  1. Guys I would like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. May all you bellies be full! I love this smiley
  2. Ari these are great looking. At first I did not like the new Script but it is growing on me fast. Great job! :tsg_smilie_cool:
  3. Well Gents it has been a couple of weeks since this thread showed up in the new posts so I thought I would get it going again. About three weeks ago I shot my career best round of even par 72. I then did not play for two weeks and went out and shot a nice 82. I am sure my team was so happy since I was the A man. At least we won a side due to my three birdies in a row on holes 3, 4, and 5. I absouletly hate the weather and time change. I get into a funk so bad when the weather gets like this. I think I need a sun lamp. I hate golf with more clothes on. Other than my complaints things are going good. The dog is healthy and a great help when a day goes south. I hope all of you are doing good. I see a few of you some on golfwrx. I was just wondering how all of you are doing. Alan
  4. I remember the Macgregor one but I could swear Titleist also made one and for some reason I remember it having a cross-hair on it. I may be wrong though.
  5. The size of that thing reminds me of a Titleist putter I saw once. That thing was huge...I just cannot remember the name of it.
  6. Thanks for the info xxio. I saw somebody using one the other day and I was just curious about the info. Your Katana looks nice but I am putting so well with my Scotty Pro Platinum Laguna 2 that it is not going to be going anywhere soon.
  7. I saw the above mentioned putter the other day and I was wondering more about it. Can any of you guys help with some info. Is this the model Kevin Burns made for Tourstage? Thanks in advance. Alan
  8. Shoe you will have to let us know when you finish the project. I remember the time I took on a painting job when I was in high school. Needless to say it took 3 times as long as expected and I think I cleared about 50 bucks after the 3 weeks. Last monday was an interesting day for me. I played a local course that is tighter than my normal course and I have never broken 80 on it. I shot 79 from the blues (6509 yards 71.3/125). Then i got in the car and went to my regular course to play 18 more and opened with a career low 33 on the front nine. 3 birdies (two in a row on 7 and 8). I then came back to reality and shot 43 on the back. I got to thinking all I need was a 38 to shot my first ever under par round. Lets just say the brain got in the way. I did pick up a Titleist 503h w/ Aldila NV85 hybrid shaft for 125.00 broand new. I thought what they heck. So far with limited use it is one of the better hybrids I have tried and I was not hooking the crap out of it. I could actually hit a fade with it. We will see how it works out. I really don't know why I got it. I love my 2 iron and hit it well...oh well why do we buy things we don't need. I hope you guys have a great weekend. Alan
  9. And I remember you telling me before about liking the 75 better. I think I am going to go that route because I love my driver but the shaft is fighting me and has been for a while but I have fit myself to it and I am tired of doing that. Now I just have to get a shaft and put it in there. Nice drive and nice 1 over on the back. Thanks for the tip info Andy.
  10. Yes Andy I think it was the quality made irons. I was thinking about extending the Cobras but after the last few rounds with the 32's the cobras are just going to sit here. I have hit the mp60 and it feels nice and sets up well. I might order a 2 iron and 4 iron in them. Lance I am jealous also since I hit the green also and had about a 15 foot eagle putt...missed it and got birdie...big whoop when someone holes out for a 1. I am thinking of getting a bridgestone 460 with either an aldila nv65x or nv75s. I am having to hold back some and delay release to stay away from the left side. I guess the cheaper route would be just to put a new shaft in my head. Hmmm
  11. Guys I just thought I would share with you all that I shot my career low round yesterday. I shot 72...3 birdies, one double, one bogey and the rest pars. The double came on a par three that I have not hit it into the water in a year. Oh well I was very happy. Also in the same round I got to witness something I thought I would never see. One of my playing partners got a hole in one on a par 4. Do you call it a hole in one or a double eagle? Either way it was sweet.
  12. I feel like I have gone to a family reunion with all of you guys posting in here this week. Mike I hope that beeper goes off soon and you can get better. I have been pretty busy with work and have squeezed in a couple of rounds. I actually played 18 yesterday in 1 hour and 50 minutes. It was great. Got 32 holes in about 4 hours after I paired up with a buddy for the last 14 holes. Lance I think you have surpassed Andy as the uber-ho of the bunch. Guys have a great weekend.
  13. That is a nice looking iron. The back looks like a cross between a TM300 and a Z101 (it is a stretch but there are similarities)
  14. Shoe you hit the nail on the head. I was not trying to over do it. I was remembering my neck and just swinging easier. I need a new shaft for the driver. I am getting all the carry I could ever need but I am getting no roll. I am happy with the distance but not with the height of the tee shot. Not a rainbow but high and it comes down soft. I am thinking Accuflex Evolution. I would like to do the 757 route but cannot afford one. I used one in a 510tp before I got hurt and it was great. The dog is great. His name is Hank. He gets a 4-5 mile walk every night and right now we are working on fetching and then coming back. He has the fetch down but likes to take the scenic route back. He is great. Have a great week guys. Wonder what AK, Lance, and Mike are up to?
