  1.  Chris this may be a really silly question, however why do the high end manufacturers persist with closed faces, when the high end consumer, in most cases, want them dead square? XXIO is for slower swingers while Srixon is for the better player. That being said, I will still get me the XXIO and perhaps ask joe if he can adjust the face angle to .5 closed. I think I can also special orders these square but dont quote me on that. Srixon allows me that option. Chris good to know the square option may exist.
  2. PS This is a great looking club, it would be a real pity if they all had closed faces.

  4. Truly I can't understand why it is so expensive. If it is a collector fair enough, but if it is something to buy and put in your bag I don't see it. To be honest it doesn't look overly forgiving to me, however if you swing it like Adam Scott it doesn't need to be. Personally I'm waiting for the new Gauge hybrid to be released before deciding between that and the Mizuno UX2. That said, whoever has bid the 800 big ones likes it. Just my 2 cents worth!
  5. I love the classic look of the crown at address. The Japanese companies simply do this much much better
  6. Plus 1, I have probaly asked you this before, however what length 5 iron shaft do you use. The reason for the question is that my clubs are over standard length, which would add to the swing weight. The other question which you might be able to answer, is what effect over standard length has on the flex of the NS Pros. I am currently considering the x flex, over length and maybe soft stepped. This seems like a bit of a threadjack, however it all ties back in with the MB2s. There seems like there could a little friendly rivalary amongst the guys for bag of the month once everybody gets their MB2s set up  5 is played at 38'' so i play standard...meaning i did have to add the weights! however this does not effect the quality of the club in any way. still as sweet as sugar! usually playing a shaft at over standard does softenin it up a bit, which is why players that use overlength hardstep their irons. however the difference is very slight phil.  Thanks for the feedback plus 1. Once I order and get my heads, I can drive the Nippon rep here absolutely mad till I get exactly the flex I want. Should be lots of fun for one of us
  7. Pretty sexy. The boys seem to love the carry bags as well!

  10. Good luck with the new clubs! Just waiting for the work bonus, so I can order mine!
  11.  Bert-B great job pimpin the MB2s. A couple of questions: 1) How do you do it, as the gold just looks sensational!! 2) Will you post some photos of your ferrule options? 3) What is your swing speed with the driver, as I am currently deciding between S & X 1150 pros for my irons
  12.  This in my view is wonderful news plus 1. I may be tempted to order the 53 and replace the Bettinardis in my bag. Gotta say though the 52 and 56 in the Bettinardis are very good. The 58 GD is just a brilliant piece of equipment. Perhaps the new saying might be "if it's brilliant it will do" Which brings me to the threadjack. Any decisions on the engaving on the putter?
  13. The minor convex in Campbell's wedge is pretty funky. The Titleist proto seems to be in a few bags around the traps. All in all nothing really out of the ordinary. Perhaps the pros should be looking at this site
  14. It's all been said before. Grrrreat wedge!!!
  15. I was wondering what don't you like about the TT wedge flex? I really like it, but am in the process of reshafting to some ns pro 1150's in some backups. It is more that there is an ambiguous nature of "Wedge Flex" than anything. I know that sounds ridiculous but if they stated S200, S300 or something specific I would feel more comfortable with them. It is more of a paralysis by analyses issue really. On the other hand I just tried Rifles for the first time in my irons and love them. I have always played S300 and they are fine but I really like these Rifles. Having said that, since I am trying shafts I thought why not try some in my wedges. Mate, if you get a chance to test a NS Pro 1150, in any iron, I'm sure you would be impressed!! What is the difference in the 1150 and the 1050 ? The 1150 and 1050 are indications of the weight in the shaft. The guys on the site can tell you the other differences, but I believe weight is the main one.
  16. Who manufactures these?
  17.  Played today with my new GAS1. The round went well including, one very memorable shot out of the rough, over a bunker, landing softly on the green and rolling to four feet which I made. Gota say this just gets better and better. Not surprised you have just about worn yours out plus 1. I just love practicing with this club
  18. Well guys here goes. There is the obvious cosmetic difference between these two, however for those who are fortunate enough to have used both, are there any performance differences

  20. You're just killing me with all these new wedges. That said, I like a satin finish. Chrome/shiny is too bright and raw all over tends to diminish the style of the club (starting to sound like plus1). Must admit really like the GAS 1. It's unique and extremely attractive to look down on when playing a shot, not to mention feels like butter to hit and spins like crazy.
  21. 1) The W505 I have is non conforming its a tad hotter off the face. The performance difference would be the ViQ is more forgiving on toe and heel shots while the 505 is better with shots missed high or low on the face. The feel of the 505 is much better IMO. 2) The ball goes much more straight with the steel shaft. I value you accuracy in my 3 wood more than distance. 3) Im done with the combo, I am playing straight up NC-1's. In regards to my wedges, as of today the GAS1-SQBT are in the bag, It took no time to get used to these because they are the same grind as the GAS1 Forged, plus milling marks, square grooves and the black finish. Oh yeah forgot to mention the head weight on the SQBT model seems a tad heavier. Thanks Chris!!
  22. Dave got the imagies via email. Thanks. Sorry I have been slow to respond as I have been away touring. Cheers, Phil
  23. Chris fantastic bag. Just some points you might like to comment on: 1) I notice that you changed your driver from the VIQ to the Srixon. What differences have you found? 2) You're playing the NS Pros in your 3 wood and utility clubs as opposed to grahite. What benefit has this provided? 3) You have created a combo set with your irons. What benefits have the MB2s given you in the short irons? In my view feel and cosmetics are just as important as everything else, and while I am not prompting your answer, feel and cosmetics could be part of the answer. PS Any idea what month Gauge will be releasing the new utility club? PPS Happy that you have stayed loyal to your wedges. Mine is fantastic!!
  24. Where should the spine be placed?
  25. I've put an 1150 NS Pro stiff in an old Wilson wedge and really like it. It seems reasonably lively. That said I have a DG S200 in my new wedge and like it as well. There are a number of experts (Jedi, plus1 etc) using Nippons in their irons, but the DG S200 in their wedges. I guess it gets back to personal preference, however my preference is either the Nippon or the DG S200
