  1. Srixon W302 Tour (square face) Conforming, 8.5*, w/ Mitsubishi Rayon S-Trixx Lightning Tour US Spec Stiff shaft @ 45", D2. Golf pride decade lite grip. US$200 shipped and Paypal'd to the US. Can take pics later if interested. Thanks, Didier
  2. Excellent pictures. Thanks tsunglin.
  3. I like a more rounded wedge and no.2 looks best to me although the mid-2 might also work if the offset isn't too pronounced. I remember the wedges from my set of X5000s which were square and offset - hated them. Have seen the 1 and 3 which are too square for my liking but would love to see/hit the 2 and mid-2 side by side. Having a more rounded head allows me to set the wedge however I want without it feeling odd. For alignment purposes, I focus on the bottom few grooves rather than the leading edge. There's nothing like having a set of wedges that you love and have full confidence you can hit any shot with. On the hunt for a new set since my Gold's are pretty beat up. Custom Mizzys seem like the way to go but I also like TS.
  4. If blackoxideservice.com is indeed the company doing the 3XB work, then I highly recommend them. I purchased a 3XB Red X off Ebay and have been very impressed by the quality of the finishing. Compared to my Tour Del Mar 3.5 3XB, the finish on my Red X is much nicer! Seems very durable and the colour is truly black whereas the finish on my Tour Scotty is slightly chocolatey (if that's a word). Fyi, this is the putter I purchased; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=7134492635 I absolutely love it.
  5. Seeing those kids was enought to convince not to go near them at Citygolf. Still waiting for lazy ass Derek Fung to find me someone. IYGL is supposed to be good - might check them out. Did you see the link that Pureblade posted? Ever heard of them?
  6. Hey Mark, Long time indeed, how's your game? I was having all my work done at G1 Golf by Franki but he's gone to Macau and now the young kid is doing all the work. Too many new guys in HK that I wouldn't trust and I agree that Central Golf has all the equipment but I don't get a great feel from Teddy. Derek Fung says he'll find me the best guy around but he's been out of town. Didier
  7. Could we get more pics of the wedges? Putters look nice as well.
  8. Any info from the company regarding product attributes/benefits? How do the wedges differ from previous MT-28s? Driver looks pretty nice as well. JC371 was 371cc but JC305 is 396cc...go figure. I assume they will offer all the GD shaft options?
  9. Godzilla must have taken up golf... The new X-Blade seems a little more square than old one? Looks alone won't make me try but perhaps more details about the new forging process - multi-forged maybe?
  10. Forget Fuji, the way forward is GD Tour AD
  11. Sold. Sorry Zojo.... :smile2:
  12. Will get around to it. If you can come to Central, I can show you the real thing too. Thanks. Didier Thanks Didier. Unfortunately I'm currently in Shanghai, so I'll wait for the photos for the time being. Already have a deal pending but give me your email and i'll send pics.

  14. Found myself on a recent putter craze and have accumulated too many. Took my 3XB Scotty Red X on the course today and it's here to stay for a while. So, my Gold's Factory M-402W (white sight line) needs a new home. It's a beautifully crafted putter and in 9/10 condition. Letting it go for the steal of the week @ $250! shipped! Anyone interested please send me an email, I may not answer PMs as quickly; [email protected] Thanks, Didier
  15. I can only assume that multiple forged means the metal is "kneaded" several times over - sort of like kneading dough in order to get all the air bubbles out so that it's much more consistent. Interesting concept. The 02 seems to have a shallower muscle than the 03 in spite of having the same bounce angle. What would be the performance differences between the two? Perhaps 02 for tighter lies and 03 for softer conditions?
  16. Great pics. The club's profile looks amazing. Too bad the graphics are so tacky from a HO's perspective  They look real solid. Let us know how they play.
  17. Let me think about that. Problem is that clubmaking alone wouldn't be commercially viable and equipment retail isn't great either. I've got an idea! Come over and work on my clubs first
  18. You ever try Teddy at Central Golf? Not sure whether he's that good but given the huge investment they have in the place, I would assume they selected someone who knows his sh*t. If I find someone good, I'll let you know. I won't send to the US - doesn't make sense. If something was done wrong then you'd have to send it back again. Definitely have to find someone in HK. Got my M-75, UT-95, and NS Pro 1050s all gathering dust right now and it sucks. A customer of a Japanese parallel import shop in Central? No - direct from Japan.

If I do send it to the States, it will be to Joe Kwok and he probably won't get it wrong I hope. Man, where did you get your X-Drive? Haven't tried them. Asking a Pro out here if he knows anyone. Hoever, the Pros in HK don't know much about equipment either... Got my X-Drive from Japan.

  21. I've been left with a problem. My regular clubmaker has picked up and moved to Macau to cash in on the casino/tourism boom. I'm stuck with a bunch of high end shafts waiting for installation but I don't know where to turn to. Even though i'm in Hong Kong, I think this situation is relevant in the US as well. With the continuing popularity of golf, there has been a surge in numbers of so-called clubmakers. 99% of these guys wouldn't have known the difference between hosel sizes and swing weights a year ago but all of a sudden, they're clubmakers when they learn how to switch on the heat gun. There is one shop in HK called Custom Clubmakers started by a very experienced guy who did work for lots of Asian Tour players. I went there the other day and saw 2 kids no older than 20 doing all the work. I turned right around without even bothering to see whether they could do the work I wanted. With the amount of $ I spend on equipment, I want the best guy possible who will not only listen but UNDERSTAND what I want and how I want it done. So my question is this - would you let some novice clubmakers handle your needs? Do you think pulling and installing a shaft is straight-forward and requires little experience? OR, will you only look for seasoned clubmakers who are up to date with all the innovations and pay a premium for their work? Speaking for myself - I will pay top $ for the work but I have to find the right guy. Ideally he needs to be a player and somewhat of a HO himself (or herself...). There are too many guys out there claiming to be clubmakers when they really don't know what they're doing. I would dearly love to work with a guy like Joe Kwok for example but it's simply too time consuming for me to send stuff back and forth from HK. How do you guys feel about the standards in clubmaking these days? How do you go about finding the right guy without testing each one with a job? I would definitely be reluctant to send clubs to someone unless they had a real solid established reputation. General/specific thoughts on the subject?

Used to be a Maxfli only user up to the M3 at which time the other manufacturers started making far superior balls. Gave the Revolution Tours a try and hated them. Soft enough, not very long, and the cover was crap. Have totally gone off Maxfli who will have to do something very special to regain their reputation. Don't see that happening anytime soon. If you're looking for a great ball at a cheap price, get some Srixon UR-Xs which are being heavily discounted now that the HRX333s and Z-URs are out. With Srixon, you're getting a Japanese ball at US market prices - can't beat that. I currently play the Tourstage X-01S but will switch back to Srixon shortly - best balls IMHO.
