TourSpecGirl's set up
Absolutely gorgeous sticks Jacque, if they play as good as they look your H/cap will come down! I can see me spending lots of money on the two girls in my life with lovely equipment like that - will they ( and other ladies clubs) be available from Tourspec? Nick

If you like Custom Mizunos Click here!
I absolutely love the look of the MP33's in the flat black finish, but if my experience is anything to go by, they would look very shabby after only a few weeks play in wet English winter conditions. I have had several wedges in the flat black ( my Miura WMF's are in flat black), and my experience is that they lose the finish and rust quite easily if used a lot in wet conditions. This is not a problem with wedges, as the rust definately helps promote extra bite off the clubface and gives extra backspin on the greens, but I would not want my irons to look as rusty as my wedges!

Best SPOON 3-wood - which one is your favorite ?
Just played my first three rounds with my new Alpha Version 5 3 wood and hybrid clubs, both fitted with Mamiya - OP Axiv V's, what can I say, I am absolutely blown away by the performance of both clubs, I cannot believe the distance, accuracy and workability of the 22* Hybrid. Last week I used my pro's Sonartec Hybrid, the Alpha beats that club hands down, maybe it is the Axiv V shaft but the Alpha was longer and much easier to work than the Sonartec and it has much more feel. The 3 wood is equally impressive, I am hitting 20 to 30 yards longer than my Adams RPM Redline Tour 13*, with much less dispersion, a nice high ball flight gives a lovely soft landing, managed to stop the ball dead on a postage stamp temporary green at 240 yards! I don't know anything about Alpha Version products, where they are made or who owns them, all I can say is they are brilliant, thanks Alan (adt69), you've excelled yourself this time! Nick

Swing Weights for Wedges
My irons are D2 swingweight my wedges D4, as recommended by my clubmaker, I have found this to be perfect, the additional weight in the wedges is ideal for delicate shots around the green but not too heavy for full shots.

Driver Shaft Questions
IMO the Axiv every time, it is new technology compared to old. You may want to check out the Axiv V if your bad shot is a pull hook.

NS PRO 950GH vs. NS PRO 950GH WF or 1050GH
I have a set of Miura Cb 1006's with 950GH and a set of Tourstage X -CB's with 950 GH WF, the Tourstage have only recently been acquired but initial impressions suggest a higher launch with the Weight Flow shafts, I can't detect any difference in flex! Will report further when i have the time ( and weather!) to carry out a proper comparison.

Also have for sale Maxfli Australian Blades 3 to SW TT E1-70 Graphite Reg, 9.5/10 almost as new, would need a really good offer to part with these! Finally, Founders Club forged combo set 3 to SW with TT DGSL Reg Flex, 9/10, very little use, look and play just like Mizuno MX 23's, very underated club - cheap! All are in UK, shipping at cost, paypal accepted!

IRON SHAFT FLEX FOR A 100 MPH DRIVER S.SPEED
Hi Bela, Your SS with Driver is similar to my own, up until a few months ago I had always played regular flex shafts in my irons and have used graphite shafts for a couple of years. Imagine my surprise when I took the plunge and had a set of Miura's made for me, my clubmaker advised me to go for lightweight stiff flex Nippon shafts ( NS Pro 950 GH S Flex), the change has been remarkable, these shafts feel so good, my accuracy and ball control has improved dramatically, and I am shooting low scores as a result. My experience of graphite shafts is that they tend to promote a very high ball flight, give good distance at the expense of accuracy and control, but that is only my experience and I do know that I tend to hit the ball high because I have a steep angle of attack. Not all stiff shafts are the same, even though the actual flex is supposedly the same, weight, where the shaft is stiff ( tip, butt, mid section) will all have an effect on how the shaft plays, I realise from your post that your options are restricted, but there must be a clubfitter somewhere in your locality who could help and advise you. If not then perhaps you should consider a trip to a good club fitting centre because you could end up like me, I spent years buying clubs that did not suit me, it was only when I got properly fitted that i realised the difference! NIPPON
I really love my Nippon shafts, they do play softer than PX's but I think that they have better feel with a soft forged head, the PX's IMO are too 'board like' to get the full benefit of really nice forged heads. The ball flight is higher on the Nippons but does not balloon, the NS Pro 1150 WF (weight flow system) in X flex would IMO be a very good choice.

