Must Go! 580 XD tour 9.5
I figured everyone lowballs so If I would have started at 250.00 I guarantee you I would get an offer for 210.00 and I wasnt going to let that happen. My offer states 295.00 or best offer, thats BEST OFFER! I just wanted to get my money back. But, being I start my job with Taylor made in the spring, I made a few phone calls and I have it taken care of. So I dont need to hear squat from you or your friend MAX!! :-) Thread jack somewhere else! Grant

Fujikura Shaft question.
Guys, Thanks for your help here. I dont want anyone wasting to much time on this issue of mine, but I do appreciate the help. If I had the perfect shaft it would be slightly softer in the mid section and have the same tip as the Purple Ice. I would also like it to be about 65-70 grams. I am looking for something exotic in a shaft because I have a 580xd tour coming thursday. Its my first tour club and I want that SOB to be PIMP. But, PIMPEN aint easy, so now im trying to do pimpen on a budget or sloppy seconds. I figure I would find a pulled shaft that you guys recommend. Heres my choice in the style department GD I-65 W-70, Fujikura Tourspec or Hcom series. The Six's are a cheap shaft to try but Im thinking I will be snap hooking everything with it. bottom line, if it dont pimp, Im kicken it to the curb! Its ALL :nos**t: J/K. Grant

Fujikura Shaft question.
Quick question: What length shaft will I need to make my 580xd tour 45" I was wondering insertion depth but I figured I should know shaft length then I will know what the actual head depth is? I also have a couple of offers on the Six and I would like to know if there is any difference with the TP Six and the actual blue-grey, Fuji speeder six? Final question. What is the difference between. Fit on 11 SIX, TP SIX, Hcom six, Tourspec six and the SIQ? Thank you again. Grant

Fujikura Shaft question.
I never spent a lot of time with the YS-6, but I did hit it and just didnt seep to get a much of a pop from the shaft. Maybe It was just a bad round, it was very early in the year. Do you think I would be going in the right direction by choosing the SIX? Thanks, Grant

Fujikura Shaft question.
I have a 580XD tour head coming and I would like to install a Fujikura tourspec shaft that would give me a ball flight similar to a 580xd retail head with a purple ice (S) flex I played earlier this year, maybe slightly lower. I thought I wanted a SIX but now Im not sure. I am definately a swinger with about a 110 SS. I like a softer feeling tip. I have hit many shafts NV65, to boardy and stiff, Graffaloy prolite and blue, both to boardy. YS 6 and 7, again to stiff, but better feel. I have also hit the Taylormade Mitsubishi shafts that were available through the custom order department, both the Tour stiff and the Hank Kuhne and both were again to stiff, and I hit them low and right. I like to play a high draw but dont want it getting out of hand so I miss way left. Im not sure where to go for the answer so I thought someone here may be able to point me in the right direction. Help Please! :wah: Grant

WTB: Fujikura Six (S) tourspec
Im looking for a (S) flex Fujikura Six- tour Spec/or Z-com. Would prefer a pulled shaft in excellent shape no tip trim, or a new shaft that someone is willing to let go fairly cheap. I will be installing it on a 580XD tour head, and want it to play at 45". Thanks, Grant [email protected]

Best Wedge Shaft
I think you should be in Senior flex anyway. Try some fiberglass shafts, they might be your ticket. :-) Why are you getting the blacks? Get some tours or even the new satins. The blacks just felt to crisp to me, oh yea i forgot, thats why you hit the rock flights!! :-D Lets play one of these days next week. We are going to andy's party in St.Cloud tomorrow night. Imight have to call you for a ride home. :beer2: :beer2: :beer2: Take care. Later, G

Best Wedge Shaft
El-loco, :afro: Have you hit anything that has been soft stepped? Wedges use a 37 inch TT shaft and if you put in a 37.5 inch TT, it should soften up the feel and still give a nice penetrating ball flight like the great DG shafts always do. DG's are still tough to beat. Although I have no experience with Nippon shafts, my reading leeds me to believe that these are a little soft and may not deliver a ball flight to your liking. Are these similar to the Rifles? Anyone? . :-) Dude dont ditch the DG's, just soft step them! "The Kid" Your Putter is almost done. Grant

New Taylor Made equipment review
The differences are subtle, but noticeable. The new Lt's, the whole line actually, seems to have what I call the "tourstage US Spec CB" look. Kind of like the new milled proto style. It says here in my new Taylor Made catalog that TM changed the MOI and CG buy repositioning 16 grams of weight from the tuned weight cartridge. They also put new shafts in them, T-step professional/ 110 gram. Hope that helps. G

Anyone reshafted a C4 yet?
I agree its not a .350 but with the CSS2 (cant remember which ferrule for sure) the .350 tip will fit snug in the bottom and it will be perfectly centered in the hosel because of the press type fit on the ferrule. I have done about a half dozen and have had none returned. There is probably more than one way not sure. Grant

