MP 27s
I have only the long irons, but from my memory I can not confirm that when I saw the whole set in the shop. I´d say they have (or at least) look like constant offset at the max. 3 and 4 look identical to me. Hope that helps.

MP 27s
Ziggy, Can you compare the forgiveness of the MP-27 3-5I and the Z101 3-5I with the Tunsten insert? Thanks. To me, forgiveness is really hard to measure. I´d say that both clubs hit it similar in terms of getting the ball up nicely. The tungsten insert of the Z101 does the same as the wider sole of the MP-27 I guess. Both do not dig (which is more important for me), maybe the 27s even less than the Z's. Off-center hits seem to travel a big further with the MP27. The MP27 have a slightly wider top line and a touch more offset. Really great irons. If you are a good enough iron player to consider any of these sets, you´ll be able to adjust to both of them real quickly. Good luck!

MP 27s
I play the 3 and 4 iron in a mixed set with MP-32. I like to explain these as "forged RAC LT". Great clubs. Hard to understand why they are Japan only.

Broke the Fuji SIX in my J340...SIX vs 553?
The SIX was one of the longest shafts I´ve ever had. If you have any chance to get a 671TE, you´ll forget about the SIX really quickly. It´s a bit heavier, offers the same distance with more control. No matter how hard you hit it. Sorry, I can´t offer any experience with the 553, just wanted to mention abother SIX alternative.

FS: Sonartec SS03 15 with Fuji 857 ProTi Stiff, 9.9/10
Title says it all. Club is like brand new. Used for one round and a couple of range balls. I wanted to try it as an alternative to my SS07/869, but it´s not different enough to justify hanging around.... SS03: needless to say anything. One of the best. This one sits 110% dead square. Since the new Sonartecs will be the same size but will have lost their unique features (penetrating ball flight), the SS03 will remain a true classic. 857 ProTi: one of the best - and still one of the most expensive - FW shafts ever made. Hits it a bit lower than the Speeder 869. VERY smooth and easy to load. The club looks like new. The shaft has been pulled once by a Pro Clubmaker and is 100% perfect. Untipped S flex, plays true to flex in the SS03. The club is currently in Europe. I´m willing to ship anywhere in the world, but probably Europe incl. UK will be most reasonable. There´s no rush to sell and I only want to recover my costs since this is a truly rare combo: xxx $ for the head and xxx $ for the shaft. Total xxx,- $. Plus shipping. The shaft alone costs 275$ if you can find one.... Pics available. Over 100 positive ebay feedback plus several successful deals here and on other forums. Please PM me with offers... Ziggy

That sounds like a dream driver. Can you order a dead square head and slightly more loft as well? Looking for a 9.5 to 10 degrees Prospec dead square. If that´s possible, I´m the first candidate to order one. Thanks, Ziggy

My new SCRATCH sticks !!
I just started with a question and then my opinion, my intent was not to share the info I am now having to because of people always calling me to the point. I know your a big time scratch supporter primo, but your eye is far from critical. Your telling me the grind work for Scratch Customs is on par with any other brands is WILD. Of the 13 Scratch Customs I have purchased not one has been on par with any other brand on the market. NOT 1 them ain't good odds. I shouldn't have to teach you what to look for and if you don't see it on your own you most likely never will. If I had your Custom 52 in my hand I could spot out flaws in seconds. I'm no grind guru but I know that non golfing laborers who do grinding for OEMS are able to make every line smooth, rounded, with no transition errors even implement basic techniques that scratch has not perfected yet, and this is all pre finish. There are areas on scratch where I can almost count on things being un flush. I can post more pics if you want of every area I am talking about , but do we really need to? Its not good for Scratch. Many customers know exactly what I'm talking about already and customers with a not so critical eye will never notice the flaws. I play the scratch OTR's and like them a lot, these are strictly problems with the wedges hand done by the guys at Scratch in the U.S. In grinding apprenticeship a formal training is necessary unless there is some major natural talent within. Sword makers have apprentices for 20 years. at Ishihara MOZ there are apprentices also. The people at the factories in China or elsewhere had to all go through basic grinding technique do's and donts. I don't know who is doing the grinds for the U.S customs but error after error followed by promises then error again IMO means more attention to detail and training is needed. Usually when a company manufactures large amounts of product there are errors but when making small amounts & single wedges at a time the ability to make sure everything is flawless and perfect shouldn't be an issue. Take MOZ for an example, have you ever seen a more flawless hand made wedge? Zero Errors or they toss the head. Thats the way it should be or at least close. No stamping bumps, leading edge, neck, or top line flaws should be seen on any brand or any wedge period. Great information. If you spend the additional $$ for a custom set, it should be 100% and not less. I´d love to get my hands on a top-class custom set, made by a master craftsman specifically for my needs.....with exactly the features that you described. I come from the sporting goods industry and I was used to have only the best custom made prototypes and hand selected equipment (Surfing, Skiing) for my own personal use.... You would not believe the difference in detail between a "stock" product and a custom made in any industry.

Help..TM300 Miura, Tourstage us spec mr-23 or Miura 201
Hi Tommy, I´ve played all irons (or close brothers of them) that you´re interested. Here are my comments (as good as I can describe): TM 300: great set of clubs. I only had the retail set. Quite large face, probably the largest ones of your selection. Some digging issues, but this could be the reason they made the "NS" grind. Seems to be a classic already. Miura 201: I played the CB1005, which are very similar. The only problem I had was the size and the look of the short irons. I´ve seen the 201 on a trade show, and I did not find a huge difference to the japanse version. I must admit I did not inspect them side by side, but my memory could not discover a huge difference. The 1005 mid and long irons are probably the best feeling forged CB on the market. RAC CB 2004 are in the same category, or close enough to be mentioned here - with all pros and cons. Z101: Really great set. No digging issues, plenty forgiving for that small size. Close to no offset and great feel as well. All irons have the perfect size. You can find them pretty cheap now, and I won´t have any problems playing them again. I bought them because I did not want to spend the money for a set of MR23, which were really expensice back then. MR23 US CB That´s what I currently play - and always wanted to play. They are really close to the Z101, but even a bit smaller. The short and mid irons are a dream. perfect sole shape, absolutely non-digging (big issue for me). Great ballflight as well. When we are talking about 3,4,5 irons, the picture changes a bit though. They are really small and you need to hit the club really consistently to get the performance you want. 5 iron is still ok, but 3 and 4 are hard to hit well. There ars blades on the market that are more (much more) forgiving than these "cb". From a looks and coolness (and confidence) factor, I´d go with the MR23. Forgiveness is probably best with the Miuras and TM. The Z101 are in between and probably the best choice overall. for your info: driver ss 110, mph, Hcp 5.9, 150 yards club: 8 iron (sometimes 7, it depends)

Mizuno Question ??
I´ve seen the new MP32 last week for the first time in real on the Munich Golf Europe show, and they look even better than on the pics. They could be the new holy grail for me, because the sole shape and mass distribution looks like non-digging and high-trajectory all the way. Real classy looks at adress. I currently experiment a bit with the long end of my bag, because I don´t get enough consistent performance out of my MR23 long irons (simply too hard to hit consistently well). The MP32 look like they could be the ticket for 2005 though.... As much as I LOVE the MR23 short and mid irons, their time could be over sooner than later. So if you think about getting any Mizunos, I won´t pull the trigger before trying the MP32´s... Just my 2 cnts.