Mizuno MP 31
I don't think MP 31 was ever used, MP 30's were CB's, MP 32 Cut Muscle's and MP 33 pure blades, maybe Miz were planning a MP 31 at the time but nothing came of it? Mizuno have also not used 34, 35 & 36, the MP 37's were a pure blade, are there any mizuno insiders who could shed light on the model number policy of this company?

custom fitting and puring? (HELP)
I use Nippons and my clubmaker did not pure them, he does pure all graphite shafts as the benefits of puring on graphite are far greater than with steel, particularly the Nippons which are made to such exacting standards. I have heard good reports about Precision Golf but IMO their prices are higher than most. Where abouts are you, there are a couple of us on TSG who use a first rate clubmaker who is based in Scotland, he does a brilliant job and I would recommend him him to anyone, PM me if you want details. Demo thoughts
I agree, even though I am impulsive by nature and have bought Miura CB 1006's without demo'ing them, I would be willing to pay any reasonable cost ( shipping, insurance, demo fee - refundable on purchase?), for the opportunity to try something before buying! If you could arrange something on these lines, Chris, I am sure that you would see a return on your investment. Nick

Please rank the following in terms of "softness..."
All the above brands have merit, indeed they all produce outstanding clubs. The question of feel is totally subjective, I currently play with Miura CB 1006's which I think are the softest feeling heads that I have used in over 30 years of playing the game. Chris ( Tourspecgolfer) tells us that the Epons are softer because Miura's spin welded hosels reduce the overall softness of the head. I have not had the opportunity to play any of the Epons ( Type J or X), but have had experience of other Endo forgings and I have found them to feel more 'clicky' than the Miura's, similar to Mizuno's more recent products. If you are in the market for new irons, you wouldn't be disapointed with the feel of any of the above, only a back to back comparison would would tell you which felt best for you. Good luck with your dilemma! Nick

Happy New Year to All
Happy New Year everyone, lets make it a good one for all TSG'ers! Nick

Miuras Giken's New Forged Wedge!
I endorse Plus 1's findings on the Miura wedges, I too have the 53* and 58*, I have only played with them in soft conditions here in the UK and the 58* does dig on full shots with my usual steep attack. I think that it will be excellent in drier conditions, the 53* is very versatile and the unique sole design allows you to open or close the face to make different shots around the green. The 53* is staying in the bag, the 58* may get displaced until the ground firms up, my trusty Adams 60* may yet get another outing! Nick Happy New Year to all my fellow TSG'ers

WOW Factor
PRGR T3 with Axiv V 6070, had the WOW factor from the first swing! Still has it after a dozen rounds! My Miura CB 1006's were initially 'nice'!, now they are WOW, as I get more familiar with them I am trusting my shot making and distance control, the gorgeous soft feel of a centre hit shot, the trajectory and accuracy often make me say WOW! This weekend , even my playing partners have been saying WOW to a lot of my shots!

Pics of the Miura WMF-03
Thanks for the confirmation, I assumed that they were meant to rust. As with all Miura clubs, the feel off the clubface is exceptional, can't wait for the greens to firm up as I am sure these wedges will really perform in better conditions. Nick

Now Available Epon Model X NiCr20 Finish Wedges
I know what you mean about the Miura's, I have found the same with my WMF03's here in England, they are not suited to the wet conditions, by the way are you finding that yours have rusted, I do think that they will be great when the ground firms up, but to be honest I have never found a wedge which works well in really soft, wet conditions. I would ask Allan, but you know what he's like, he'd sell me something else that I can't afford - LOL! Nick

EPON 460 any reviews?
I agree entirely, any TSG'er wanting to buy a new driver/shaft combination should seek out Tourspecgirls recommendations for which Axiv shaft suits your individual swing characteristics, her advice is superb and lets face it we are not talking peanuts for this type of equipment so getting the correct advice is worth a fortune IMO.

Now Available Epon Model X NiCr20 Finish Wedges
WOW! they are awesome looking wedges, I can't believe that something that beautiful will be restricted to so few sets, surely demand from us TSG'ers alone will make them rethink ! I only say this because right now I cannot afford them- but I have already started saving for some! Nick

Pics of the Miura WMF-03
Nice pics! I have had mine in play for a few weeks now (53* & 58*), they have a lovely feel to them, I think that they will stay in the bag for a long time. Chris, are they supposed to rust, my 53* is showing signs of rust which obviously will help the performance in the summer, but I wasn't sure if this was part of the design philosophy, or just my crazy need to play in all weather conditions! New Tourstage CBTX70 Caddy Bag
that is a really nice bag, how much Chris?, suppose I would have to buy a set of irons for it as well! God how I hate this forum - not LOL