Anyone reshafted a C4 yet?
whoever is still playing a C4 shouldnt be too picky about shafts anyway, so I m sure there will be something available with a .350 tip. Then use the CSS or CSS2 ferrules from golfsmith and it should work great. Make sure to clean out the shaft area in the head good too. It will fit tight when you push the shaft and ferrule in together. Good luck. any probs, send me a PM. G

New Taylor Made equipment review
I met with our Taylor Made rep today and he just recieved his new stuff. R5-D Big club...450cc? I cant remember. The club sets up around 1.5 to 2 degrees closed. Obviously, is targeted at the slicer. I currently hit the 580XD and didnt see any real difference. I hit it very well with the stock shafts. It definately gravitates towards the left side of the fairway, but I guess thats what its supposed to do. :-D R5-N Supposedly its square but it almost looked a touch closed, might have been my hangover :beer2: I really liked this club ball flight was a touch higher than my 580XD but its probably because of the shafts. The 5 duals have a nice sound, maybe a touch tinnier than the 580xd. The shafts didnt seem to be anything speacial. Interesting to see what better shafts would do for them. I think Im gettting used to these larger heads because I think I like them better than the R7. I better hit the R7 a couple of more times to be sure. :-D I believe Taylor made has a great product here at an excellent price point. I also hit the new Irons. I noticed they dumped the HT line, which wasnt a bad idea IMHO. I have been waiting for the new CB's but I wasnt all that impressed. I didnt care much for the looks yet they were nicer than the pictures I seen. I played MP-14's for 6 years prior to my month old set of PING I3+blades, so my comparisons will be based on these. CB- first thing was the clubs felt really heavy to me (dont forget my hangover) :punch: The rep said they were at D2 swing weight which is heavy for me but I believe they are stock swing weights, I have been playing C6-C7sw in my clubs. After a couple of swings I didnt like them, I dont know why just didnt. Extremely disappointed. I think the lofts are the older standards because I was about 10-15 yards off my clubs, which were 10-15 yards longer than my Mizuno's but... I did hit the 3-6-9 so I feel I can make an honest assesment. The clubs felt nice but so do most other new forged clubs so thats not anything amazing or new. They arent as forgiving as the pings I play but it was nice to work the ball again with these. I dont think Taylormade improved much on the older CB's. I am going to see if they can get me some other shafts and lower swing weight and then try them again. Lt's- Super club. Nice soft lines, a bit thicker topline than I like but just a wonderful club to hit. Very similar to feel and distance as the Pings. The new style looks nice on this club and I think people will be wanting these irons, both high and low handicappers. Os- Fun club to hit. I hit the OS with graphites and had a ball. Deffinately a game improvement club, and it will do that if your game is struggling. No matter how bad I tried to hit it, it still flew straight. Good club. Finally, I hit the new satin wedge. This to felt heavy to me. I hit a few shots to the green with it and it seem to really cut through the turf and deliver lots of spin. I was amazed. My wedges probably need some attention on the grooves and leading edge, which is probably why I was so excited to use this club durring our round If anyone is in the market for some new clubs Taylor made has a great line up coming into next year, so make sure to check them out. Question on: 300 tour- 510df- 510tp- 510 tour
my 983kdriver and the rest of my clubs for that matter, left me for a month, and I switched to the 580 retail and now Im back on track again. I have yet to hit any tour clubs but sure would like to give it a try. I had another friend get his retail R7 today with a YS-7 in it and he hates it. I would never bash Taylor made, but the retail R7 really seems to be a dog. I wont be going to an R7 now after my experiences with it. I am on the hunt for a 9.5 510DF with an actual loft closer to 10 if anyone has one. Maybe even cheap? :spit: :money: Whats the longest head in your opinions? Has to be the Taylormade line sorry. G

Shaft Pullers
Which model of the Mitchell puller? I like the cheaper unit in the catalog because it pushes the club head off instead of pulling it off, like the golfsmith unit. I have used the golf smith unit and it seems to get close to scratching the head on long pulls like the titleist heads. I want it to push it off so theres nothing for it to get hung up on. What do you think? www.mitchellgolf.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=1183

Grafalloy "ProLaunch Blue" vs. Grafalloy "Blu
I believe from playing the shafts theres quite a difference. Theres also alot of models in each line up make sure you compare similar ones. If you were to compare the pro-launch 65 to the original blue in 65 grams, there would be 4 major differences, IMHO. Blue- low torque- high kick point- harsh feel, IMO- tip stiff Pro-launch blue- low kick point- softer feel- higher torque- softer tip I kind of wished Graffaloy didnt call it the Blue Pro-launch because people are trying to compare the two and IMO they're not really compareable. Best of luck. G
