  1. Said it before - say it again: the USDM HX Tour 56 is the best ball I've ever played. Hands down. (Which is to say it's the best ball for my swing/game). :niceshot:
  2. Good tips. Also be sure to finish your swing. If you are thinking "swing to and hold the finish", it's hard to leave the rock in the sand.

  4. You dirty whore  Can't wait to see the reviews! You now own 3 of my top 5!!!
  5. A little like arguing over a blonde or brunette supermodel... Having said that, I believe Katsuhiro Miura himself said that the CB201 was the finest iron he'd ever made.
  6. Great stix! For some reason, I want a biscotti...
  7. Good point Murch. Of course, if you putt better with it, who cares where the sweet spot is?
  8. I think the weaker grip with the index finger more under the club would be a better position for that "holder" fade.
  9. It gone! Thanks for your interest.
  10. A lot of female golfers have that head dip move through the hitting area. I say it a lot at Cherry Hills this summer. I wonder where that comes from?
  11. MRZ - Have you played any of the ACCRA shafts? I'm wondering how the Axiv compares.
  12. All right... we all know each other well enough. My name is sfgolfer, and I counter all my shafts with Balance Certified counterweights. Shoot, I even have a BC hat. I don't know that I've seen dramatic length improvements, but the feel is unreal. Buy the rings first and find out for yourself.

+1 - Pavlovian response has kicked in...I'm drowning in a puddle of my own drool.

I've had many clubs reshafted with shafts the the OEMs were either unaware of/didn't think could fit/or both (i.e., put Harrison steel in Titleist 690s, etc.). DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT CALLAWAY TELLS YOU. They 1) may not know 2) may really be saying that it voids the warranty in an effort to protect their authorized custom shaft partners. The guys from Shreveport seem pretty knowledgeable so ask them. If you don't get an answer, send me a PM and I'll get the answer for you.
  15. I have the Heavy Putter and an 80g Balance Certified plug in my Gauge. You should also know that Balance Certified sells Big Oak putters that are integrated with the counterweights (I own one)

The Miura CB-201s are S-C-H-W-E-E-T as well. IMO, the Tournament Blade is as easy to hit. They are beauties.

Concur. Do not believe anything the major OEMs tell you. There's 8 chances in 10 that the person you spoke to at Callaway never heard of Nippon shafts. In the 20% chance they had, if it's not on the screen in front of them they can't do anything for you.
  18. With juniors, I think the first few months needs to be about being out there and having fun swinging the club. Chances of contact/feel of control is higher with a baseball grip. Technique is not an issue if you don't think it's a fun game to play.
  19. +1, I think it is common for beginners and seniors. In fact, I actually learned with a 10 finger grip and it took me all of 1 day at the range to switch to interlocking when the time was right. (In fairness, my instructor wanted me to switch to interlock OR overlap and I just couldn't get the hang of overlap as quickly - I wish I could b/c I felt at the time that having less of my right hand on the club was - on paper - a better thing).
  20. didn't think of that one. Last year, I bought a Dave Curry Big Oak putter with a 100g counterweight in the shaft. I had much more touch with it - so much so that I recently bought the Heavy Putter B3 which has a super heavyweight shaft to counter the 500g head. I too like the heavier feel and my own stats show I putt better with a heavier shaft. I was evaluating how to weight my Gauge and you've given me a great idea  Thanks.
  21. Great analogy. I concur. Thanks for the review. While I'm going back and forth a little between The One and my Heavy Putter B3, they are entirely different animals and the waffling btw them is for different reasons. The One is, IMO, much purer (in feel and in role) than the B3 or even the Scotty's I've hit and - yes - the buttery Miura.
  22. Interlock for me a la my boy Tiger and his boy Jack. However, that's not a critique of the overlap grip which I think can be mastered with practice. The only grip I would NOT recommend is the baseball (10 finger) grip. Great way to get wristy.
  23. Good tip. I've used Jasco to remove paintfill in the past which should require a license. It removes paint all right, but it also makes you piss in your pants and forget who you are for about a half hour...
  24. S-W-E-E-T! You gave me a great idea! How do you like the performance of "your one" so far?
