Posted November 28, 200519 yr comment_108738 Finally they get it! Just recently they have been slowly coming into the spotlight gaining more exposure with top players in Japan. With the release of the high quality Armarq boron shafts early 05 and now their new line called "beres". Check it out: BERES GOLF by HONMA
November 28, 200519 yr comment_108739 I had a Homna driver prior to my current one, and I've got to say it was very good. Nice square head and good distance, especially off the top half of the clubface. The new 3 woods look pretty sexy :tsg_smilie_cool:

November 29, 200519 yr comment_108808 I still don't like it. Won't come close to Bridgestone or Dunlop in the "players" segment.
November 30, 200519 yr comment_108829 From just looking at their site I actually don’t like it at all >>> don't like the looks & don't like the name ~ I currently play Honma Tour Athlete 925 irons fitted with TFR 4.5s and like them very much. It’s a muscle back design but pretty forgiving (lower center of gravity + excellent playability) I would say just as or more so than the Mizuno MP-33s. I played the Gauge MBs w/ Tour Concept S3 before and find the Honmas just as good… I’ve been hearing great things about the Armarq shafts though ~ Honma has a big fan base over here in Korea (they’re more popular here than in Japan) and everybody who tried the Armarq shaft >>> are making the switch ~
November 30, 200519 yr comment_108845 Just scanned the Beres website. I believe Honma is addressing a specific price range within the Japanese market with these offerings (more affordable line). I currently play with the tour world driver and irons with Armrq shafts, and just want to confirm what Lion Kim has heard. The Armrq 864 shafts (standard offer on Honma tour world model clubs) are TIGHT! For those familiar with honma products from about ten years ago, these shafts are similar to the pro special super ferrite carbon shafts. LionKim, you should try the iron shafts, I think you will enjoy them!

I will wait a couple of weeks for the TourWorld 400 driver to be a hand me down in my direction once he decides what to shaft his TourWorld 460. People keep saying Honmas are overpriced, they maybe to an extent. I have yet to see a "bad" graphite Honma shaft, ill fitted to the player yes, but spec/QC and level of technology, Honma graphite shafts are equal to the $200-350 Fujis/Mitsubishis/GDs.
December 1, 200519 yr comment_108908 I'm glad to see they didn't go belly-up; we all know that talk's been going around. Hopefully we see more new stuff from them. It'd be a pity to lose a brand like Honma.
