New 2014 Titleist Vokey Cold Forged Wedges for Japan
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Rob what lofts are you thinking of? That will affect the choices as well since certain grinds are only available on certain lofts. -
They don't say anything about frequency matched in the description or their product video. http://www.truetemper.com/products/dynamic-gold-tour-issue

Mizuno Japan Only MP-R4 Forged Wedge - Retail and Yoro
gocchin posted a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
We'll be adding the new MP-R4 wedges to the pro shop. They are of course also available for Yoro Craft including 11 finishes and custom stampings. Here is Dr. H's raw finish, custom stamping 57*! -
Last summer Crazy had decided to stop producing the Target Tour shafts (which is too bad cause they were great) as the production costs for the shafts were rather costly. They decided to partner with KBS to start carrying their iron and wedge shafts for Crazy customers and iron builds but were shocked at the inconsistency in quality and specs when they received their first batch of shafts. So they decided at that poing that every shaft would be spined, flex and frequency tested, weighed so that each set would have consistent specs across all the irons meaning more consistent feel and performance. They would then stamp/sticker their Crazy Sports sticker (aligned with the spine) to certify the shafts. This is similar to what DG did with the Tour Issue though I am not sure if the Tour Issues are more than just hand picked for weight consistency. They are available by special order including KBS C-Taper, C-Taper 95 and Custom Color for KBS Tour shafts and Hi Rev.

Do you typically take a divot and how big? How are the conditions? Firm or soft? Do you hit fat shots? -
No news yet but we will find out closer to the Japan Golf Fair next month as always!

Have two of Varit's Gold's putters here. He can correct me if I am wrong but these would be about the 6th and 7th ones he has gotten? The first is a Teflon black inner Sound Slot with Next Gen PZ Milling. The second is one of the 1st Edition Seven SM490A putters tuned by Gold's and finished in a Teflon Satin.

gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Updated the third post with FW and UT pics. These are damn easy to hit and HUGE distance!! -
If you like a big head then the RMX Forged is a great choice especially if you are looking for distance. Romaro Type R is also a great choice and they can be made with any shaft available in Japan. My review is here http://www.golftoimpress.com/romaro-ray-v-forged-type-r-iron-review/

2014 Vokey Cold Forged Wedges...Looking for feedback
gocchin replied to Baddmnkey's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Last I checked Titleist Japan has barely any stock left of the 2012 Vokey Forged, maybe 48* and 54* is all they have left. I gamed the 2012 for a whole summer but prefer the new model as its not quite as thick looking and the variety of grinds makes more sense. Vokeys are always quite soft and I honestly cannot feel much difference if any between the S20C and cold forged. My explanations for the material change and grinds are here for those who missed it. -
Yamaha RMX Forged vs. ON-OFF Forged vs. Titliest VG3....
gocchin replied to Henry's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
RMX is the biggest and most automatic though the VG3 is not far behind in ease of use, All 3 irons launch high very easily, especially the VG3 and ONOFF thanks to sole weighting. The VG3 may have the most balanced shape at address though some find the top line a bit chunky for a blade length that is shorter. Feel wise the ONOFF Forged is the best and maybe the most all around ie balance of forgiveness, distance and workability. -

Taylormade Japan 2014 Lineup - Gloire, SLDR 430 TP etc!
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
In Japan the Gloire is more popular than Ryoma and is one of the most used drivers on the LPGA Japan which is reflective of what average to better men golfers use. -

ONOFF Drivers are here for testing and photos! The Type-S looks awesome. Type-D looks ultra forgiving as always. Will test later this week!

Taylormade Japan 2014 Lineup - Gloire, SLDR 430 TP etc!

Snapped some photos of the TM Japan SLDR 430cc TP today before going out for a spin with it later. Nice deep face, less bulge compared to many drivers on the market today. Black IP finish is very cool. TP stock specs have the face at 0.5* open and 56* lie which will favor those who have trouble with the left side... slide the weight to Fade and it will be even more anti left. While the CG in the 430TP is low, it is quite forward in the face which also results in smaller gravity angle. This equals a low spin powerful penetrating trajectory and workable ball. Because of this design, TM decided to offer the TP in 10 and 11* lofts to help with launch. This has the stock TMI-1142 shaft (comes in SR, S and X) which feels pretty stout but of course you can also get TM's full array of JDM upgrades from their custom department including the new Speeders and Tour AD MT. -
Hi Anton, I have one arriving here tomorrow for photos and testing. As you know there are typically JDM TM drivers made for the Japanese market, usually these are made at the same factories as the rest of Taylormade's clubs but under the supervision of Japanese management and QA. There are different design teams and staff for the Japanese models specifically though they do work intertwined with TM USA staff as well ie for the Gloire line for example (which do feature typically very different materials, ie forged irons and drivers, carbon composite drivers etc. As you noted the shafts are always the real aftermarket shafts, not OEM versions. I am not sure what the current USDM SLDR's are like but the 430 TP has a lie of 56* which is not adjustable through the adapter.
