My new Driver in a 3 way shootout!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Its the longest driver I have ever hit, even longer than the MacTec NV3. I found this driver to be very forgiving as well but because it is so hot of the face it seems to get out of control more than the average driver. I had a Fujikura 584HK installed and it brought the flight down and tamed it a bit. If you play the ProV1 X with a high kick shaft this driver is tuned to kill all others out there. I would love to see the results of the long drive contest and the margin it won by if you have the info. -
I always thought all pro spec models were conforming until I saw the 275cc pro spec RX-1 on the non conforming list :-D I'm pretty sure the 315cc version is conforming. Anyone still play these drivers they are insanely great for a small headed club. There are still two in play on the JPGA till this day.

Pics of the new Taylormade R.A.C Driving Iron
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The normal spec looks a little strange but I think the TP looks very good. They made these due to the amount of JPGA players using 3 & 4 CGB Irons over the rescue TP's -

Japan R7 Quad Specs and Information!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Sorry about the lack of pics etc.. this info was just released today by TM Japan and just 10 minutes later I had it up on TSG. What exactly would you like to know? It comes in a normal version, and TP model. The TP is available in X100,S300,NS950. The normal version is available in NS850 and MAS2 60g graphite. The TP has a straight rear piece, thinner top line, less offset, and a more shallow face. These look like the CGB Irons except very classy with its driving/utility/hybrid setup and design. The First batch will be sold fast and thats why i have to pre sell to ensure buyers get theirs shipped the day or day after the earliest release. If they don't sell this week on TSG I will be pushing them off to ebay. I pretty much only have one of each spec/shaft so scoop it up before the one you want is gone and be the first to have them in the States. -

July Release TM Japan Information!!!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I have no idea until next week :-D -
TM Japan has a lot coming out next month, the most exciting release is the TP U.I.T.I Driving Iron which is a minimal offset driving Iron similar to the Fourteen 858. It is part of the TP Series and has a release date of July 10th. The R7 TP will be out mid - late July with 3 graphite design shaft options, 3 Fujikura Shaft options and 2 Mitsubishi shaft options. I can only guess that the Fuji's are 757, 661, & 569. I'm also guessing that the Graphite Design Options are W60, W70 & I-65. I will have exact details and specs on all these clubs including the July release driving iron mid next week. The R7 Limited Hats and Shirts will be released in the U.S later this year made of Cotton instead of the mercerized cool breeze material. The Hats and Shirts I have on ebay come with tags that say: Limited Edition, the shirts retail at 98.00 I'm selling them on ebay now for 75.00 please after they are gone from ebay don't ask me for more they are gone gone gone already.

http://www.ocn.ne.jp/translation/ go to the second box and click the 2nd circle on the bottom. In english the 2nd circle is Japanese ----> English. I found this OCN program to be much better than bablefish.

I'm hearing from the TM Japan Junkies that the same man who created the CTI Driver has been working on the R7 Fairway woods for several months now. This Designer has done the CTI, XR05, XR03, XR05 special edition, XR05 FW and several other projects. My guess is due to the price and designer it will be Japan only. Taylormade is also on its 2nd or 3rd generation prototype of its next driver that will replace the R5 series, please remember the R7 isn't the replacement club for the R5 its just another option to accompany the product line.

Of all the sets Mizuno has ever made my fav is the S-30.
-
I use one of these: You can buy them off the U.S Graphite Design website. I usually line it up toward a dime or 100yen coin and always aim 1ft pass the hole. I never let my wrists break and I keep my head down for 1 second after impact.

If I'm not mistaken, that looks like a beautiful, very limited TS Maru 23 Wedge sitting next to the TM Rac Black. But I could be wrong... Speaking of the Rac Black wedge, that must be an import because I heard that TM doesn't make a Japanese version of the Rac Black wedge, or am I mistaken about that? _________________________________ Getting ready for next weekend's 104th playing of the U.S. Open by constantly watching the entire final televised round on NBC of the 1995 U.S. Open @ Shinnecock Hills, NY! I think your right their TMmike, I have not seen a TM black RAC in Japan in any stores.

I'm an anser putter freak yet sometimes get into a phase where i cant make a putt. I have found owning two putters one neo mallet and one anser style to help me a lot when my stroke is lame or for whatever reason putts are not dropping. You have probably seen my pink piggy anser putter and I also have a retail gauge Eldik. I play one till it goes stale then i switch over and so on. This has helped me big time and I suggest it to anyone who plays anser style putters. Whatever MOI you use i highly suggest it, its been a help to me to switch out every so often. Anyone have a close experience to what I have found?

OK i recently got a fourteen proto 371 driver w/GD W70 shaft and was liking it due to its forgiveness for an open face driver, not at all like a maru or pro spec. Recently I have been able to hit the the Synergy Deep and X-Drive 390 High Rally ( non pro spec ). of all three the launch angle on the Synergy deep was perfect anywhere from 11*-16* on average. The face is deep and square, its non conforming and feels much better than a fusion. On the swing analysis monitor i was getting 257yds carry with about 5-10yds roll. The X-390 was very good also scoring more roll 10 - 15yds yet at a lower launch angle and the high rally was loads more forgiving than the pro spec version. I will never play or suggest a pro spec to anyone anymore unless they swing 110+ with a right to left ball flight. I now have some serious decision making to do. Here is how I rank them: Forgiveness: 1st: X-390 high rally 2nd: Synergy DEEP 3rd: Fourteen 371 proto Distance: 1st: Synergy DEEP 2nd: Fourteen 371 proto 3rd: X-390 high rally Feel: 1st Fourteen 371 proto 2nd X-390 high rally 3rd: Synergy Deep Its very confusing because each is great for its own reason. If i wanted forgiveness i would play a launcher 460 or Tobunda 460. If its feel only I could always play a 9.5 MR-23, J340 or RX-1. Distance - the NV3 or Honma 420RF. The three drivers i most recently tested are a compromise of all three categories. I'm thinking about an R7 TP 10.5 with an open face and high kick shaft also. Anyone get their Tour R7's yet? I'm interested in trajectory Issues vs the retail model, even the 8.5 retail R7 flys to high for me.
