I am on the lookout for a good rescue club. I have owned the TM and find it is a hook machine and the Sonartec MD, which goes a mile but more of a low, boring trajectory and I am looking for something that goes high and comes down soft.

I found a Rescue built in Japan called Akira and it shows lots of promise. Has anyone played or have any information on these clubs? I am also interested in the Tourstage Rescue but have not had a chance to hit them.

Cant go wrong with the F/UT.. I love them

My #1 Choice is the Japan Nike T100, its wicked sweet to hit.

The Akira is closed face with a carbon crown. I think they are on to somthing with this in UT woods. I have never hit any so i cant comment on performance.

The FUTs are the best. I just ordered my second one. No reason to hit long irons, or even fairway woods for that matter, when you can just smack these out of any lie --- sand, tee, rough or fairway.

Awesome club.

chris how long have those nikes been out? How far do you think i would hit a 19 degree if my swing speed is 110 with my 2 iron. Also how much softer will those land. I am sorta of a nike enthusiast :smile2: can you tell

Hmmm with your 110mph swing speed you would hit a 19 degree about 475yds

They have been out for a year and sold out for half a year, very hard to get. They run about 370 shipped and were designed by Nike Japan. Currently Nike Japan has none in stock.

did i write 110 i meant around 100. 110 id have to put both cheeks into that swing.

I just received the new Mizuno fli high CLK rescue, and it is the best one I have ever seen and tried. It hits so high and long it unbelievable, and the carbon crown looks great. This is definitely one to look at it, and it is going to be in my bag for a long time.

I agree. I still have the F/UT's but when I just want to substitute one club between my 5 wood and my 4 iron, this is a perfect fit. Great clubs.

I had a chance to hit the new Mizuno Rescue and the Akira side by side, but only in a golf shop into a net, so I do not know the ball flight. I was impressed with both. I am also considering the Tourstage after listening to your comments. Do you prefer one over the other?

Thanks,

Mike

Well it comes to the $ spending 300 something for the FUT or 175 for the CLK. There both real good but the Mizuno I believe is just as good, or even better IMO. The $ really puts thing into reality also.

I get a higher trajectory and a different distance (because of the loft) with the Mizuno. The F/UT's are more boring trajectory and stronger. The NV hybrid shaft in the UT's probably have a lot to do with it too.

Is there any rumors or a chance Gauge Design will be offering a rescue/utility club.I just got their 3 & 5 woods and I am sold.the best I ever hit or played so if they enter the hybird market I would LOVE to see that.

Assuming the head is about 230 gms, at 100 mph, you should get 228 yards.
