Ryoma Maxima Special Tuning and Utility Pre order info
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Ryoma's tests are always average distance based on several golfers. The reason why overall average distance can be 20y longer is because Ryoma is straighter. -

Ryoma Maxima Special Tuning and Utility Pre order info
gocchin posted a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Okay guys, finally its time to pre order the Maxima Special Tuning and new Utility. Its looking like mid to late April, mid for the U and late for the Special Tuning. I've already got the utility up in the shop here: http://www.tourspecgolf.com/ryoma-u-utility Special Tuning will follow tomorrow. Ryoma is claiming a 20-30y distance increase over drivers from other brands. Its not only a non conforming face on the Special Tuning but Ryoma also worked the design a bit to improve feel and decrease overall spin. This time all 3 models are available in Special Tuning, the D, V and G. As I explained with the conforming Maxima, all 3 heads are the same but with the differences being the face angle, finish and shaft (if you go stock shaft). So the prices do vary slightly. ie 1295.00 (1140.00) for the D and 1335.00 (1180.00) V and 1450.00 (1180.00) for G thanks to it's high modulus shaft. All models, utility and special tuning drivers will also be available as heads only (price in parentheses above) or custom made with any shaft through TSG. Any questions feel free to ask away here! -
Yes it's right by your house. Let me know if you want to go.

R, The reason why is because this driver is targeted at average golfers. So the shafts are light and soft and made for those specific target audiences. This is TM's premium distance line and for most golfers in Japan, the shafts work, and for those who they don't work, TM offers plenty of upgrade shafts. The Gloire line is one of the most popular here in Japan among Seniors and ladies and for good reason, it performs for them. But as you guys have discovered, they are very good heads, very good designs and with the right shaft can be a bomber.

Yes we will it's the X-Line W or weight which will be in the low to mid 70 gram range.

Gloire distance 2014 driver arrived! 36 hole Update!!
gocchin replied to Robb40's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Watched the Daikin jlpga tour event today in Okinawa. Gloire was the number one driver in play. The ladies tour here is always reflective of what is hot in the men's retail market in Japan. Even non TM pros try and get the gloire in their bags! -
As always I welcome you all to Japan and will gladly host you around Tokyo or the show. One of these years we need to do a full fledged TSG tour for members including golf, fittings and shopping and of course eating! I am still grasping all the Seven Dreamers info... it is mind boggling. The most expensive shaft is 120,000.00 USD and its like a piece of the Hayabusa Satellite.

Shingo believes a wedge gives him more accuracy and control when attacking the green as he likes using he PW for short approachs as well as pitch and runs. He also believes he can generate more spin with the larger face area of the wedge ie working the ball diagonally across the face. So it made sense to have a wedge rather than a big PW.

Art and everyone in this thread, I wanted to make it clear that we never asked Art (wmclarenf1) to delete his original post. We are more than happy to see him as well as other members share info on great products like Modart. However we did ask him to delete his posts further down in which he took shots at TSG ie "he hopes he does not get banned by TSG and he is not a big spender here etc". Those posts were unecessary and completely irelevant to Modart. We have already had discussions with Art over the last few weeks about certain issues pertaining to the forum and while I am not in support of censorship of any kind, his comments were uncalled for and those of you who know me, will know I am the most easy going and politics disliking guy on this forum, (^_^) However again those comments crossed the line. I know this may come across as puzzling for many of you and many of you may not even agree to the actions we take and everyone is entitled to come to their own conclusions. If however any of you have questions or simply want to discuss why we are closing this thread, you are more than welcome to email me anytime as always. Many members have developed relationships here and have created friendships with myself included which is a fantastic thing. However in a community like this sometimes we are forced to look like the bad guy which I am very sorry about and this is not the first time nor will it be the last. I hope you all can understand and as always I thank you for your continued support.

