You Ask We Listen! The Official RomaRo Thread!!!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I know a couple of you play the Ray V's by RomaRo and absolutely love them. I wonder how they stack against the ONOFF Forged, VG3's, and Yammy Forged Irons. -
Thoughts on shafts (esp driver/wood)
TourSpecGolfer replied to kaaayelll's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I suggest you contact gocchin and ask him for a fitting questionnaire and he can provide you with some of examples of shafts that would suit your swing. In fact if you have video of your swing he even breaks it down and shows you why you would need the shaft recommended and he captures screen shots of your video and adds graphics in the explanation. -
Lots of history with George Takei the owner and I. I like him, It's just his companies seem to vanish leaving a giant S**t storm behind. If there was demand we could offer it no problem.

Pro Forged MB by RomaRo - I got carried away taking pictures of these beauties. In good light it's just so easy to make them look good. I'm working on a video of tats comparing these to the Epon Personals. Our findings were pretty interesting in the category of workability. If you guys have any questions let us know. TSG is also the exclusive North America / UK / AU / Middle East Distributor of RomaRo so if you want to see these products in a Shop around you let us know. -
I liked the 2nd gen more than the 1st. It was paired with a crazy FW80. Never had a better FW. Waiting for my new HD.

Let's start with the RomaRo CX Forged cavity back. This sucker reminds me of the TourStage MR-23 for some reason. I would categorize it bigger than the Yamaha Tour Model CB's yet smaller than the Epon 301/302. The feeling is softer less firm no doubt, to each is own in this area. It's going to be weeks until we can provide a full review. We shot some video and whacked these around at the range quite a bit. Top Notch! Delicious feel! Below some setup pics. the toe is a bit rounded which we are told has something to do with CG placement. the MB and the Ray V's have sharper toes. Sole is pretty thin just right for me. what do you guys think? Check out this undercut. It's got some clean edges that have been CNC'd and smoothed out. Lots of good manufacturing here. Top line is a bit more rounded as well. -

Go with Geotech for HCR. But if your looking for 200 bucks or under all you can do is go for 2005 or clone heads. I would suggest going newer conforming than 2005 HCR. -
Thank you for posting this iDrive!

Sigh.... Yes so please read up and learn more about how golf clubs are made and where they are made. Irons are not all the same, Not just anyone can forge a head. In fact no foundry can do what ENDO does. Your comment on Hi COR, HCR is HCR, it doesn't matter when it was made. If your going to discriminate against clubs based on the year they were built then your not really looking for the best club possible. bottom line is you would be playing one today. HCR clubs today are more forgiving and longer than HCR clubs in 2005. -
Ok so I have had a lot of time with these. Maybe 6+ rounds and a few range days. Many members play last years version and are probably wondering how they compare. The new VG3 IS an improvement. Subtle but worth the upgrade IMO. It's a bit more compact yet just as forgiving. I custom ordered mine with the Modus3's and they feel much better at impact than the previous model with NS1150's. So it's a little hard for me to judge if it's the head or shaft contributing to that. These go head to head against a few other top notch irons. The ONOFF Forged, Yamaha V-Forged, and the EPON 502. Below some pics of the 6, PW, & 4 irons. 6 IRON: PW: 4 IRON:

Tats in vegas we have no problems, take the raws to Hawaii or another costal city with heavy salt content in the air and sword oil or WD-40 becomes your best friend.

Best Forged CB irons of 2011/2012
TourSpecGolfer replied to xerobound's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Non forum TSG customers in 2012 have been giving the best feedback to the Titleist VG3's & ONOFF Forged. Not everyones cup of tea as they are not exactly compact but as far as happy goes they take the cake. Another thing we noticed to is that people who got those two irons didn't switch to new irons as quickly and I think that says a lot. -

Yes if you like clones. Spend some time reading up and learning about JDM clubs. I don't suggest going with an older 2005 high cor head. So much has changed since then. -
I was hesitant to try the current ONOFF Forged irons then after about 9 holes I fell in love. We are expecting these to be cut from the same cloth, same great feel, same forgiveness into a slightly thinner sole and a hair smaller profile. I'm excited no doubt! Try them you will see what all the fuss is about.

Wow this post is 7 years old! Today's hottest high COR driver is the Ryoma Special Tune although there are many out there. Geotech makes some ridiculously HOT drivers as well. Still it all depends on what type of head you want to play also. -
I dont believe nor do the shaft companies or the majority of PGA or JPGA tour players do either. We have been asking for years (at the factory) and can't find anyone in Japan who buys into it. The only positive thing they say is it "might" help with the really poorly designed shafts but even then if it's designed properly even shafts made of the lowest quality materials don't need it.
-
Such a pretty course! Sorry about the shaft. Crazy's warranty policy is you have to be the 1st owner who purchased it brand new and it broke from normal use. We word it with them pretty carefully. No guarantee's all we can say is we try even if your not the 1st owner.
-
Sorry old post. There's no way I would consider an SST lease anymore.
-
Your right, we dont know and it could be hard for them to judge as well. Was it a snap sound or did it just break apart? Looks like a pretty clean break from the pics. Every break we have seen came from above the ferrule usually when leaning on the club, hitting the ground or during transport. Buying new is definitely worth it for the warranty We've never seen anything like this before. Good luck we will try to get them to replace it for you.
-
That has nothing to do with Crazy if it broke near center like that.

I used to think that performance was maxed, then the Ryoma D-1 was born. 2 things stand out for this driver are the monocoque body and most importantly 60 grams in the rear. I've spoken to the factory insiders and its unanimous that the Ryoma is a truly special design and yes even the guys and Endo think so. There are other monocoque body drivers, not many but when you combine that with a super hot face then the 60G's in the back designers believe its a game changer. Then there are Crazy shafts with more active tips although more fragile, that and the really aggressive shaft profiles/design & expensive materials they have been able to get even more distance provided you select the right model and combine it with the right head. Then finally lots of this is mental. A new driver does release dopamine into the brain which releases pleasure signals just like expensive scotch, or wine, or a watch. The more expensive, rare, exotic, and limited gives you a bigger high!
