I would add that hybrids are, generally, better from wierd lies but the point remains the same. Unless you are having a problem hitting a shot you really need with the 7W, I wouldn't swap it. The advantages of carrying a hybrid will not be worth the transition time (i.e., it's a 1. shorter club that 2. looks different is 3. weighted different and one that 4. you don't swing the same way) needed to get used to it. If you've got confidence from lots of lies from 200 in, you're golden. My .02c

Let me take it a step further. I wouldn't be coming to Ari (or anyone else) with degree of camber or leading edge relief. I'm quite certain most Tour pros don't know this level of detail. What they know is how they swing and what club feels best with that swing. I can tell you from experience that Ari and Jeff McCoy just need to hear things like "I'm a sweeper - I try not to take any divot at all" or even "I'm a downloader" and they can run quite well with the ball from there. From a static measurement perspective, you need to know lie, lenght, loft, grip size, swingweight/total weight all of which should come from a good fitting. Everything else should be left to your club designer and their grinder. Let's be careful not to miss the forest for the trees...

Love that r7 TP fairway. Highly underrated IMO.

    Ditto
  5. On the subject of Graphite Design shafts, I also really can't say enough about this Tour AD M-75 in a FW. It's not very "willowy" so it took me a while to get used to but, man, it is smooth. With my swing, it takes the Vista Pro and the 757 high and deep.
  6. That is one fantastic bag! Truly yours. Chris, do I see a candidate for next bag of the month?
  7. If the Blue didn’t make the cut in either 83 or 63, I’m not sure why you’d try the 73. Weight might be better for you but the shaft is going to perform the same. I don't know enough about the Red or the PT-7 in the driver. If distance is your primary objective, I’d consider the Axiv 7568.
  8. Per the rules, please post pics of 1150 tour GHs
  9. I'm using it right now. I'll have more thoughts later but my initial impression is that it's a lot like the Diamana Blue.

Nice! Did you play the regular Vokey's before the spin milled?
  11. TSG made mine appear magically just days after ordering I'll have to say, they look a lot more boss than the pictures justify. I'll have them in the desert this weekend and will post some thoughts if and as it makes sense.
  12. I have mine in a 450cc head - FairwayFred has his in a 460/470cc head so no worries about bigger heads. I prefer heavier feeling heads but that's a personal choice and has nothing to do with the shaft. I would say 6060 or 6564 are the consideration set for you. With that SS, you can probably handle either. However, I think the heavier shaft will be more in line with your experience. Moreover, the Axiv loads unlike any other shaft I've played. I think this makes it FEEL softer than it plays (and you've already heard people discuss their views on the shaft playing soft to flex). So, I'd rec the 6564M (and go orange). Hope this helps.
  13. You are absolutely right. I'm looking at the one I have here and it is square. In fact, I think the Tour is square too (as opposed to open).
  14. Closed.
  15. Sweet set up! And, ok, I'll bite - what's up with the "goose" handle?

    Here's what I know: PT-6 63g/3.5 torque/Mid kick PT-7 72g/3.4 torgue/Mid kick
  17. Looks like a different grind than the black, no?
  18. I love those 680s! They are just classic looking. I couldn't hit them at all, but they are beauties.
  19. Outstanding review! Look forward to hearing about the GF Fairways and NC-1s.
  20. Indeed. Does not swing heavy at all. I took a few additional points off with a counterweight under the grip I need to say, I did give up distance with the NS Pro (i.e., I can hit the 21 degree FT3 with an NVS 10/12yrds past the 20 VS2 with the steel shaft) but the VS2 is a laser - goes where you aim it.
  21. Let us know when you get the UT-95. I'd be curious to hear how it compares to the Aldila. Again, rockin' rig. :tsg_smilie_cool:
  22. You're killin' me! Can't you get to Arizona for some testing :tsg_smilie_cool: Look forward to hearing the results. The Medius will be a lot heavier, no?
  23. Can't wait to hear the comments! :tsg_smilie_cool: What are the other lofts?