Please go to www.golftoimpress.com for the slideshow which I cannot post here. Another year another Japan Golf Fair gone by. The impact of this years show was greatly subdued by Tokyo's largest snowfall in over 60 years essentially shutting out tens of thousands of visitors from even reaching Tokyo Big Sight. My wife suggested I stay at a hotel in Tokyo the Thursday night before the show so I would not have to risk a killer commute through the snow from Kiminomori in Chiba to the Odaiba area and I am glad to say it was the right call as it was an easy ride into the show Friday morning. As always Tourspecgolfer and Tourspecgirl flew in from Las Vegas to cover the show. We shifted out focus this year to more of a social networking approach as we covered the show through Facebook, Instagram and google+, many of the posts which you can see now up in our new Social link. The golf fair itself seemed to take a new marketing angle as well with less flashy than usual booths and displays but more hitting and test areas for visitors to get hands on with all the new gear. Taylormade went from one of the largest booths last year flanked by 20+ female models to a more toned down booth featuring its new motto Loft Up+ and with a hitting area taking up more than half the booth. While the Japan Golf Fair is certainly the place to see new gear, truth is, there are few surprises as to what new products are coming out since TSG as well as our in the know members usually know well in advance of the show anyway. So the show is more about discovering up and coming brands and unknown products.Like for example Modart which we have already made a post on here. In coming weeks TSG will focus more on these "finds" as well as begin offering most of them for sale in our shop. Being a technical golf fanatic, I was immediately drawn to a booth titled Seven Dreamers. This is a shaft brand unlike any other we have ever seen. It is of course high modulus carbon which is nothing new but it is the way they design and manufacture the shafts that set them apart from any shaft maker anywhere in the world. We will be going into more detail with a dedicated post on Seven Dreamers but to make a long story short, they manufacture each shaft based on EACH INDIVIDUAL. A fitting session done at their Tokyo Headquarters utilizing their own in house 3D swing analysis software allows Seven Dreamers to collect enough data about a players swing to be able to design a shaft from scratch for that player and even a specific head he/she is using. And it does not stop there. Seven Dreamers's parent company is involved in the building of satellites from around the world, supplying the highest grade carbon used for space travel as well as other sports (ie formula 1 car racing) and will utilize the same manufacturing expertise and machinery to make the shafts (and the machines they use are nothing like what other golf shaft makers use - but more on that later.) Chris and I have already been to their Shiba Koen shop and were blown away by the mind boggling process and finished products. While there were of course many new products we have come to expect from all the big brands (plus an influx of more shoes than ever!), it was Modart and Seven Dreamers that really got us excited especially now since we will soon be offering both brands at TSG. Stay tuned as we share more details in coming weeks!

TRPX Messenger FW - Special Introductory Offer for Forum Members
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The FW will be later... we hope summer! -
It's finally here, TRPX's new Messenger Fairway Wood shaft. Specifically designed for fairway woods, the Messenger brings distance, control and ease of use in a balanced package just like the driver shaft. The Messenger FW is also heavier by 3-4g than the driver shaft even though it is 2" shorter in it's raw form (so it is in fact even more heavy based on equal lengths). TRPX tested several configurations and bend profiles and kick points and settled on a tip stiff and mid to high kick point which enhances feel in the hands and produces a strong powerful fairway wood trajectory with low spin. TRPX has also used a different flex rating system on the Messenger FW using Stars instead of an actual flex designation. The 4 stars are aimed at Touale, Messenger and X-Line users and can loosely be translated into SR, S, SX and X. If you need help choosing a flex just email me. Retail Price will be 450.00 + 20.00 shipping per shaft but for a limited time only forum members can have the shaft for 340.00 + 20.00 shipping. Email me at [email protected] to order as our next batch comes in next week!

Hi Guys, ONOFF finally came through with retail pricing so we can begin ordering the CB358. PLEASE NOTE, THIS SET IS VERY LIMITED. ALL SETS ARE MADE ON ORDER BY LABOSPEC, ONOFF'S TOUR DIVISION WHICH ALSO MAKES ALL ONOFF TOUR PRO CLUBS INCLUDING SHINGO KATAYAMA. It is scheduled for a mid April release but you MUST order now (or as soon as possible). Contact me at [email protected] for special member prices. Below is a reference list for retail prices and specs. Other shafts are available as well ie KBS, Tour AD etc. They are only making 5-PW so no 3 or 4 iron. Shingo likes utilities over long irons. The PW is a 46* wedge specially made for Shingo. Threw in pics of Labospec as well which I took when visiting them. As many of said this could be the iron of the year!
