I'm thinking of purchasing a 58* wedge. I am considering the Epon X-Model Copper with NS Pro 1150 Tour OR Tourstage 2007 X-Wedge 58.8 with NS Pro 950. I'm actually considering a TM Tour Issued Y Cutter also. Which should I buy and why?

It's going to be pretty tough to get feedback on the new X-Wedge as they are exactly that... new.

However based on past models, the X-Wedge has always been a great wedge and the new ones look awesome.

You can't go wrong with the Epons though as many here can attest to. Soft and great feel, all the Epon wedges are definitely winners. You can always do what many here do... buy all the wedges when then come out and then complain that there are too many wedges coming out!! (^_^)

I like the lower bounce on the Epon SW and am thinking about 52/56/60 set in these. I presume the copper ones won't wear as well as the Ni-Cr, but the lower bounce on these wedges should suit the firm turf here in Australia.

I have not hit an epon wedge, but i can highly recommend the new X wedge. Amazing feel off the face. The grind is perfect for my swing and contact with the groud has been pure.

Can someone talk about the grind on the Tourstage? Chris says that it has an amazing grind but I'd like to know what type of swing and course condition it's best for. If they're both made by Endo and the TS has the better grind, the choice might be an easy one. But I love the copper head... choices, choices.

For all you Tourstage experts, what's the difference between all of the different models of the X wedge (2005, 2006, 2007,etc)?

I was this close to going with Tour-Issued Y Cutter but since Epon is the best of the best (regardless of Tour or no Tour)... placed my order for an Epon X-Model Copper with NS Pro 1150 Tour Stiff. Can't wait!! Now only if Epon would come out with a 64* model.

One problem with the Copper X wedge you guys should know about...

The finish on this club is so incredible you may not want to hit it!!! If ever a Golf Club can be good looking, beautiful, gorgeous etc., this is it. :atsg_smilie_roll:

I must have 50 wedges. I practice and play with the Epons. Best feeling, most versatile wedges I have found. I have a great sense of confidence with these wedges. Best feature for me is the consistancy I'm getting from shot to shot.

As far as wearing goes. I have a Copper X 56* I only use for practice. After about 500 sand shots and another 500 flop and chip shots, the club is wearing quite nicely. Still looks great.

To give you some info on the Tourstage its what i call a new age design, the shape is moving away from what other OEMs are doing with a more shallow face and straight leading edge. its for the better player who needs to open up the face yet has a digger/driver style swing. The leading edge is quite killed.

I expect more companies to come to this shape in the near future.

I play the Epon Technity because i like the lower toe grind higher than it is on the Model X.

How much different is the shape and grind than the 2006 X-Wedges?

Very different, its a tottaly new design. it seems more stable at impact now and designed to feel heavy where imo last years model felt compact, and thin.
