tour-md replied to viv71's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearTodd aka "Fat Boy" Thrun. Handicap: +2 - how laughable. Have you ever seen him swing?...sure +2 after every hole. I guess his wife left him.

Quality of Japanese Clubs
Valid point. I love buying, collecting, and trying new clubs. Over the past few years I've concentrated more on my game than building my bag. Recently, I remember getting my clock cleaned by someone twenty years my senior with a Costco set of 845s and a putter that appeared to come out of one of those "throwaway" bags outside of Play it Again Sports. He fired a 68. Is it worth it? From a practical standpoint probably not however if it makes you feel good and you have the disposable income then more power to you...

Ping Hoofer2 - detailing repair ???
How about just buying another bag?... I've never heard of someone "re-detailing" their bag but I suppose it is possible. You may want to give Ping a call in AZ (on Desert Cove) to see if they offer this service.

Tourstage 435 ebay?
This seller has also been selling MP 60 mizuno iron heads. I wouldn't go for it - no buyer protection for PayPal transactions. Besides, I'd rather go through Chris and save myself a gigantoid headache.

Where to get my new clubs from????
Try them all -- through friends, through your local retailers, etc. "Tour Issue" or imports really don't automatically equate to lower scores.

steel shaft in 3 wood
I'll have to give that shaft a try -- sounds pretty light :). My favorite "heavier" shaft in a 3 wood is the Graphite Design YS9.1. For me it performs better than steel (distance and feel). O.K., accuracy is an entirely different question :tsg_smiley_embarrassed:

wrist cock?
I believe all of the above is correct - the key element is at first having a CORRECT grip.

steel shaft in 3 wood
I fought with this problem in the past and tried a Royal Precision Rifle shaft with good results. The problem is towards the end of the round I had problems keeping my tempo due to fatigue. It was even worse when I played 36. How about going to a heavy Fujikura graphite shaft (Pro 95) or something comparable? Just a thought....

Mizuno MP003 Driver w/PICS
I like the look of it -- my only criticism of the Mizuno line of drivers is the lack of forgiveness. This one looks way more forgiving than the old school 300s.
