  1. Yes that is absolutely correct. The lighter aluminum weights do not need to be cranked in so tight. I pretty much screw them lightly till they no longer turn, no extra force is needed and they are so light they will not go loose or unscrewing themselves.
  2. Guys here is the deal about the weights, the lightest weights which are the 1g and 2g are made of soft aluminum and will strip easily. These must be removed with care and not overly tightened as the aluminum is that soft and can actually twist with too much pressure. This is a Jbeam wide thing and not just TRPX. It is not a defective screw but simply a weakness of the design as the only way Jbeam can make 1g and 2g weights is to make them out of aluminum but it means they are too soft! I will talk to them about it and see what they think.
  3. Feel is definitely personal and subjective... I find the Yamahas too muted and I like the lively but crisp feel of the TRPX drivers. Tom you made some interesting comments about the ball flight... The S has a lower CG so is supposed to fly higher. The touale is a lower launcher than the Mesenger, ABEX did this on purpose since the Touale plays softer and softer shafts have a tendency to want to launch higher so he tuned the design for a more flat trajectory.
  4. What is there to be confused about Stew, you said it yourself, extremly accurate, easy to hit., consistently well. shapes the ball nicely. Its everything we want in a driver. You even have it listed as your fall gamer. It is straight and keeps you in the fairway... that is what you want and what the Ryoma can't do for me even though it is long (and high).
  5. Definitely the new CB has more offset than previous years and the reason why is in the past the Tourmodel was only one model aimed at the single digit and pro. Now there are two tourmodels and because the MB focuses on the single digit and pro they can afford to make the CB target a much wider audience, meaning more forgiveness and a larger profile and more offset. That said, I have been doing more testing of both the CB and RMX Forged... both very easy to hit, the distance is amazing on the RMX Forged but surprisingly the CB with its forgiveness is not far behind.
  6. TRPX has made life on the links a lot easier!!

    1. pca168

      pca168

      what degree did you use?

  7. Sure so let me get this straight... say Craig suddenly decides one of his works from the master needs a new home so posts it here but for TRADE not sale?
  8. I don't think anyone has tried one yet. The most success has been with TRPX shafts followed by Crazy shafts. A few tried other mainstream shafts did not seem to mesh as well. If the Quadra is a proven performer for you it could be a good fit especially if you played it in a reasonably deeper bore head.
  9. I watch Rikako play several times a year. She is here in Chiba at Morinaga on the LPGA this weekend so I already watched her hit on practice day earlier this week. Her all striking is one of the best on tour here and she takes the driver 270 on a regular basis and for a while was playing the Z725 (now Z925). I can sit there all afternoon and listen to her strike the ball, in video and in person is completely different. Nice girl, lot of fans.
  10. Haha I just asked you that in your BST thread.... That's awesome!
  11. This is why its the most popular selling driver for us in the last 2 months or so since its launch. Its not even in the pro shop yet and we have already moved more than 60+ drivers. That is like Ryoma at its peak or better. Thing is just long and forgiving especially when paired with a TRPX shaft.
  12. Availability already covered in the intro thread: But of course demand at launch is always huge so its first come first served.
  13. There is a thread dedicated to feedback on the drivers. Lots of good feedback on feel and trajectory: http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/topic/35527-trpx-driver-and-shaft-review-thread/
  14. They should look the same as they are plated that way. Unless you use them so much that you wear through the plating.
  15. They are definitely too busy... wait till you see the soles!
  16. Its pretty much long drive spec. 47.75" long... no that is not a typo!
  17. Well there you go, Debbie is capable of a surprise bomb! (^_^)
  18. Yes busy but the shape is really well done.
  19. They are a dark chrome vs standard chrome in the non limited, but in the sunlight they don't look that much darker. It is a subtle difference though I don't have the originals here to compare side by side so I'm going by memory.
  20. Impressions. After going outside with the irons and seeing them in the sunlight, the finish is indeed a noticeable darker chrome. The models are nothing new but rather this years irons, the 709CB, 709MC and 909MB thrown together as a combo set, with slight changes to aesthetics and stamped limited. Each model was a strong performer already in its own rights but Tourstage decided there was enough demand to throw the 3 together, the CB in 3 4 5 the MC in 6 7 8 and the MB in 9 and PW. These do work well together, the longer faced MC for the long irons excel in getting the ball in the air and are the largest of the 3 irons. The MC a combination of feel, distance and control and the MB control and stability for attacking the pin. I think some people would have been happy with the CB or MC in 3 4 5 6 and the MB in 7 8 9 PW. Feel wise its typical Tourstage, firm but soft. Overall nice irons and for those who want a combo set definitely an option. It seems many do as demand for these are through the roof in Japan and we are even having a hard time getting them as big golf chain stores are monopolizing stock. We'll be lucky if we can get a couple or 3 sets even.
  21. Here are sole pics... great grinds on all the soles with leading edge and trailing edge relief but a bit on the busy side with all the text. Always in order of 709CB 709MC 909MB One thing TS does know how to do is trying hard at making better players happy, that means less offset and boxier sharper head shapes. I have to shoot these again as the 709MC was out of focus, I reshot it, but the lighting was different but you get an idea.
  22. Arrived today for photos and testing! One quick first shot...
