I use this Izzo tool. It works just fine, but you can only do so much to fight age. http://www.tgw.com/customer/category/produ...ATEGORY_ID=4817
  2. Heavier... that's the main difference to (and the main thing for) me. They are smooth as silk, but I like them b/c I can get 135g at a comfortable S flex. I like the feel much better than the DG, but I don't know if that's weight or design. My guess is a little a both. Ashamed to say I've never played Nippon, so I don't have a basis for comparison. My recollection is they don't make any shafts heavier than 120g. And Harrisons are far better shafts than Rifle for all sorts of reasons. I wouldn't use a Rifle shaft to beat my neighbor's dog... IMHO.
  3. Finally, another TSGer with Harrison steel on board! Thanks for the pics. Those SMT wedges have a great look to them.
  4. Absolutely mint condition Miura MP putter in gooseneck style with black/silver finish. Saw 1 stinking round before I dropped a bunch of money with Chris on a Gauge :money: Specs: hw 348g, tw 545g, lie 72*, loft 3* For those of you that play Miuras, this would be a nice addition to your bag. I can send pics if needed but there is no (zero) wear on this. Plus it comes with probably the coolest headcover ever - a horsefur thing that is D-O-P-E. The putter is $290 new + shipping. I'll part with it for $235 shipped to your door (CONUS ONLY). PM if interested.
  5. I agree. Could be the finest I've seen. Works well with that Mizuno blue.

Those weights may look silly, but I'll tell you that Dual performs IMO. (I put 8g in each port for a neutral weighted head). That club is significantly better than the Rescue I or II, which seemed very draw biased. Anyway, I replaced two fairway woods with my duals!
  7. +1, Do you have 115-120mph swing speed?
  8. If you swing that fast, you can also handle the Accra SE 80 - I have a friend with your swingspeed that went from hitting 40% to 80+% of fairways after moving to this shaft.

    Plus 1 - PM left.

YES! I took the factory :poop: NVS 55 out and swapped with a NVS 75. You have to be careful indeed, but it was easily done. Any clubmaker worth their salt can do it. By the way, it is a REAL performer with the after market shaft.
  12. With the omni-present "you should really try it/it depends on your swing/yadda yadda yadda" caveat, my SS is 100 - 102 and I've had a lot of success with the Aldila NVS 75 S in my drivers.

    Can't add a thing to that! :smile2:

My clubs are very new, so I don't have long-term experience with 1018. They are supersoft :smile2: How has Scratch held up for you other guys?

Good point and glad to it from someone who has tried them both. I have to tell you, the CBs are perfect for me at address and everywhere else. The thought of anything better seems almost unfathomable  . net/net: looks like yet another reason to get a set of NC-1s in my hands so I can check them out!

It's totally a question of perceived value. Someone will trip over their own di*k to get a set of used 735.CMs but will totally dismiss a high-end custom product - either because it's not made for them, they've never heard of it, or both. I can tell you it ain't a quality issue. I mean, I basically quit being a club ho' once I got my Scratch CBs. 'Nuff said. FWIW, I worked with Ari over the phone and specified the shafts, grips, and grinds. Truthfully, I'd never seen the CB heads in person. My set up is below. I have to say that IMO they are the most beautiful clubs I've ever seen (of course, I've never seen the NC-1s :smile2: ). More to the point, the clubs' performance has exceeded what were very, very high expectations. I'm a big downloader and these handground Ishiharas just obliterate the turf. Frankly, Ari and his team at Scratch were also awesome. They got me the clubs before the stated delivery date. Unreal... You find them out there for under $500, pick 'em up.
  17. Stop it! UR killing me. You know you have a kickin' set of irons when other people (i.e., me) print our pictures of your sticks... Fantastic review. I'm very familiar with the CB 201s. They were the pinnacle of feel and looks for me, so it's *very* instructive to get this level of detail comparing the two. Thanks for sharing these beauties. Keep us posted on your love affair.
  18. I said D A M N! Like any great art piece, you can't stop looking at them. Does function follow form? Can't wait to hear the head2head with CB201s.
  19. Soft as the 201s. However, no centerline alignment, which I found annoying.
  20. Chris - Can you get your hands on a set of these? BTW, what did you decide to do with your Miura TWs?
