RODDIO Shaft By DaiwaSeiko
Hey guys, I have had the Roddio in the bag for abour 9 months. I have tried it in both a Driver and a FW. My honest opinion is that the Roddio Proto in my 3 wood will not leave my bag until it breaks and I can't get another one. I have had Pro95's, HK-Pro110's, ProtoPype's, Harrison's, Tour-AD's, etc in the fairways and no shaft has performed like the Roddio. First swing I ever took with the club was a 280 yard rocket out of the rough. Ivan, (pga_apprentice on golfwrx,) says I would be stupid to every switch from my current setup. I have had 3 types of Proto's. Two in the Ion Black finish and one with a graphite fiber fading to silver Ion. Still have two of them. The one in the 3 wood is 73g and the spare right now is 80g, may be in a hybrid soon. I suggest anyone out there to give this shaft a try!!!

In case you were wondering what ball Shigeki uses
The UX-s plays much more like a Callaway HX-tour 56 and the regualr UX plays more like a pro-V. The UX-s is the best ball I think I have ever played, now if I could only get a bunch of them!

In case you were wondering what ball Shigeki uses
Shigeki is using the new Tourstage UX Arrow. He has both the soft and regular ball in play depending on conditions. The older X-01H was what he used about 6 months ago. Of course all have the number 23 for Michael Jordan and MARU in green.

Low Bounce 58 Wedge options?
Sonartec Tour T15's that are around 8 bounce, but with the crazy sole grind it lays open like a 64!

wedges with the most spin
Hands down, the most spin on any wedge will cost you about $150. Get a chrome Callaway X-tour wedge with the mack daddy grooves and have the chrome stripped. That wedge produces more spin than anything you will find, tour or non!!!

GD Pershing Shaft
Do a search, I opened a thread a fwe months ago about this shaft. Think Tour-AD meets YS-series. I wasn't very impressed.

Graphite Design Pershing shaft???
Umm, at a course in L.A. Ha-Ha, he gets all kinds of stuff in. Any tourstage player. His job is to keep the international players relations alive and all the clubs from overseas go to him and then he gets them to the players. Very nice guy! The assistant pro at my course gets some of the rejects to keep. But he is pretty good, had his JPGA card last year. He can't sell the equipment, has to give it back if he upgrades to newer stuff, but it is still cool to get to see and hit some top notch tour caliber Tourstage equipment.

Graphite Design Pershing shaft???
I work at a course in the L.A. area and a friend stopped by with some new toys. He is the international players rep for tourstage. He always has the latest thing that top Japanese players are using, I won't use the players name, but he is known by 4 letters and they are stamped in green on his clubs. So anyways, I took a little sight seeing tour over to the range and proceeded to hit some clubs. First clubs I hit were some new cavity back protos. Similar to the X-Blade CB2's but the cavity had straight lines, not the curved line thing like the CB2's. Does that make sense? And the cavity was smaller. They had M266V X shafts in them. Man were they awesome. The shafts felt so smooth. Very close to my Black Gold's but lighter. Second clubs I hit were some drivers. Tourstage X-Drive 405's. A few had the Graphite Design Tour-AD m-65 <X> and a few had a new Graphite Design shaft called the "Pershing" It was all black, the name pershing was in a mother of pearl sort of color/dinish and ala aldila with a 65-X only. The shaft was not as stiff as the Tour-ad. I wasnt' too impressed with it. I did get ahold of a few, but the tour ad will still be my shaft of choice. Next I hit some Tourstage X-ST 3 and 5 woods. Some with the tour-ad, some with the pershing. Again I liked the tour-ad better. The Pershing would be awesome if it were a little stiffer. The player and I have similar swing characteristics I guess cause everytime I hit one of his clubs I absolutly love it. The rep told me the same thing, the players feedback was that the pershing was a nice shaft but it was too soft. They may be making a stiffer one for him, but I doubt I will be able to hit that one. I usually get the rejects or last years models to try. Never to keep, but thats ok, I just like to try them. So I guess my question is has anyone heard of the pershing before this? or does anyone know the specs on them? I saw/hit a 65-X and a 75-X in drivers and 3 woods.

Most Expensive Hybrid Shaft?
Probably the Diamana "Humpty" shaft would be the most expensive. I have hit the GD UT-85X in Stuart Appleby's Air Muscle. Wasn't that impressed, but I think it was the clubhead, not the shaft. Oh yeah, he had a ribbed golf pride victory on it!?! :yuk:

Tourstage X-Drive 405
Awesome club. Not sure why these people say it is unforgiving. I think it is more forgiving than most 400CC drivers. And you don't get the massive hook from toed shots or the low fades from the heel. I have a GD Tour-AD M-65 X in mine. Perfect combonation. Many people have tried it and no matter the swing tempo all have had excellent results. This club will not be leaving the bag for a very, very long time!!!
