We had a hard time finding an alternative to host the videos as the previous video service brightcove went from free to 6000.00 a year to start. I'm trying to get everything rolling again at least on You Tube but I just have to find the time! (^_^)

I would have to say down the road yes they will sell the shafts, but now word on that yet.
-
Off the bat the EV-5 is not offered but most likely will be down the road.
-
The matrix shafts they are selling are the red and yellow Taylormade versions while the upgrade shafts in Japan are the real deal aftermarket shaft. At the moment only the Kaili, Speeder and EV are available as upgrades.
-
T, I'd have to assume that the shafts would work on the USDM heads as well. They are exactly the same tech and it would be dumb of TM if they didn't. As suspected the prices I mentioned above are the set msrp's by TM Japan. We've added ours to the pro shop for pre order: http://www.tourspecgolf.com/proshop/Drivers/c4/index.html

My First Gold's Factory Putter. What do you think!?
gocchin replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Blazing hot... Sasaya-san was very happy with the way this one turned out. I love the finish. -
Yesterday Mitsuka Yoko won the Daiken Open in Okinawa playing the R9 with FCT on the JLPGA. She was also playing the new TP Forged... look very hot!
-
Haha no need for that on this set! (^_^)

Okay checked in with Epon on the ferrules. While some initial sets may have shipped with the carbon ferrules, Epon's president made the decision to go with black ferrules for the AF-Tour to keep a traditional look.

The ViQ is a very good driver and considerably more forgiving than any of the X-Drives but it is indeed weighted for a draw and has a closed face. If you want to stick with the ViQ for its forgiveness I would suggest the kai'li 60 or 70. I'm assuming that you can get aggressive with your swing or tempo which is leading to the hooks or high shots? The Kai'li helps reduce hooks and provides lower trajectory, a heavier weight could smooth out your swing. Something to consider.
-
The Inspec shafts are PRGR's own proprietary shafts and are better than most stock shafts. They are rated for swing speeds not just flex so you can match the shaft to your speed. Even PRGR's top pros, Yano and Tanihara play the Inspec shaft in their drivers.

TM has decided to add the FCT option to their Premium top level ultralight XR driver. Great for the average and higher handicapper wanting more distance.
-
The MP-33 is still a great blade. The classic definitely has more offset and is probably more forgiving. I'd say these are for the player who still want to play blades but are also looking for more forgiveness and are more budget oriented. As for the offset, this is something Chris and I discussed... yeah there is still more than we would like there.

Geotech B-Stream Prototype Driver, FW and Utilty
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
No word of Left handed B-Streams yet but based on Geotech's past offerings (the old prototypes went lefty), it could happen. I'll ask them if its possible. The FW is very impressive. As you can see from the pics it sets up very well at address with a very nice shape. The face is also not shallow and not deep (I guess we call that mid faced) so still allowing the ball to be worked and at the same time offering some level of forgiveness. -
People have asked about these so I will provide some preliminary info from the dealer product news I get (TM loves to put up its new product page at the last second). The TP Forged for 2009 has less offset than last years model (according to TM but I have not had the chance to compare they side by side yet but the second I get demos I will). The TP Forged will be available stock with DGS200 or X100 and NS Pro 950GH R or S. Upgrade shafts at no additional cost are NS Pro 1050GH S or X and Project X 5.0 5.5 and 6.5 (I will need to confirm PX as I have heard rumblings that it may not be offered soon). As of early this year TM still did not offer custom length on their irons (which I think is dumb and I'm sure you all agree) but we will wait to see if they allow length changes closer to release in April.
-
Ah sorry, the 425V iron was a model for the better player so I would have to guess that they are 0.355 taper especially if your originals came with steel shafts.

Mike, TM Japan has set the suggested retail for the R9 Max as follows (US Approx): Stock Motore 600.00 Motore F1 TP 65J 695.00 Motore Speeder, Tour AD EV, Diamana Kai'li 840.00 We should have them in the pro shop this coming week for pre order at prices below that for sure.
-
The shafts are actually upgrades that push the price over 800.00!
-
The Japanese upgrades are the real shafts not the white/red paint scheme like you see in the pics in the first post. MSRP for the R9 Max is close to 600.00, so as I suspected the price in Japan does reflect typcial Japanese market pricing. We will try our best to price it better than that of course. (^_^)

Geotech B-Stream Prototype Driver, FW and Utilty
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Just in case you want to see/hear the sound again: Geotech B-Stream Prototype Driver: Geotech B-Stream Prototype FW: Geotech B-Stream Prototype Utility: -
I really liked the B-Stream Prototype from Geotech Golf look when I first saw them and what appealed to me even more was the prices. The B-Streams have a very clean design and have the black finish for a very classy look. They are mid sized and do have more of a pear like shape. B-Stream FW's and UT's have square or slightly open face while the driver is square for the 9.5 and 0.5 closed for the 9.5. The B-Stream is designed for max carry with low spin to still that run out. One thing that really surprised me that I did not notice at the golf fair was that compared to most forgiving drivers these days, the B-Stream has a pretty deep face. All the B-Stream Prototypes are aimed at all levels of players looking for balanced golf clubs that give you a bit over everything including performance and forgiveness. As you saw (heard) from the sound at impact videos, these clubs are solid! We have them in the pro shop as heads only but they will soon be available through TSG from Geotech with all top shafts custom built. Here is the 3 wood: Here is the Utility: Here is the Driver:
-
That is odd that they did not. I will have to ask Epon why though.

So Geotech followed up the very popular N-16 Prototype blades with the new 2009 Classic Blade. They listed to feedback from customers and made the classic blade with softer lines and a satin finish with less offset than the NC-16. I have a set of 4-SW on hand, it's my first set of blades really and boy are they small compared to my AF-701! For those who always say they want a no nonsense clean looking blade, this sure fits the bill. Geotech lists this as a straight neck but there is still some offset compared to say Miura or the 901's from Tourstage. These Classic blades are forged and made in Japan. These will be in the pro shop in the next few days and can be ordered as heads only or shafted directly from Geotech! So here's a look at the whole set: The 4 iron is here: Here is the 5 iron: Here is the 7 iron: Here is the PW: Here is the SW:

I think I will get one just because as idrive said it seems like something us golf crazy ones will enjoy tinkering with. What does the R9 go for in the US? As always Japanese pricing will be higher... I am getting pricing from the TM rep now. Damn the strong yen and Japanese market! (^_^)
