  1. My favourite part of the TSG website is the What's in the Bag section. I have just been looking through some of the old posts. Boy oh boy have some of those bags changed in the last year. Might be a good time for some of the previous posters to do an update of what is now in their bags. :tsg_smilie_cool:
  2. :tsg_smilie_cool: Good looking clubs. :tsg_smilie_confused: Problem is there are just so many good looking clubs around at the moment. :tsg_smilie_wink: Custom options are definetly the preferred option IMO moving forward. You can get custom options with Mizuno, Scratch etc through TSG.
  3. Your report should make for very interesting reading once you have completed your round :tsg_smilie_cool:
  4. Funny thing, when I finally get my new irons, I may keep my current Mizuno PW in the bag. Same deal, it may be a feel thing however with a good swing I'm disappointed not to stiff it. Good information Chris and a good test. I'm delighted to know you have the same DSS as me!! :tsg_smilie_cool:
  5. Been away playing golf down near the Murray river. Played two days and was runner up twice!! Saturday was a good overall round helped by a good partner. Sunday was a single stroke event. The BB2 was absolutely on fire on Sunday. This putter just seems to get better and better. Also a couple of nice sand saves over the two days with the GAS1. Those groves really make the ball stop with a well executed shot. Washed it all down with numerous great Aussie reds. Hope everybody had a great Easter!! :tsg_smilie_cool:
  6. I think they are the same irons Goosen is playing :tsg_smilie_cool: :tsg_smilie_cool: Definetly post some more pictures!!
  7. So many wedges, so little time!! Maybe one day I'll take a short game lesson, in the mean time, may as well keep buying wedges till I find one that works :tsg_smiley_laughatyou:
  8. Ditto sf!! Should be very interesting to see these boys trot out their custom options!!
  9. Not such a bad idea to put the winner up against the AR-1s in my view. A man's work is a man's work, however I think Tour Spec Girl has just as much fun testing them!!
  10. You could put some sand or sugar in the shaft of your existing putter. I did this with my BB2 and now it performs fantastic. This was also the subject of another post some time ago. Golfsmith also have a 220 gram putter shaft they sell for about $15. Just a couple of suggestions.
  11. :tsg_smilie_cool: Excellent job!!
  12. :tsg_smilie_cool: :tsg_smilie_cool: Some really great stuff in the link, particularly the wedges. Interesting how many of the Japanese women use the VIQ2 driver.
  13. :tsg_smilie_cool: :tsg_smilie_cool: Ho heaven for putters!! I love my BB2, :tsg_smiley_embarrassed: however that silver TP Mills looks real good!!
  14. I know Golf WRX members photograph the payers bags from the US PGA. With respect to Golf WRX, or more pertinetly the players on the US PGA, these guys are paid to play clubs that are available in the US domestic market. There was the case of Ernie playing a Fourteen hybrid for a short period of time, however I guess he was "persuaded" by Titleist to remove it from his bag. As we all know the Japanese product is the best. Wouldn't it be great to get some photos of what is in the domestic Japanese tour players bags. These guys and girls would be playing what is available in Japan. How excxiting. Chris maybe you could organize the TSG paparazzi to take some photos. I'm sure everybody would be interested.
  15. As I said initially I am happy to be corrected. There is absolutely no doubt that Honma is a quality manufacturer and has been for a long time. When I was growing up Honma was the ants pants. I guess the point I was making about the irons, was that Gauge, Mizuno and Tourstage were a little more snazzi. That said perhaps Homna has been snazzi for a long time, but in my view their new offering is pretty much the same as what they have had for a period of years. The Armarq shaft can be tested against the other shafts that Chris has in his arsenal. Generally speaking the Homna shafts in the shops in Aus have been very whippy. This of course fits in with Honma's main market being the grey power Japanese. In summary I'm actually a fan, however I find some of the other offerings a little more inovative at this point.
  16. :tsg_smilie_confused: Maybe I'm missing something, and indeed I am happy to be corrected, however I think Gauge, Mizuno and Tourstage would all be ahead of Honma these days. I have a twin marks driver, and it was a beauty at the time, but I think the market has moved on. My current quandry, which has been ongoing for some time, is a new set of irons. My choices are the Gauge MB2s, G-Field NC1s or if I could get my hands on a set the old Mizuno S30s. Once again, personally, I much prefer these over any of Honmas latest offerings.
  17. What are you talking about??? :tsg_smiley_laughatyou: This is the plus1 we know and love??? :tsg_smilie_confused: This is easy!!!! :tsg_smilie_cool: BUY BOTH!!! Problem solved :tsg_smilie_wink: :tsg_smilie_wink:
  18. :tsg_smilie_cool: Holy Moley, what a great subject. I think Ari could make a killing on this one. My ideal would be C-Thru golf grip with the annual golf tour logo 220 gram true temper shaft centre shaft head in classic TP Mills black Gold face insert milled by Bettinardi "Phil" in gold lettering on the toe of the face. No other stampings. If I knew how to do it, I would place a sketch on the site. Far fetched of course. But hey this is not the only entry in that department!!
  19. Well boss, I'll go one step further. Some of the irons in the pros bags look nothing like the retail versions, however the stamping is exactly the same. Phil Mickelson's driver is anything but retail, with Phil spending 3 weeks in the Cally factory tinkering with the COG. Fact of the matter is, the pros equipment may look like the retail stuff, but my suspicion is that it is anything but. I think Billy Andre would like to use the UX2, however as you have stated there is no commercial value for the sponsor in letting him do so. As I have been saying for some time, the best golf equipment in the world is available through this site, and the members are not shy about giving their opinions good or bad. The needs of the handicap golfer, are also significantly different from the touring pro. I suspect Tiger could get it around in even par with a stick of celery. Just my 2 cents worth.
  20. :tsg_smilie_cool: Cool looking bag. The 3 wood looks like a real beauty!!
  21. Great set up yourpressed. :tsg_smilie_cool: Just a couple of quick questions. How do you like the Ozik Altus? Are you able to do a comparison between the MR23s and the NC1s?
  22. I too would be interested in photos of a G-Field carry bag.
  23. Phillip Alexander posted a post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
:tsg_smilie_confused: A quick question for the learned gentlemen. Can somebody explain the benefits of having your woods foamed?? Who does this?? Aprroximate cost to have it done??
  24. :tsg_smilie_wah: Chris my invitation to be a tester must have been lost in the mail. This is a very hard job. What a day the testers will have, testing the irons on the range, 9 holes, a lesson on the range and another 9 holes. I guess the shafts in the clubs have been matched to the heads :tsg_smilie_confused: although I thought that perhaps using the same shaft in all irons may have removed a variable. As far as the heads are concerned....sigh....so many great irons....so little time. I can't split the Mizunos and the G-Field, although they are very different in my view. Great idea Chris, wish I was with you and the boys on test day.
  25. :tsg_smiley_laughatyou: :tsg_smilie_confused: Dip the putter in ketchup once a week?? I shouldn't talk I have sugar filled shaft on my BB2! You learn something new everyday. :tsg_smilie_wink: I wonder what a red BB2 would look like??
