Lol. Ya it is early. Most TSG'ers ordered with custom shafts I believe that's why things are lagging. I've got my head only sitting in the workshop. I don't have a shaft for it except a basalius pull. I guess I can slap that one in for giggles and see how it goes. I'm waiting for the Diamana B series to arrive. -
I think the pro forged irons rival the Personals, It's very close, Romaro makes some good stuff no doubt and agree with u guys on the wedges feeling more firm than the irons. From what I understand is that a firmer wedge is usually by design. I believe this is done intentionally during the annealing process. I've been told on many occasions that you don't want wedges uber soft. I've got a demo of the pro forged iron and hit back to back against the personals I give the Pro Forged the edge in setup as its more knife like, feel is softer too but not as "pure". Which is subjective of course. I give the advantage to the personals in forgiveness by a good margin though. 460 vs 435, well i like the spin rate on the 435 as it seems a tad less and I also like the trajectory. Feel is a toss up both are really good. The 435 has that more muted solid impact while the 460 is a softer hollow, not the softest but still nice for me.

Yamaha 2013 Tour Model and Inpres Lineup Info - Important

Yamaha accounts in Japan get 1 set of irons only of the Tour Models. TSG usually gets 5-10 sets. I just ordered mine. 3-PW w/ Modus3 & the driver with GT-6 Stiff, although I don't even know what that shaft is. I missed it last time and I won't let that happen again! -
Second Ramsay restaurant I've been to. The first in London was just so so. In Vegas his new one Steak was off the hook. Decor, Service, and Food was excellent. Highly Recommend if your in LV! Sonoma Farms Foie Gras - pan seared foie gras, Harry's Berries strawberry jam, English muffin, home made bacon bits. Maine Lobster - chorizo stuffed Maine lobster, butter poached and brandied lobster cream sauce, sweet corn. 3 of our favorite sides here - fingerling potatoes, fire roasted corn, and mac & cheese. roasted beef wellington - glazed root vegetables, potato puree, red wine demi-glace. American Kobe Steak - Rib Cap with a BMS #10 rating ordered RARE + Sticky Toffee Pudding - sweet pudding cake, brown sugar toffee, brown butter ice cream

I remember TSG ordering that putter for you, I remember it being the only putter I've ever seen you play while just about everything else in your bag has shuffled around. Your putter sure did deserve this make over. Simply stunning!

The 502's are really a milestone in golf club technology, other brands have used vibration absorbing material in heads but alpha gel is on a whole other level. OEMs have ordered the 502 iron just to take it apart and see how it's done. I still prefer the 551/501 because it has a better setup (for me) and also provides more feel at impact but I hope when Epon does make a 503 they utilize the same gel but just distribute it differently so it doesn't feel as numb. I also think if they made a more compact iron with alpha gel more people would like it. The 502 has superior feel on poorly struck shots. -
Made the Switch to Crazy Toyoshima's
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Corky, I would buy them back. PM me! -
In the last 6 months I've been somewhat of a wedge fanatic. It all started back at the 2012 Japan Golf Fair or what we at TSG call the "Tokyo Show" where so many new Forged Japan only offerings were highlighted by Major OEMs. The most exciting were the Taylormade Japan Only "FORGED" ATV wedges in a beautiful Dark IP Satin finish in contrast the standard release was cast and didn't have such a sexy finish. Then there was the Japan Only "FORGED" Titleist Vokey TVD and after some serious delays and back orders I finally got a custom set built to my specs. When it came to surprises at the Tokyo Show these two forged wedges hit the mark. The Forged ATV, Its forgiving, modern, and beautiful not to mention very easy to hit. It has a wide sole that you could still play it off of tighter lies. I also tried the 64* lob and still to this date is it the easiest bunker club I've ever experienced, From anywhere else though a 64* is a pain in the butt and requires perfect angles of striking. Although this forged model felt better than the standard release cast version and looked much better it still didn't have the soft rewarding feel I am accustomed to hitting in Japanese wedges and irons. If it did I would probably still have them in the bag. These lasted a couple of months in my bag, very good wedges indeed. Vokey Forged: It's soft forged of S20C by ENDO and feels superb. This one is an extremely hot seller here at TSG with many back orders but customers were patient and now they are readily available again. The word I would use to sum these up is Versatile and especially when it comes to opening the face. It's as if the grind would fit a tour pro but it's forgiving enough to hit clean for any level of player. The face isn't overly compact and It's pretty much in a nut shell the softest & best feeling Vokey TVD Titleist has ever produced. Comparing these to the Forged ATV's I enjoyed the feel of these but the forgiveness of the sole of the ATV's. I'd still take these Titleist any day over anything other than the Crazy's. So It's obvious I chose the Limited Edition Crazy Toyoshima wedges. I played them for over 6 months back 3 years ago when the first version was available. These things sell out within 30-60 days most of the time. The grind is simple and visually reminds me of the ONOFF S-Forged but they play nothing alike. The Tokyoshima's have such a soft heavy feel to them and are compact yet more forgiving than both the JDM ATV & Vokey. They setup perfectly for my eye. The leading edge is blunted but not overly rounded, conditions have been soft here and one of my concerns about these was digging but so far that hasn't been the case. After my very first round with these they made the cut. I'm on round five or six now and consistency of chips and bump shots have improved greatly. I'm playing them with Satin KBS Tours at 1.5* flat with Crazy Iomic grips. More pics below:

