  1. The grind is the standard grind for the MP-27s, Its kinda killed on the leading and trailing edge sides. The shafts I have installed and am loving are the NS Pro 1050 X-Flexs which I think play very much like PX 6.0s.
  2. Specs: Square Face 9.68 degree loft Brand New This is a year 2000 Tourstage Prototype Driver head made for Toshi Izawa pro. I have very little information about it and the head size is still unknown, if i were to guess 325 - 345cc. It will be going to ebay soon and I will post a link.
  3. IMO a chrome finish would last much longer than a powder coated wedge. I dont know this for fact but it just makes sense that the powdercoat would finish quick. In regards to black finishes I say Gauge Teflon lasts the longest then Clevelands Gunmetal.
  4. Ive got a ton in every color. White, Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Black & Pink. The ones with paint fill in the text are 5.00 more and come shrink wrapped. Drop me a PM if you want just the grip alone.
  5. Yeah, Sorry to jump on this topic again guys but Dave Designs is a lot of where my dissatisfaction with proto stampings comes from. J-Specs about 700+ were made, In fact all J-Specs have Prototype written on the face no #/### just prototype and there were many batches with this stamping made at different times, In fact I'm pretty sure they only sell the so called prototype. The mis use of that word has become an integrated part of his designs. I think for the most part a lot of honest brands do the correct thing, like in regards to scotty I really think they do make a first run of 500 and 300 proto's because selling 125,000 putters a year world wide that seems to be a realistic amount.
  6. Thanks Jack, Its either the Eldik or this baby:
  7. I would say the J340 is a prototype, but there is a prototype version J340 and the normal ones that dont say proto, then again it is a proto of the X-Drive, So I guess its a Proto :-D
  8. I have no clue what the cut out does :-D but I'm stoked I get my New Custom Satin Mizzys on Monday morning!! I ordered MP-27s in Satin no Mizuno label and full black paint fill M stamp with NS Pro 1050 X flex 3-PW, I also ordered an extra MP-33 PW same satin style also 52 & 56* wedges. I will post the pics ASAP. I'm starting to really like Mizuno gear. So far here is what will be in the bag as of next week: Driver: R7 TP Japan GD I-65 Stiff FW: Gauge Design 14* GAF1 w/ proto 75g GD shaft X-Stiff 2U: Taylormade 16* TP Driving Iron w/S300 3U: Taylormade 19* TP Driving Iron w/S300 4-9: Mizuno Custom Satin MP-27 M stamps w/ NS Pro 1050 X PW: Mizuno Custom Satin MP-33 M stamp w/ NS Pro 1050 X Wedges: 52 & 58* Satin M stamp w/ NS Pro 850 X Putter: Gauge Heavy Head Eldik
  9. MP-32 Muscle Back MP T-Series wedge, made with teardrop style shape. retail version is black OX and Limited version is Oil Can. MPUX1, no its not the Hi-FLi
  10. I agree 100%, I am sorry for calling you a cheerleader..he he I agree your opinion IMO is unbiased and honest and thanks for that.
  11. Yes Jim does the best work on woods anywhere. I dont think they do Irons, please keep in mind they dont do foamed heads also. Jim does great work on woods, and his prices are great...however the work mad max does on woods is even better just more expensive. Its obvious you and zip are cheerleaders for BSG, but lets put all aside and look at the work itself. Mad Max don't do the coatings or refinishing he outsources it to another company that specializes in chrome auto parts not golf clubs. I have had 1 set of irons and 5 wedges done by Max's people. the Irons were on par with IF and 2 of the 5 wedges arrived rusting before they even touched grass the other three were refinished by plating Japan due to rusting in the grooves a couple months later but when I got them they looked great! My experience with The Iron Factory was very similar which brings me to the conclusion again that its hit or miss. You either get perfect work or sub standard work. I have only had 2 sets of Irons done by Iron Factory, some of the clubs were perfect some flawed. most flawed. In regards to woods your way off. Show us one pic of the work Max does that can even come close to what Jim can do. Jim is the best no If ands or buts and thats why he does OEM powder coats also for the big boys. Lets compare the pics on the websites they both advertise as their quality work. Custom of CT Custom Club Coatings

  13. As the Tour & Prototype market gets bigger I think there should be a standard applied to the use of the words. Just go to ebay and you will see every club with no serial # being passed as Tour Issue. It is getting way out of hand and also with the word prototype, A true prototype is the first several made of that particular design as a first proof to the owner or R & D team. The outline and schematics are created at a higher price than the retail version because the machines must be configured to build the new design and the hand crafter must learn how its done. Many in the know realize that TM is taking advantage with a market strategy to purposely release small amounts of Tour Issue clubs to capture this niche in the market. This is done on purpose, it is not the caddy's selling their kick backs etc , It is a very successful strategy on their part. There is also the problem of the huge amount of non authorized Grey Tour issues coming from the China factories of Scotty Cameron's, Titleist 970 Silvers, & all Tour Issue TM's. Its an after hours operation at the same factories that produce the actual product and IMO 80% of the Tour TM's are part of this. There are a bunch of companies with poor business ethics out there that will produce 100 - 200 - 300 + prototypes for a Interested buyer, stamping proto is cheap but are they really prototypes....No. This comes back to the good ol ethics, honesty, & Integrity of golf. What should be done to companies that stamp proto on any product? They dilute the entire market and hurt true collectors and high end club enthusiasts. Lets open this topic for a good discussion about what little we can do to help clean up a niche industry becoming very messy and corrupted. Any thoughts or questions are appreciated
  14. I couldn't tell that it was mizuno but if it was it don't look good at all. I'm guessing its hollow because if it wasn't that would be one heavy head. They should ask TSG'rs for a little R & D in the proper direction because what they have now looks like a set of driving irons how the sole resembles the Air Muscle.
  15. It wasn't mine to begin with. I wish it was, I would still probably charge 30.00 but thats still a steal compared to whats out there. Its just too hard because with chromers you just cant have top quality each and every time and thats why I understand mistakes from any re finisher.
  16. Thats an insane swing speed. XX flex Graphite Design M85 tipped.
  17. DaDriver is a TS fan, IMO the Taylormade TP Driving Iron is the best driving Iron ever made as much as I dont care for TM as a brand they do make some great product.
  18. Its hit and miss with refinishing. Mad Max has done some crook things with making used retails in to Satin Tours brand new at the request of Hitler but I have seen his work and its not bad at all. Iron factory I have heard great and bad things about. I don't think its possible to get a completely OEM quality finish from anyone no matter how good they are. Custom of CT don't do their own work, they probably out source to a auto chroming company so you do have a middle man there. Not to rain on anyones party but it only costs the chromer less than 5.00 per head to do it and the middle man gets charged 10.00 a head. so where do people get 45.00 and even worse 60.00 a head, thats insane.
  19. They are gone gone gone, No one was interested only 2 sets were refinished so I gave the service up.
  20. WOW, I never thought id see this :surprize: Ns Pro P.P adjust shaft. Its a proto but I'm curious how it would affect the balance.
