Lance99
Does anyone have firsthand experience with the Gran Z's? A local shop has some, so I was wondering if I should take the leap of faith. I read some of the other posts, however no one seems to have actually played it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I currently play the Pro-V's and Bridgestone B330-S's.
bogeydog
Yes I played with it last week. A local shop here had some with misprints in the logo, otherwise the ball was ok. I found it to feel explosive off the tee, but super ball and hard off the irons. Sounds strange. It didn't spin much and I had difficulty controlling it on the greens. After 12 holes, I switched back to the Taylormade Black. Does anyone have firsthand experience with the Gran Z's? A local shop has some, so I was wondering if I should take the leap of faith. federerfan23
I have played it and absolutly love them. They are harder than a proV but softer than an NXT and they are also very LONG. It is the perfect ball for me and i wont play anythnig but them. I have them at my local Golf Galaxy for 1.50 a ball and it is well worth it. +TourSpecGolfer
I have to much spin on approach shots so i found these balls to be pretty darn good. Its built for the lower swing speed and doesnt feel as nice as other high end soft cover balls but performance is there but i cant say i shot a better score using this over my usual. stevopagolf
Best $14.99 ball I have ever played. Golfsmith has/had them in the bins. Plenty long, decent spin and good feel on the putter. Is the Pro V worth 2.5 times....probably not. My 2 cents.
dparks
I found a Gran Z in the weeds last week. I played 18 holes with it today. All 18, with plenty of chances to lose it. Thus, I liked it very much. I didn't notice the lack of spin others mention. Even looking back on the round, the only thing that stood out is a 5-iron that bit hard and only rolled 10 feet. I drove it great and made all my short putts. It has a good feel. Not as soft as Pro-V, nor as hard as the NXT. It's a good inbetweener. I like to play a pretty healthy hook and I was able to work it just fine. It didn't overspin, nor did it go straight all the time. If I had a chance to play them all the time, I probably would...especially if they were free! I'm curious to know if they are the high end Pro-V price or the discount So~Lo. I bet they are inbetween. timtimgo
i was extremely impressed with the granz...i'm hoping it makes it's way oversees to the US soon!! I got them for $1.50 per ball at golf galaxy...and need to make time to go back and stock up. for me, they played very similarly to the prov1x...flew long, stopped off the irons, and spun off the wedges. the reason why i want more of these is that they held up better during the round compared to the x. my vokeys shred the x, but did zero damage to the granz. bumpNrun24
I too have purchased a couple dozen of the Gran Z from Golf Galaxy since they were $70 off the normal price. The only difference was that I didn't get a box! Oh well, I like them pretty well. I have a different opinion on the durability issue, but then again, I do play the Gauge Design SQBT wedges and they SHRED everything. Great performance for the LOW price. gus
I found this ball to have below average distance and terrible feel. It's an NXT in my opinion and should never be compared to a ProV1. Fine as a winter golf but will never make it in the higher price brackets. Hence; the winter ball bins for this below average offering. hocmoose
YES!! YES!! it plays very much like a pro v around the greens ... but has much less driver spin ... i would recommend you try the ball if you are not paying and arm and a leg for it ... it has a much better putting feel the the pro v and the line is screened on the seem for easy putting ... I have played about six rounds with it and love ... the "smart ball" tech works very well for

bumpNrun24
There should be no difference besides the alignment aid in the two. Have you noticed a difference?
