PRGR GN502 Tour Driver Mini Review
Since Gocchin's original post, I have been intrigue with this driver. See http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/t28451.html for the original post and pictures. Played fresh out of the box at Congressional Country Club, a US Open course. Specs - All standard with the stock SR flex shaft. 10.5*, 45", D2 swing weight. Looks - I know a few people probably don't care for the crown indent, however this isn't a factor in real life. In fact, I think it actually helps align the head at address, somewhat similar to the crescent shapes on putters or other alignment aids. No idea if this was the intent however that is how I see it. The shape isn't classic pear however pleasant without being overwhelming. As you can see in the pics, the face appears to extend over the top edge and onto the crown. This is kinda cool. It gives an illusion that that inspires confidence and does help align the face. This is probably one of the coolest and most useful design innovations I have seen in a while. Performance - Here is where life gets surprising and exciting. I was concerned that the Tour version would be unforgiving and too low launch for me. Knowing that JDM shaft flexes can be weak, I also was concerned that the stock PRGR shaft wouldn't hold up. Let me start by saying DON'T be afraid of this driver. Despite the COG placement, it is extremely easy to hit. I mean really really easy. The face it hot. I knew immediately, it was hot. With the shaft setup, launch was too high and a little too spinny. However the shaft held up very well and I cannot speak poorly of it. Very solid for a stock setup. I know that a shaft paired correctly with this hot head, and it will be a beast. Sound - Solid and slightly metallic. Not tinny, but not muted either. Pleasant and satisfying. Feel - Somewhat corresponds with sound. Very very solid. Feels like the ball explodes off the face. Conclusion - None yet, but super promising. I have a Motore Speeder VC6.0 sitting here waiting for install. I can only imagine this may be the key to bombs. I also think the GD EV series or Ozik XCON5 would be great pairings also. If I can lower the trajectory a little and the spin, watch out.

2009 Yamaha Inpres X V Forged Limited Tour
if anyone remembers, I played the 2008 model when first released and the 2009 model since its release. I too agree that the distance and accuracy control are stand out features. In fact, I think that highlighted these features in many posts. No patting myself on the back, but just reiterating that this is the real deal. The 2008 and 2009 play very similarly however I think the 09 is more forgiving towards the toe. It is interesting that Yamaha doesn't seem to have the big following or name in the golf industry however these two offerings are second to none for those that prefer a smaller square head, players cavity back with minimal offset, Epon manufacture, etc etc. The bad thing is that I will be on the lookout for their new releases each year as I never want to lose out on their limited availability. Considering there were 750 sets in 2008 and 1000 in 2009, I consider myself lucky to have purchased these. I think that TSG had one set left, so I would act fast if you have the need for these great irons. I also have their driver: Inpres X 4.6V Tour with Ozik XCON5 stiff shaft. I was not a fan of the stock Rombax however the XCON5 woke up a real monster. Yamaha has quite a few options for shafts with different length and swing weight options. My guess is the GD EV series would be a great choice also. I heard from another member here that he is as happy with the Yamaha Tour FW with the stock shaft. I may pick one of these up also.

2009 Yamaha Inpres X V Forged Limited Tour
Glad to see you finely have them out on the course. I have played extensively with them over the last few months and I also cannot find anything I don't like. I have played various turf conditions and think the sole grind works pretty well in all conditions. Yesterday and Sunday I played two rounds in constant rain and the fairways were pretty sloppy. held up well in super soft faiways. I have mine setup with KBS nickel shafts. 5 stars for this setup. I guy in my group yesterday who is not familiar at all with anything other than US retail offerings asked me if the irons were "some sort of Mizuno knockoffs." I just laughed and offered him a few swings. He quickly recanted and said, "Damn they feel pretty good." I don't understand why more player here on TSG don't have these irons. Really not lacking, but exceling in ever area.

