  1. Maybe T can clarify but I usually see new releases start to trickle out just before the Tokyo Golf Show. Let's hope they release some new limited edition gear. I would love a limited driver that's at least 450cc's and looks like Darth Vadars helmet.
  2. Oh wow, those are crazy sexy! Custom set and you also purchased wedges. I love V-Forged wedge perhaps one of the best wedges of the year in my book. I wanted the Tour's but didn't order in time. I ended up getting the normal V-Forged.
  3. I've tried many this year. The stand outs were the Yonex UT for ease of use and it's desire to fly straight although it flies a little high. The Epon AF-902 was not bad. Easy to hit but flies way too high even with a Crazy shaft. TourStage X-UT with steel shaft was my accuracy all star of 2011. The TRC by Royal Collection was all around a solid performer. This year I really enjoyed lower trajectory UT's for the most part for their accuracy. When it comes to driving irons the Srixon Z-UTi was my fav of the year.
  4. Happy New Year! Here's to an amazing 2011 and an even better 2012!
  5. Second Gen does sound better but the 1st wasn't that bad i think. The best options are to foam the head for dead mute or use cotton to soften it.
  6. So what we have is a bunch of different companies saying their product is the best, can't blame them for that. Then we have the loyalists and players who actually prefer a particular model or brand of iron shaft over all others, no wrong in that either. I've played pretty much everything, I'm an average player but I always make sure Tatsuro gives it a try as well as that man really has no bias. I have a harder time looking down on steel shafts than I do graphite. DG, NS, KBS, Shimada all have some great products it's all about what you get along with. I'm a fan of NS950/1150 in players type irons. I still like DG in more forgiving heads, and KBS I haven't gotten along with but never put enough time into those C-Tapers.
  7. I agree totally. Sometimes 245 other times 265! I use the Egg Spoon, not what I would consider a scoring club just a missile launcher in my hopes to roll on at those longer Par 5's.
  8. 1. New Ryoma, Just hit it with Tatsuro the ball just goes straight and long! 2. PRGR Egg, I have one with the FW80 by Crazy. Longest for me. 3. Akira M205 FW, It's as if the TourStage MR-23 FW of old had babies with an RC.
  9. Like T said feel is very subjective. Soft to me feels very different than mute. For my taste buds mute can also be firm. how about metallic, crunchy, tink, pop, hollow. With so many designs and materials it get's rather confusing very fast. I don't consider the Ryoma uber soft like the 460ZR but I do sense a metallic yet muted sensation to it.
  10. For me it's the Epon 460ZR or Technity. That said I can't get away from the Ryoma.
  11. The Yonex ST is a solid FW. I would rank it top 5 EASY! Good shape, great firm steel feel, very straight low spin shots. Geared slightly toward the faster swinger.
  12. It's all open model irons, wedges are open model raw heads. nothing original. Even the putter is a 2 piece open model. It's your money but if your gonna drop serious coin on irons I suggest making sure it's more than just a different grind on it. We know someone at just about every foundry in Japan. There is nothing he is using thats so much better than anything else out there. They may each have their specialty but when it comes to these smaller japanese foundries nothing is that ground breakingly different. Also keep in mind the sales pitch is targeted to the golfing masses. Most educated TSG'ers can see right through the smoke and mirrors.
  13. A launch monitor is simply a tool. It's not the REP that's the problem it's how you relate to that information in your mind. I would say push through it and don't let knowledge be your enemy. Anything can have an impact on your game psychologically. I've actually had it where I've forgot to put on deodorant and it got in my head. Although that doesn't mean I will stop using it..:) I guess for some people less info is better. For most people its very supportive to know their actual numbers.
  14. I've got one with a Royal Deco stiff mint V-Spec 9.5 for sale if interested folks.
  15. Those are my old personals. I had them put into satin by Kyoei for me aftermarket.
  16. I have a hard time reading other boards. I want to just come in and swat what they are saying but I tend to get overly emotional and get into trouble like that. All good people they just need to learn a bit more about stuff. In the end some people who know nothing about JDM can see quality where it exists. I love people who demand excellence!
  17. Yup those 502's are pretty soft. I just didn't care for the type of soft personally. Some love it. Mizunos are soft but a bit mushy. I like the ONOFF Forged as well.
  18. Epon AF-Tour Yonex Ezone MB Miura MB5003 Yururi Raw MB I would be going for those.
  19. I've got the same setup 9.5 Ryoma V-Spec + Blue Royal Deco Stiff flex shaft. It took me about 9 holes to get into it's groove. A couple of things were tricking my mind. The first was that because it kicks vibrantly I automatically assumed it was a bit to soft for me. Because I wasn't squaring the club head up at impact leaving it right I also thought it was soft. After making a few adjustments the shaft began to do it's magic. Very nice feel to it and dare I say perhaps the best distance of any shaft I have ever had. Playing a course I am very familiar with I was landing the ball further than before and that's with the same Ryoma head and some of Japan's best shafts.
  20. Sorry yes older 770 was made by endo. I keep getting the two confused.
  21. Something at least milled from a solid block of japanese SUS303. Custom options like Finish, head weight, tungsten design, custom alignment, face milling, shaft and grip. The reason why companies have a separate neck piece is to save money. One block of metal can make 2-4 heads where solid block heads are 1-2. Lots of brands hide 2-piece putter heads with a weld. It's so trendy that some customers ask sasaya-san to do a weld neck. So sasaya cut's the neck off then welds it back on. I guess they are shooting for that distressed look.
  22. Thanks! This is a club I look forward to hitting one day. I love everything in the egg series, even their womens clubs
  23. I've hit it so has Tatsuro. Love the feel very explosive and it's got an interesting rounded heel. Very long and forgiving. It's a little circular for my taste in shape. also noticed they released the Jbeam version of the 435 CRZ II. If my crazy doesn't come in soon I will be picking up one of those. Jbeam rocks. I think it could be my 2nd fav brand for drivers only behind Ryoma.
