Posted November 24, 200519 yr comment_108335 I'll start it off. What putter suits you best. I prefer Anser style putters myself. Growing up I plade mostly blade (8802) type putters, but for the las 10 years of so the Anser style has won out. I am going to give the Zing style a try in the near future.
November 24, 200519 yr comment_108343 I was a blade guy for most of my life, then moved to a center shafted mallet, and now a heel shafted mallet GDJ ELDIK GDO and I will stick with it. :tsg_smilie_cool:
November 24, 200519 yr comment_108412 this is an ''at the moment'' sort of question. ie at the moment i am definate a blade style putter! however when i start to putt bad, il tell myself a mallet is really my favourite style! and the cycle goes on leading me to a neo mallet after that.....it happens to all hoes. lol. :tsg_smiley_yes: However i do believe that your swing path should determine the type of putter you use....ie if you are familar and practise the Pelz method, a centre shaft is definate beneficial......straight back straight through, where as if you are an inside to inside putter an anser is what is needed! :tsg_smilie_cool:
November 25, 200519 yr comment_108423 I prefer the SC Studio Design #1. Also have an Imola 6-02 TP and a NC GZ3. Next on the gotta have list is a Bettinardi BB24  Not sure exactly what style it is, I just like it.
November 25, 200519 yr comment_108434 I have mainly played the 8802 bladestyle of putter. I currently have a BB2 and am happy.
November 25, 200519 yr comment_108461 Really do not have a preference, If I can hit it I will play it. It is mainly a comfort factor with me and of course I have to like the look at address. Since I started golf I have used the a Blade style putter and never tried anything else. When I bought the YES! I stuck with the style I was used to. :tsg_smilie_cool:
November 25, 200519 yr comment_108469 Always an anser style. I think about the mallets but when I actually get down to putting, I do better with the blade / anser style.
November 25, 200519 yr comment_108479 The answer is anser! I'm using a mallet now... :tsg_smiley_laughatyou: but in my defence the mallet has a plumbers neck! I usually have a method of keeping my putting fresh, i play ansers till i have 3 below average putting rounds in a row, then I switch to a neo mallet and practice a lot on short putts. after 3 bad days with the neo putter i switch back to the anser and its good as new, usually for months.
November 26, 200519 yr comment_108501 It is the Anser actually, as I have four of them. I have put in the bag in the past an old Spaulding TPM series, which was face balanced.
November 26, 200519 yr comment_108506 I like the anser style but without the plumbers neck. I currently have the Yes Tracy II in the bag, but my backups are a Ping copper anser, Scotty Sante Fe, and a Gauge Designs GAA8.
November 26, 200519 yr comment_108515 I'm a big fan of the anser 4 (shaft-over anser), and now have a Bettinardi BB18 that is perfect to my eye. beruo
November 26, 200519 yr comment_108566 im playing the voodoo right now. but i have a rossa daytona and a scoty cameron studio design 1.5 is coming. not sure what i like
November 26, 200519 yr comment_108568 I play a sort of half mallet. A few months ago I hated it but now its the best club in the bag. Practise makes perfect! :tsg_smilie_cool:
November 30, 200519 yr comment_108889 Definately the blade for me. My Yes! C-Groove Tracy is a good mix between a blade and mallet, being slightly heavier than the regular blade, but slightly lighter than a mallet. If it works, use it.
December 3, 200519 yr comment_109008 I use an anser style: the One by Gauge Design. But I really like mallets like the Red X. I wasn't a fan of neo mallets until I got the Eldik GDO. I switch between the One and the Eldik, depending on my mood. One is face balanced the other isn't. My stroke is more of an arc than straight back straight through. The Gauge Design milling marks have really got me sold. I am a believer. Edited December 3, 200519 yr by Lance99
December 6, 200519 yr comment_109386 I switch between a blade and a mallet. I put a little better right now with the mallet.
December 6, 200519 yr comment_109437 For alignment I need a center shafted hosel with a touch of offset. For my stroke I need something that is toe heavy with some toe down balancing. Unfortunetly there is not many putters out there that fit this bill so I had a custom putter made by David Mills that is everything I wanted and I have not looked back since.

December 6, 200519 yr comment_109458 I love the classic Anser style putter. But I have recently discovered the advantages of the having an alignment aid such as the 2-ball. Hence, I now use a White Steel 2-ball Blade-2 putter.

Changes with the season (weather, greens, etc.) 8802 > Napa > DFX Blade > Anser 4 > Cameron SS Newport Tend to go heavier in the early sping and fall.
December 30, 200519 yr comment_111998 I am more of a Mallet guy. Getting lined up properly is so important. Always keeping my eyes open for the perfect answer style.
January 4, 200619 yr comment_112454 I agree with the previous quote, I like them all as well but always seem to end up back with my Byron or Gauge newport style. I think it comes down to your level of confidence and the type of greens you play. I live in the Midwest and play Bent grass geens that usually are laser fast so I have difficulty controling speed with Mallets and Moment putters. However, if you spend most of our time on slow Bermuda or Poa greens then the tendency is to leave Anser styles short. That's my two cents! High handicapers should stick with moments and keep it rolling ass over elbows...
February 17, 200618 yr comment_115577 I'm completely on different sides of the spectrum. TaylorMade Rossa Monza Corza Center Shaft 34" I working on getting my 1991 Ping Zing putter milled, black oxided, and personalized. Pretty out there, huh???