FS - 2009 Yamaha Inpres X 4.6V r.p.m 10*
I am selling my 2009 Yamaha Inpres X 4.6V r.p.m. (10 Degree) This club is special as I am including 2 shafts. The installed shaft is a Ozik Matrix XCON5 stiff flex which the shaft was labeled at 251cpm prior to install. Shaft was installed by Goodsie at swing weight of D2.5 and 45". Includes new New Decade Multi Compound red grip. Also included is the stock Fujikura 6Y09 stiff shaft which was installed at 45" and D2 swing weight. This shaft includes the stock Yamaha grip. Head cover is stock Yamaha issued. If you know Goodsie, the club is pured and flo'd and assembled to perfection. Club is near perfect condition with the normal sole scratches. Paint and crown are perfect. With the XCON shaft, this club is a beast. It is very smooth with a great piercing ball flight. I am selling as I think I need more launch angle and likely will order a new driver with a new shaft fitted for me. I am a hard fit as I am so short. With these shafts and setup, a new club would cost $1000 or more. $600 shipped in CONUSA. Can ship international however there may be an add-on for shipping.

Images of the New & Already Sold Out Yamaha Tour Limited Irons!
Still in my bag firmly. In fact, I was exchanging messages yesterday with TourSpecGolfer about them. What I have said in my previous reviews is still true. Now that I have spent more time with them, I say they are so very accurate with stellar distance and spin control. I installed the KBS black nickel shafts in all of the irons initially at a D1.5 sw however heavied up to D3. They are spot on now and they play so well. Feel is subjective. These have a more Epon clicky feel. My only issue is if you tend to hit thin shots you may not like them. They seem to favor a good solid trapped ball strike. Go fo it! I think TSG has 2 sets available. The long irons are easier to hit than the 08 model. I have been playing the Yammy Tours in the 2008 and 2009 model.

2009 Yamaha Inpres X 4.6V r.p.m - IN HAND PICS
I have had some course time with a new Ozik XCON5 installed. This shaft had a CPM sticker of 251 and was installed by Goodsie at length of 45", swing weight of D2.5 I think he said. Well let me tell you that this shaft has woken up a monster. The stock shaft was a Rombax 6Y09 stiff also at 45" and D2 SW. It felt somewhat dead to me and it launched too low. It was advertised as a mid kick shaft which I believe as true. The Ozik requires a good swing. It doesn't like out of sinc swings and doesn't reward over the top moves. I was quick to see low pulls. Being the first swings of the year, I was not surprised. After a few range sessions and actual course play, let me tell you that it is an accurate and long mofo. I came from a Epon EMB 45" with a stock stiff GD AD for EMB shaft. The EMB launch higher however had little run out. This combo launches slightly lower however carries as far yet runs out more. It is a great setup for wind play also. My natural shot is a slight draw and this shaft complies well. My miss is a push. Being the first time in an Ozik, I can say this was a calculated move that had great results. It kicks more than any shaft I have ever had and feels as thought the ball is sucked into the clubhead and shot forward. Cool stuff.

shorter shaft length and distance
Henry, I am a short guy at 5'-3". Over time, I have played standard to now 1/2" short. For the last 6 sets or so I play 58.5* and 37.5" 5I. All around better play due to ball contact. For me, finding the best flex and swing weight for to properly load the shaft was crucial. In my current set of Yamaha Tour with KBS 5.5 I found that D3ish was optimal in the 3-8 and slightly higher in the wedges. Sounds a little heavy for some but helps my trap the ball better, improved feel and swing path. Distance for me is not longer or shorter but more consistent. I would get distance out of your thoughts.

2009 Yamaha Inpres X 4.6V r.p.m - IN HAND PICS
I reshafted this with a Ozik XCON5 stiff flex. The raw shaft CPM'd at 251. Goodsie installed it for me at 45". This shaft really woke up this head. What a nice difference. I have labored for some time over finding a use for the XCON5. Now this club really kicks. The kick is really noticeable. It seems as though the clubhead comes around hard at the last moment and stays on the ball for some time. It is very smooth. This is my first swings in more than 2 months so I had to work hard to get my swing sequence back. A good swing was rewarded very nicely. I especially was liking the great rollout with a nice high launch. Haven't been out on the course yet, but I am eager.

I've narrowed down to these two drivers
The 2009 Yonex is so new I doubt there is much feedback. Have you considered the Yamaha drivers? I have the 4V rpm. Replaced the shaft and will provide feedback Wednesday.
