LPGA Players that play JDM equipment
They always have spares on hand for each players (at least the Japanese pros like Miyazato and Ueda) though as far as I know none of them have had to use anything yet. If worse came to worse I'd assume they would have to use another club to replaced the damaged one during that round and have something rushed over from Japan for the next.

fixable or not?
That looks pretty looking directly at the sole.... how deep is it can you take a pic from the face side towards the damage?

New OZIK Line
Hi B, Lower launch, stiffer tip and a bit more spin. Slightly more torque looks like it could translate into more feel and kick.

TS 701G vs. Callaway Legacy Irons
Good work Randy. I have to agree with you. Too many people dismiss the Legacy irons due to their look but I actually like their look. A very nice finish and high tech forged iron look. As I had also mentioned in a previous post. Feel is very good. In your pictures above the 701G definitely has less offset and a thinner topline but the the Legacy is surprisingly compact as well since it is relatively short heel to toe. Both irons don't feel like undercut cavities and are great choices for someone wanting a mid to compact CB with forgiveness.

Callaway Legacy Aero Driver
It's more the head shape and design than just the size and changing the shape and design make it a different driver all together. They share the hyperbolic face idea it is a new face with different titanium (ELF) and smaller but longer "X" (starting to look like Yamaha's X inface). This face is supposed to slightly change the feel and sound as well as produce less spin. Instead of using the power weighting that the Legacy does there is a convex shaped heel with 24g of weight to help square the ball and increase MOI. It of course has a shallower face and shallow back design however its low spin seems to give it a piercing trajectory one that starts low and climbs steadily. One customer who has both said the Aero launched lower for him.

ONoff+ 2008 irons
People have mentioned this before and ONOFF says this on their English site but sometimes I wonder if it is a translation error as it makes no sense to me to have the exact same iron produced in two different places and the one for the more expensive retail market be made in China and the one for the market where prices are generally lower to be made in Japan. I think we need to ask ONOFF to clarify this.

Geotech Clubs - Sound at Impact Videos
I've been very impressed with the Geotech gear these last few months especially its price performance ratio . Sound can tell a lot about a club so here are some videos that let you hear the sound at impact of certain Geotech clubs. So turn up the volume and take a listen! Can somebody compare Tourstage 701 to 701G?
They both (701 and 701G) set up quite similar. Compact and thin top line with a touch more offset for tne 701G from the top. I would say the 701G is slightly smaller than the 202 (though it has been a long time since I saw a 202) but with new technology and design probably gives as much forgiveness. I took pics at address at the show. Don't use these pics to compare size as the camera was at different distances from each iron but you get an idea of how they look at setup. 701: 701G:

Which shaft spins the least?
The new EV spins less than the MD and kicks quite hard. Feedback has been very positive in Japan. xchangman gave brief feedback in another thread here that with a new X-Drive it spun less and kicked hard for him as well. Magazines are really impressed with the EV Rombax F and Kai'li as a new generation of performance and control shafts. Ryo has been playing the EV since the end of last season and likes it due to its big carry.

PRGR and Fourteen irons
All three are forged by Endo if I'm not mistaken and very soft. The 900MD was geared towards mid to low cappers if I remember correctly. The TC-550 is a mid sized CB aimed for forgiveness and performance with stronger lofts while the TC-1000 is a more compact CB with playability in mind.

GD Tour AD versus Fujikura 9E05
If its the AD-95 you are comparing with T, according to my shaft bible, the 9E05 is more geared towards control and the AD-95 more towards distance peformance. The overall profile of the 9E05 is slightly stiffer but trajectory is a tad higher most likely because the GD is mid to high kick while the Fuji is low to mid kick. Interestingly shafted with the same head, the 9E05 in stiff had less back spin by a touch. Overall finished club with a 5 iron in stiff flex was 306cpm for the fuji and 298cpm for the GD.

GT 5 wood black
I've also got a GT FW in my bag and love the feel. It feels very solid yet hot off the face like a little pop at impact. Glad you like it!

