level of GF nor do they have the capabilities to do as many things. There is only one way to find out right? Here's a brief run down of the thought process of a GF customer: Hmm... I really love this putter (scotty, Hiro, or whatever ) but I wish it was center shafted and a little bit heavier... and wouldn't it be cool if it came in smoked chrome and had a 4 leaf clover or dragon on it. I also like those weights that Sasaya does but It looks too heavy. Let me ask Gocchin if GF can make the same weight but only a few grams heavy instead of 10g... Tario responds with a quote that has suggestions and brings up any issues that he or sasaya have noticed with the design request. Damn thats expensive...lol...jk -
Introducing New Ultimate Design - NUD JAPAN Hi Cor Driver
TourSpecGolfer replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I don't believe 92mph can get your 250 yds. I think most people have beer goggles on when it comes to their own distance. They must of picked the perfect swing on the LM to produce 250 from 92mph imo. I used to think I averaged 250 but then I realized with multiple trackmans and LM's that my average is around 228. Of course there is the occasional 270+ perfect condition down hill runner but thats not average. -
Some Extreme Face Milling : Kitada KG002F SUS303
TourSpecGolfer replied to wmclarenf1's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I'd love to learn about your other hobbies, we are probably on the same page in many instances. I notice you enjoy watch references what else? I don't fault GF one bit, they openly use the word blank or replica when dealing with Kitada heads. GF is like an aftermarket car company, what they do is improve performance, feel, and asthetics of all putters from Scotty, Odyssey, Kitada Blanks etc... I really respect them for doing what NO ONE else can. Can other companies do what M.Sasaya does... nope and not a single one. GF is the Novitec Rosso or RUF of the putter industry. Does it bother you that Kitada is considered an Open Model Putter Co. selling their blanks to companies? Or that they don't make their own steel or finish their heads themselves? It would occur to me that you would take issue with that. Again the Kitada heads are a blank canvas for customers to be creative with GF modifications, is it's GF's bad for giving customers that option or is it Kitada's bad for selling blank heads. Based on stamping, I'd much rather take a blank Kitada head sent to GF and have an engraving of my choice added than the two beetle horns and a circle K, but to each is own. That said, Kitada does use great JIS SUS303 and with a few shape and engraving adjustments we believe can become a much improved brand. That's why we are meeting Kitada-san next month in Tokyo. -
Introducing New Ultimate Design - NUD JAPAN Hi Cor Driver
TourSpecGolfer replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The team at BALDO has a really good design team I must say, not sure if I'm feeling the term NUD. A good shot = you just nudded that ball! -
Haha! I'd prefer Epon doesn't say an item is limited if they have plans to re-release it. It get's under my skin when companies do that sort. On the other hand they did lose one of the greatest designers and presidents to S-Yard and EPON will have to adjust to not having Kobayashi-san around... Expect S-Yard to take off in the next year! In regards to a Personals MKII, A side of me hopes for a MKII but Epon isn't sure where the rumor started. If it does happen lets hope for bigger changes than just stamping.

I ordered with the stock shaft stiff flex and a 10.5 loft.
