Qualitydaydreams Bag **PiCs**
They look very nice to be sure. I'm hanging on to my Z's for some time to come though. I've had more than a couple of those great misses that were either thin or off center and I'm certain I have a lot more work to do only to see myself on the green or just on the fringe. Those MR-23s are just great looking, though.

Scotty Cameron Authenticity
That DL III work on the grip looks pretty shaky to me and for most of the "authentic" SC tour putters you see on eBay, the pics give much more detail. It could be the real deal but most of the ones that are are well documented. Here's one that was definitely authentic: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MEBWA%3AIT&rd=1

Here's my swing
Other than the previous comments the one thing I notice is that at the top of the swing the line from your right shoulder to your left is very upright. If you take the upper line on the "T" you have drawn and align it with the shoulders it changes dramatically from the third and fourth frame to the sixth. Of course this just could be camera angle and I'm just talking out my divot.

Tourspecgolf R700 thread! ** PICS**
wow who advised them on thier shaft options Callaway???  PURE POOP! I've never liked the TM MAS2 shafts either. They seemed to have this very narrow range of swing speeds and tempo that the shafts will work well with. With all this tech that they put into creating the head you would think they would either do a little more R&D on shafts or give you a wider range of shafts to choose from. I'm really not too interested in TM products as of late anyways. Our assistant pro has been getting a lot of nice tour only gear that is nothing like the normal retail version with the same models on them. They are really nice clubs that he has but if you hit his and then went and bought the retail version of them you would be one unhappy consumer.

Great pictures! Those things have a seriously deep looking face on them. I know these are really gonna take some deep pockets if you want one within a year of release.

General BS Thread
CLMelton replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearDefinitely agree. Respectful debate can be good and the first one that sinks to vulgarity loses respect and credibility. I'm totally into the hats! Black is okay but I'm in Arizona and a black hat means my hair might catch on fire.

Tried VJs glove under the pit drill
It kept me from just raising my arms at the top of the swing and promoted more shoulder turn going back and coming through. I saw it somewhere in one of those magazine tips and it helped with my consistency.

Tried VJs glove under the pit drill
I had worked on a towel or driver head cover under the right arm to make sure I wasn't getting too far away from the body. I've never tried or heard of the glove under the left arm. I'll give it a shot today and see how it works. My favorite drill that I always return to is half swing where the arms make it to the nine o'clock position at the back, I make a downswing and try to stop the arms before they get past three. It helps me feel the wrists unlock and rotate at impact. I catch myself blocking the forearms from rotating and it leaves the clubhead open to push or slice on the longer clubs. I try to work on this drill once or twice a week and it helps a lot.

General BS Thread
CLMelton replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gearerr... yeah well I think I might have crossed that line in one or two of my posts in the general area... it just angers me that Chris has to run this place in constant fear that it will be maliciously hacked. I figured I'd come down to the basement and cool off a little... But that's what the OB section is for. You vent, chill and then talk about good old '70s style pr0n. Personally, I'm working on the whole hacking thing as I have a few friends on the Dark Side of the net but they scare the hell out of me whenever I contact them. Kind of like going to see Hannibal Lecter to help catch the serial killer (or is that the ceral killer who only eats Wheaties with Wayne Getzky on the box). EDIT: The only reason I'm asking for the help from these guys is to help tighten up security. I'm not looking to get anybody hacked. -CL Melton

General BS Thread
CLMelton replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearThis is such a great place to come and learn about golf equipment and other golf ideas. There is a level of decency and respect between posters here that you don't find at other sites.

General BS Thread
CLMelton replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI'm just a little ways south of Tucson and could only get in four holes today before it started snowing. Family is visiting this week and Saturday is supposed to be mid-60s, the first decent day in a week. I spent a week in Vegas last year. Only place I could play at a decent price was at Nellis AFB, just $10 for the cart. Coolest part was the jets taking off along parallel to one of the fairways. Nothing like having a downswing going as a jet is ripping right along.

Hitting off of Mats
The only thing I really hate about our mats are those big, fat, white tees that sit up about 3 inches. I've found that if I take my Swiss Army knife with me and use the leather punch I can make a nice hole in the mat that is perfect for a wooden tee. Here I am in Arizona and our course refuses to use a decent turf grass or overseed in the winter on the course or the range. No wonder they are losing money.

Best Instruction Books???
As far as the mental side of golf goes I'm partial to "Zen Golf" and "Mind Over Golf." Both have some great things to work on to keep you focused on the task at hand. Regardless of what some might think of Dave Pelz personally, I do like most of "Dave Pelz' Short Game Bible." You have to read through a lot of stuff to get to the instruction portion but he has what I think is some fairly sound instruction in it.

Swing Psychology
I missed this post for awhile so sorry for being late on a comment. There is a point of diminishing returns in trying to work on too many things at one time. Minor adjustments here and there are okay but if you are trying to work on grip, starting the backswing, staying on plane, rotating the hips, stay behind the ball, roll your forearms at impact and get to the high finish all at once it will be a disaster. Try one or two things at the most and focus on them until you find it's second nature, maybe one or two practice sessions and then move on to other changes. If you want to read some books on the mental aspects of golf then you might try looking at "Zen Golf" or "Mind Over Golf." Both are really good on mental exercises for all types of situations. I've personally found "Zen Golf" to be very helpful and still read through parts to find something new for my game. Some people really like the Dr Rotella books but I find that there was just more anecdotal examples and not enough exercises to work on.