  15. Shoe: The kid got the guns from his guardian. They were kept out and not locked so they will be charged also. I agree with you on where the world has/is going and it is sad. I live in a rural county and the school I teachat...well lets just say everyone was saying they never thought it would happen here but guess what folks that is what everyone says when it happens in their community. The dog is here to stay. His name is Hank. I put in a 30x30 foot chain link fence over Labor Day weekend so he has a place to stay during the day. Great dog just have to do some obedience training with him. Today I am taking him down to the lake to see if he likes to swim. He should since he is part lab/part golden retriever. I played for the first time last night in 4 weeks. I have not swung a club in 4 weeks. I warmed up and then we went out at 5:50 pm and got 18 holes in 2 hours and 10 minutes. I had 3 birdies, 4 bogeys, and 11 pars for a 73....sank a 5 foot putt almost in the dark for bird on 18. My partner hod 5 birdies and an eagle and shot 72 with 2 doubles. I have a new putter so to say. A little history first...when I first started playing my father got me a ping pal 4 black stainless back in 1993. This putter got stolen from me in 1995. I have been looking for one every since. I found one this week brand new. A guy on ebay was selling his ping putter collection and he had a Pal 2 black stainless so I pulled the trigger. I know it is not the pal4 but just glad to have one back in my possession. I am going to post pics on golfwrx of the putter and sweet black Ping headcover that I also won on ebay. Thats all for now. Have a great weekend guys.
  16. Hip: Thanks. Last night after I typed all of that I felt like I relaxed more. I think the dog is staying. He and I just came in from a session of tennis bone (a bone that is made like a tennis ball) and he is doing pretty good. I am more than likely going to erect a fence in the back yard for the dog house so he has a place to stay when I am at work. He is a great pup. Alan
  17. Shoe, Let me say that a steroid shot is a good thing. I am feeling better but have waited to swing a club. I want it to heal...not just feel better for one round. He said it was more than likely due to my traveling and having to sleep in small beds...I am 6'2 and was sleeping in a single bed for 3 weeks....and the amount of golf I have played over the summer. I have right at 40 rounds this year so far. My swing is smooth but hard and long and I think I just put too much stress on the neck but I love to hit the ball hard. I have been quite neglectful of my postings. Things have been very busy for me. There was a shooting at the school I teach at. One boy was shot in the leg but he was part of the group and knew what he was doing. They did not mean to shhot him but did accidently. He is okay but under house arrest being charged with conspirarcy to commit murder alon with the other two. This was stressful but I was not worried about my self. I went straight into my protector mode. The kids came first and they were all calm...they did not know what was going on since we were in lockdown. On Sunday a new member of the family was added...although it might be temporary. This beautiful about 6 month old yello lab/golden retriver mix followed me home from the boat ramp at the end of the street and has been here every since. He is a great dog but I am still treating him as a temporary guest. Although I have noticed I have been more relaxed. I always have problems with stress and it comes out as a burning pain in each side of my abdomen and it has not been there for the last few days. Maybe he is my good thing to balance the bad. What bothers me the most was one of the kids I had when I was in the 5th grade and last year I went to the funeral for his mother and sisters (killed in a car wreck...he lost his father 3 years ago. I know I really did not make a point above but I just needed to get this off of my chest. Guys I hope you are all doing good.
  18. Pete good to hear you are liking the driver. Mike I looked into a bike last year but did not get one but would love to get a cruiser. With gas prices getting higher and higher here it woud be nice to get 50 mph per gallon. I am down for the next two weeks (not counting the past two. Neck is acting up and the doc said no golf for 2 weeks. He says I torqued it to much. I guess having 40 rounds in already this year will do that.
  19. The Dead for fundraising? What kind of fundraising was it? That just does not seem right.
  20. Mike what kind of bike do you ride? I hope you get the call you want very soon and you get to feeling better soon. Shoe I know how you feel. I get bored on the range and just start into the rapid fire mode. I Have been playing more this summer and it has helped more than last year when i tried the practice more routine. I am putting the clubs down for a few weeks. I played last week and the left side of my neck down through the outside of my should started hurting. I went to warm up today and could only make half of a swing back and half through so I left. Great...I have been having a pretty good summer. Oh well. I hope everyone is doing good. Alan
  21. Pete...don't get rid of the 1.5. You might come to love her again someday. Glad to hear the RedX is working for you. I got 4 holes in today before I saw lightning and called it quits. Did not hear the first thunder. What was funny as the skies were darkening and becoming louder there where still people coming in and teeing off. Better them than me.
  22. Aww come on Lance....don't you know it is just a dry heat out there. It really doesn't feel that hot. Guys I am off to Florida again in the morning...woohoo...the land of dial up so I do not know how much I will be on. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
  23. Shoe it sounds like you had a blast at the infomercial. I agree with Pete that you are going to have to let us know when it airs so we can recognize you. I think that watching the club and not the ball when I was putting with the Monza was my problem also and the fact that I take the putter back way too far on the backswing but it works for me and my Laguna 2 so I am not changing anything....although I might send the putter to Cameron to be refinished.
  24. Well gents I am glad to hear someone can get along with a mallet. I for one cannot. I tried the Monza for quite a few months and the weight of it really threw my stroke off so I got my Laguna 2 back out and things have been golden every since. I needed something lighter than the monza. I played 36 today...shot 78 from the whites on the first 18 (6068 yds) and then shot 78 (6710 yds) from the blues. Could have played a lot better but tyhe right elbow is a little sore from the other day. I washed, used a clay bar, and waxed my car. Took about 4-5 hours. It looks good though and it feels like glass. Good luck in your searches for putters. Speaking of searches...are we going to have to send out a search party for Andy?
  25. Pete hang in there...the rain will soon cease. Are you still in Philly or are you in Augusta again? Lance glad you are feeling better....what are the new toys? No golf for me this weekend...the neck flaring up again...last year elbows and now neck this year....damnit. Have a great week guys.
