bert-b
Well, I took the plunge and purchased the Gauge Design MB-2 heads from TSG! Once they arrived I knew the paintfill needed pimpin'.... How do you like them now???? If they play as well as they look, they are :money: They will be shafted with NS Pro 1150 Tour's, stiff flex, the new Golf Pride Dual Durometer grips, and custom 1" ferrules (of which I haven't decided the ring colors yet). I can't wait to get them on the course! Thanks to Chris and TSG! Bert-B

A couple of questions: 1) How do you do it, as the gold just looks sensational!! 2) Will you post some photos of your ferrule options? 3) What is your swing speed with the driver, as I am currently deciding between S & X 1150 pros for my irons

I used a standard paint remover gel first. Then with a thin brush applied plasti-kote brush on fast dry enamel paint, color gold leaf B31. I bought from www.golfworks.com. 2) I don't have any pictures of the ferrule options, my clubmaker puts them together. They will be 1" with either 2 white rings to match the standard ferrule on the GAS1 wedges, all black, or possibly with 2 gold rings. 3) The swing speed with my driver is between 105 and 110 mph. My 6 iron club head speed was tested at 83-85 mph. Most club fitters would try to recommend a regular flex shaft for me, but because of my quicker tempo I went to stiff flex and have been happier with better accuracy while not losing any noticeable difference. Thanks! Bert-B

xraes
Very cool paintfill. I played my second round today with my new MB2's. Unbelievable. I can't believe how "solid" they feel. I don't know how much is the head or shaft (NS pro 1150, stiff) but I love them. For someone who has played MP33's for years, I can't imagine going back to them any time soon. If it helps, I have a driver SS of 105-110 and hit a low trajectory. I have a higher ball flight with these definitely versus my mizzies with dgs 300's. I do have a question for anyone. The wedges are destroying the ball. Unreal spin, but Prov1's don't last two wedge shots, V1x seem to fair a little better. Any recs. for a high performance ball that can tolerate these wedges. Hope to have pix. of the new gear soon! :gauge:

Brand new out of the wraps these will destroy balls.

The reason for the question is that my clubs are over standard length, which would add to the swing weight. The other question which you might be able to answer, is what effect over standard length has on the flex of the NS Pros. I am currently considering the x flex, over length and maybe soft stepped. This seems like a bit of a threadjack, however it all ties back in with the MB2s. There seems like there could a little friendly rivalary amongst the guys for bag of the month once everybody gets their MB2s set up

Once I order and get my heads, I can drive the Nippon rep here absolutely mad till I get exactly the flex I want. Should be lots of fun for one of us
