Shafts - Axiv or graphite design ?
Yep. SS also helpful.

NEw shafts from GD, Fuji, Axiv, Diamana
Concur fully with the Axiv 6060M or the Diamana Red M63. From a performance perspective, I'd also add the Aldila NV (green) 65S. And, IMO, only strive to bring the ball down if you think you are losing distance because of the high flight (balooning, etc). Having been to a number of Tour events and spent a lot of time on the range watching those guys hit tee shots, I can tell you that Tiger et al bomb their tee shots far AND relatively high.

Lookin for a new 3 wood, advice? wisdom? anything?
I have to admit that I've not owned any of the JDM FWs, but - man - I am really loving the V Steel 2 with the NSPRO 950 steel right now. Back weighted head and laser straight with a good midkick that doesn't ballon, but also doesn't burn the grass.

Fantastic idea - even though I would NEVER need to know this!! :tsg_smiley_embarrassed:

Why should shafts in fairway woods be lighter than ones in drivers?
Edwin - hard to answer without knowing your swing characteristics. However, generally speaking, both will happen. So unless you are thinking of using a FW (i.e., Spoon) as a replacement for your driver, most want to keep their FWs heavier than their driver. I'd have to say that if you are comfortable with 55g in your driver (I'll assume a driver SS of 90 or so?) and you like the Speeders, then you should think about going to the 652 in your fairways for the reasons given by +1. In anticipation of your next questions, yes it's worth it to get the right weight and yes you will see a performance difference over the stock Callaway shafts. :tsg_smilie_cool:

Grip Change
Same I went to the hook blade thanks to this very thing. In fact, I have a nice 1/2" scar on my thigh to remind me of the need for a hook blade/vice. :tsg_smiley_embarrassed:

3 wood shaft help
Check out the proshop here at TSG. They have the NSPRO 950FW in stock with some spec information. :tsg_smilie_cool:

Putting help, please!
You can also move the ball back in your stance. If you line the ball even with your back toe and open your stance a little (a la Jack) you really have a sense of your weight under you which can in turn help with a solid stroke. Try it. :tsg_smiley_yes:

3 wood shaft help
I had the NV 95 in a 5 wood and it was killer, and I think the 95 would be a great compliment to the NV 75 in the driver. I assume you are playing S in the NV as that flex seems perfect for you. Of course, I'd like to use the Jedi mind trick and talk you into using the NSPRO 95g steel fairway as it would give you what you want, but it's very hard to argue against any of Aldila's fine shafts - particularly their heavyweight shafts. :tsg_smilie_cool:

Axiv distance gains
+1 - I have the Axiv 6564M en route. I thought our swing speeds (100-105mph) to be about the same, so I'm interested that you found the 6.4 too stiff. Was it tipped? :tsg_smilie_confused:

forged cb suggestions??
Hard to know w/o knowing your priorities around price and performance. But given you are even asking, I can sense a little about both. Looked at on a spectrum, I think you are - on one end - at the J33 Combo (still, IMO, the best deal going in golf right now) and the GD NC-1 on the other. If you are thinking about the GD, I'd also add the Miura CB-201 to you list of clubs to consider. Natch, I LOVE the new Scratch CBs but I don't know they are for everyone. You have to really appreciate the grinds. Clearly, d**ksy and I do!

SQ Tour 460
Great review Jack. I have to admit, the look of that SQ really grows on you. I notice Tiger put it in his bag, and then took it out. Looks like he comes out where you do! Thanks again. Curious to hear more about it after some more action.

V-Steel Version 2 Images.....Cold day!
It's the COG. The shallower face and the plug rocket the ball skyward. I hit down on my woods from the fairway. You can take a divot with the 20 and still send it skyward with that descending blow. The ball flight is a nice compromise btw my 3 iron and hybrid. I've always been a fan of steel in fairways, and the NS 950 does NOT disappoint.

V-Steel Version 2 Images.....Cold day!
I've been playing the 20 degree for a few weeks and the 3 wood goes in the bag this week. I can give a more detailed review but safe to say I agree 100% with Chris. This is the fairway wood that put more fairway woods back into my bag.

5 Rounds with the new Diamana Red M-63!
Watching this with GREAT interest. I have a feeling one of these (M or Axiv) will be in the bag soon.

How do you like the Aldila shaft in the Hybrid?

INFO on the OZIK??
The performance is a function of the design. The price is a function of marketing. Price bears zero relationship to margin (if it did, a can of Coke would be priced at .08c). Here we have a very good shaft, an exclusive run (limited numbers, funky color), and some Tour success. Mix that all together and Matrix doesn't need to sell a whole heck of a lot of these for the line to be profitable. The more they sell, the higher the price will stay. And, to Chris' point, they now have people starting to think about them as an elite shaftmaker. How much is that worth?

Important Grip Question...
Too many fingers equals wrists and elbows, so. yes  (see also - why not to use the 10 finger grip).

10 rounds of golf with the Srixon W505.

Diamana Red M and new Tour AD release dates!
Chris - Are you going to carry the Red M 83 as well?
-
r7 shaft
I think the orange NVS 85 is already on his list... That is a great shaft. Loads great and it will give you a higher ball flight.

swingspeed for Diamana stiff shaft
I play the Diamana 83 and my SS is 101. Fits like a glove.
