Hi guys, Yamaha did their product launch for 2012 today and I will be doing extensive coverage of all the new products on the blog: http://www.golftoimpress.com Just a quick heads up because I know many of you want the new 2012 V Forged Tour Model Irons. Endo forged S20C and this year a milled face! Only 1200 sets have been made and more than half are already accounted for and this is still more than 3 weeks before the official shipping date (Nov 19th). We are starting pre orders now so if you want a set please email me. Standard shaft is S200 but if you order now, Yamaha can custom build with KBS Tour or Modus3 as an upgrade.

Hi Andy, Many posts on the blog on its functionality. http://www.golftoimpress.com/ Works with any club, anywhere.

A ball mark on the center of the face doesn't necessarily mean you will get perfect impact. Your face also needs to be perfectly square up. For example a player can cut across the ball from outside in and hit the center of the face by that glancing blow will create much lower smash factor even if the center was hit. Its all about square impact right in the center. 98% means probably over 1.47 smash factor which is getting up to top amateur and pro levels (1.47 consistently) with the driver. If you can do that consistently that will be pretty good. (^_^) For those using the REP you should also keep in mind that the balls you use can even affect the efficiency rate as some balls produce higher balls speeds than others.

I wouldn't exactly say the AF-502. More like in between the 302 and 502. Dimensions wise, the ONOFF has a thinner sole and less offset as well as a slightly longer heel to toe face area than the 502. Feel wise, the ONOFF is closer to the AF-302 with rather pure feel. The AF-502 has its feel altered a bit by the hollow alpha gel filled cavity. Forgiveness wise, the ONOFF is as good as the AF-502. Distance is a difficult measure because there are many factors that will affect this including what shaft and the specs ie lofts may not be a direct comparison but the ONOFF is certainly longer than both the 302 and 502 (longer than the 502 by a tad).

KM-0107 Wedge was forged like the iron.

Jerry, Marc is exactly right. It simply means your efficiency is higher with the egg which is not surprising. It also means you could hit your Ryoma even better and longer if you got the efficiency up. Swing speed is only part of the efficiency equation so for example you could swing 40m/s with one club and have 98% impact and 48m/s with another club and do 92%. In the end its just a ratio measuring your ball speed relative to that specific swing's speed. This goes to show how useful the PRGR REP is and also how hot the egg is. Its no wonder many customers have always said the egg comes close to their driver in distance. Its funny you asked because I am writing a blog post now about impact efficiency with different club lengths (driver club lengths in this case). So far I have found it a very good tool and this is the same feedback I've gotten from several who have picked up a REP.

A few customers have replaced the short irons with Gekku Raws. Its the whole reason Yururi made the raws in those lofts because the stopping power is far more considerable.

Taking Ryoma Hi COR driver and new FW Pre Orders Now
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Preorders are over but we did grab a few extra heads, just contact me. Also for those who ordered, the FW is slated for end of this week (though not confirmed). We are still waiting for an exact date on the drivers. Thanks for your patience. -
Hi guys, Instructions for the REP can now be found here: http://www.golftoimpress.com/prgr-red-eyes-pocket-english-instructions/ I also reviewed it here: http://www.golftoimpress.com/prgr-red-eyes-pocket-on-course-testing-and-feedback/ Thanks, T

The FX-BM HG has a slightly deeper face and higher back, the weighting is pushed further back, it is made from what jbeam calls hyper steel. The FX-BM has a maraging face and the weight is moved forward a tad on the sole for slightly shallower CG. Face is slightly open while the HG is square. Both are aimed at the better player. The HG is a newer model and newer design while the other one is one of their originals.

Both the VG3 and ONOFF Forged can compare with the AF-702 but with smaller heads and less offset.
-
Yup their first attempt at the RoyDeco in white but they weren't quite happy with the way it turned out so they will try again.
-
Still trying to get the finish right but here is one of their first attempts coincidentally with the CRZ435 in white.

Taking Ryoma Hi COR driver and new FW Pre Orders Now
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
HI COR = COR over the limit meaning NON conforming. As I've noted in my posts here and on the blog, just email me and I will send you the FW specs and images. -
Darren is actually our first customer to get this, it looks like a cool accessory.

As most said here, feel is very subjective. Not only the materials and method of manufacturing will affect feel but also the design of the iron itself. For Endo they have many clients who they do forging for and the quality as well as amount of design complication is affected but the budget of the client and what they are willing to pay. However for Epon there is no such restriction as it is Endo's own private brand. Some say this makes Epon superior as Endo does not hold back when it comes to quality and design (even when it comes to design - there are different levels of involvement between Endo and the brand but thats another story). But in the end its all subjective as feel is different for everyone.

i tried the original iD435 and while it was nice it did not stand out for me like this new model. PRGR put a lot more design into this head and Endo did a great job making it. The feel is superb and I was surprised at how straight it was considering how compact it looked at address...
-
Haha Stefan, the "Red Devil". I like it! T
-
The head is one of the newer JBeam heads which is why it hasn't gotten around quite as much... the fairway woods are superb though.... hmmmm I should have recommended the FW to you J.
-
Ask Jason, he has them and likes them a lot. T
-
The 435 is certainly the better driver and we can probably try to find an 8.5* especially since a new batch will be coming later this month. The 450 is an older model now and is made by George Spirits not JBeam. When we first got our Crazy account, we wanted to try the 450 and the guys at Crazy said "no you don't want that one, you want this one and handed Chris the 435".
-
Just a heads up guys, that Crazy has told us they are having too many issues making the RoyDeco in white due to the more extensive logo patterns. So for now, the RoyDeco will NOT be available in white. Sorry guys.

This is just a reminder to everyone that the window for pre ordering the new and Limited Edition Ryoma Special Tuning Hi COR heads closes this Sunday at midnight EST. We have to submit our official pre order list to Ryoma on Monday here in Japan (which is still Sunday in the West). Ryoma has already told us that the drivers will most likely sell out before launch and the first batch of new Ryoma Fairway woods (which are also part of the order window) will also be sold out on launch. While Ryoma will continue to produce the fairway woods though customers will have to wait for the second batch if they do not pre order, the drivers are a one time deal and once sold out there will be no more. So email me if you would like to book... time is running out!

Depends on the shaft. Most models are readily available in white. Right now FW80 and RoyDeco are not but being made.

Heres one of the pics I took when at their office...