Excited for you! For the clubs and omg your home tracks of Fire & Earth are Heaven on Earth! Gotta share this picture I'm fascinated with this place.

They are not from Honma, I would just stay away better safe than sorry. Already so many choices that smoke these. Another red flag is although it says "made in Japan" many of the references and dealers are in China.

Can't get Ryoma out of my head. More questions
TourSpecGolfer replied to wmclarenf1's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
As far as I know it's a different face material that makes it different. -
I Love the JDM Vokeys but they just got booted for they new Crazy Toyoshimas! I agree with Tats comments, Miura felt amazing but lacked spin and same lofts lacked distance. Yururi feels great too in raw, tons of spin, Chikara makes a decent wedge but I haven't hit it for years.

Yup let us know if you want single clubs for Juniors.

From GTI: It's my 4th Ryoma driver now, I'm all about these and have been for quite some time. The D-1 V-Spec has changed my driving game and even my wife plays one. It's less stressful on the brain when a mis**ts fly a lot straighter and longer. My addiction started with the V-Spec 9.5 degree head. It was better than anything else I played up until that point but trajectory still was a little low for me, enter the 10.5 V-Spec which has been in the bag almost forever in club Ho'ing years. Then more recently it became a 9.5 Special Tune which although higher than 9.5 conforming model it still flew a little low for my bones so.... Here comes my new babe, The D-1 V-Spec Special Tune but this time in 10.5. Glory! It works perfectly and I'm getting 10 yards on average more distance and occasionally 25! Don't believe? Ya Neither do I. My score has gone up as some holes I have to hit a 3 wood now but I'll work that out too U guess. So a couple things to note, The non conforming model designated by the words "Special Tune" but otherwise identical seems to have a hair more spin on it. Its not much at all and I would gladly take that for the extra yardage I've gained. I've learned through the years of Ho'ing that for my swing lots of spin and little forgiveness is the recipie for disaster. I still consider the Special Tune low spin compared to others, It's also forgiving as hell. How's she look from above? Sexy right, with that White prototype "CRAZY MOFO" shaft. It's just graphics and I'm still not happy with the way it looks. I had them apply this graphic to the CB-46 shaft which is my Go To carbon of choice. Hopefully the word "MOFO" doesn't offend anyone, We had a proto named Kamakaze that had a few worked up. The CB-46 + Special Tune FOR ME is tops. The CB-46 has low spin, it's not too heavy, and the trajectory is penetrating. I went with the SR flex because crazies play a little stiff. The shaft is listed for aggressive tempo folks but I'm able to swing smooth. My smooth is still aggressive to most. I left out all the technical jargon in this post because most already know it's a very special club. One of the awesome things about Ryoma's is how they hold their resale value unlike most drivers. If you own one 1st or 2nd hand keep her in good shape as I've seen a pre owned Ryoma's go for just a few hundred less than new and when your talking about a 1200 club that helps a lot.

They make good clubs. Very nice designs. It's mostly the irons and wedges that stand out although they have made some good fairways & driving irons in the past. Their last few wedges although forged have felt a bit firm imo. I believe the 930 & 530 models are produced by ENDO. If your new to JDM there are some other offerings I would suggest.

It's listed in the proshop @ 349.00 -
Yea EPON HQ is a cool place to visit but after a couple of hours your pretty much done. Shinkansen ticket isn't cheap either. Crazy for sure has the best experience for a JDM fanatic if you want a great experience.

We really can't say for sure but I assume 1000 sets min would be a good starting point. It's not just about affording the 1000 sets but also a lot of money goes into the CAD & Molds.