New Yonex Driver ??
Yes it gets released at the end of March in two versions, a 460cc and 430cc. $1 million is nothing considering they will sell easily 1-2 million of these drivers due to Ryo's popularity... that's say 1,000,000 x 800.00 each....

My Impressions of Fourteen V4
I thought the V3 were cast but I noticed Fourteen USA's site has them as Forged nickel chrome molybdenum which is the same as the new V4. I double checked and they are indeed 鍛造ニッケルクロムモリブデン鋼 which is indeed Forged nickel chrome molybdenum so I stand corrected. Ha I always thought they were cast that felt like forged.... but come to think of it looking at a few used ones here they do ding like forged!

New OZIK Line
I've got all the specs from Ozik here and they will be in the shop this weekend. In the meantime here is some info from Ozik: For 2009 Matrix is launching the new TP HD and HD series. So far the TP HD has been used by such players as Anthony Kim, Camillo Villegas and many more. Below is some basic information on the new product and information on the demo program we are currently running. SPECIFICATIONS: Matrix created new levels of structural strength and combined them with advancements in spin control. “HD” refers to the hexadecagonal (16-sided) internal platform on which the designs are built. With the stronger 16-cut butt section, Matrix engineers were able to better structure and strengthen the tip section without adding overall weight and, at time, even lowering balance points to better match today’s high MOI, low CG heads. The result is a stronger tip-strength-to-weight ratio than found with any previous Matrix OZIK. The internal HD structure can be made more consistently uniform than a circular deign, further reducing the need for specific orientation during installation. In terms of performance, players should look forward to flatter, more piercing Tour-type ball flights and a more stable feeling than they have ever experienced with a Matrix OZIK shaft. CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS: TP HD: 16-Cut Hexadecagon Internal Structure (patent pending) 20 Individual material layers 18 High Modulus graphite layers 1 Full length layer of Japanese Ballistic Zylon 7” of Matrix-wound 24ton, 50 count Boron fiber Strategically placed section of 1K woven fiber HD: 16-Cut Hexadecagon Internal Structure (patent pending) 20 Individual material layers 6 Unique Fiber types Strategically placed section of 1K woven fiber They also added a lightweight Xcon 4 for those wanting ultra light Xcon performance!

EPON product line for 2009
In fact there has been an increase fromm Epon as well. Yes we deal in Yen with Epon but all our funds are US dollars and that is what we get paid in US dollars, so when we turn around to pay Epon for the product it costs us considerably more US dollars than it used to, as I said - 15-18% more. And to give you an example of how Epon has raised prices. In Japan they are considered an Ultra premium brand and the prices are even higher. A set of AF-701 with steel shafts is 143,640 yen which at today's exhange translates into around nearly 1600 USD retail. We have long argued with Epon to keep the prices down and at least convinced them to keep global pricing lower. They still have the final say as to what prices are set for the market. 1600.00 for AF-701 with standard steel shafts 5-PW would be just nuts even considering how good they are. But you do raise very good points TBone. Timing is not good but we had to make an adjustment.

PRGR 2009 GN502 Hit Fairway Woods
James feel is more crisp not as soft as the Epon. Size at setup is similar and both have square to open faces and pear like shape. The difference is in the face where the PRGR is shallow and the AF201 is deep. The PRGR is easier to hit and get up in the air while the Epon hits it lower and is probably slightly more workable.

EPON product line for 2009
I do agree with you Tbone on your logic. I am against raising prices in general as well as jspec gear is pricey enough as it is. Duffer is correct the reason for the price increase is that the USD vs Yen went from nearly 110 yen to 1 dollar all the way down to 90 yen late last year. We deal in yen but charge US. We were taking too large a hit (15 - 18%) and have been waiting for a bounce back but it was not happening.

Custom clubs direct from the big brands
Because there are WAY too many options and in some cases difficult to describe. Though it is my plan to eventually get them all up.
