Wow. The Ferrari of Drivers.

I'll take one. 9.5. Unbelievable.

very nice. it would look awesome without the gold:)

Is this a custom TSG work option or a Epon factory option?

Wow!!!

Released date? :tsg_smilie_surprise:

Feb 1st sir.

Is this a custom TSG work option or a Epon factory option?

I would bet the Farm this is a Factory job.

is this a great paint job or are there any spec changes?

Love the look of this. Finish looks very similar to that of the KBS black wedge shafts. Absolutely beautiful and I do believe the finish would hold just fine. We are talking Epon here which is always top quality.

Any chance of the seeing the fairways follow suit, Chris?

and any rumours on a new Epon driver design / AF101 replacement? I did get a hint on that.....

I've wondered what a nitrided finish would do - Fourteen did it for a wedge, looked great (kind of satin nickel) and rather than a plating it'll produce an extremely hard surface layer (anti rust too).... think it works with Titanium as well as steels...

Coops

i'm waiting for Epon to follow suit on i-mix, evolver, etc..

My oh my..Stunning. This could be a must have

She's a peach! definitely ditch the gold paint though; completely ruins it.

Wow, I could take one just for the look. Do they offer anything lower than 9.5?

If they make loft 8 degree, it will not conforming from SLE USGA RULE. I sure that the EPON BLACK IP are more release ball and less side spin also lower trajectory for against the strong wind. Only -9.5 degree can do all best. sir.

Any update info about this beauty? I heard that it is longer than the old AF101 but the feel is less solid.

Ok, I finally bought my first epon driver, here is a brieft review of this beautiful driver based on comparison with my Tourstage 460 GR (same shaft set up).

Overall setup:

I installed my most favorite shaft; speeder 661 tour spec stiff flex in it, lenght is 45.25" with D0.5 SW and 264 cpm (with golf pride cord grip).

Look:

The black finish is amazing, beautiful and very durable. I hit couple hundred of balls with it already and no scratch mark on sole at all, only minor ball marks on face.

Feel:

Comparing to TS 460 GR and standard AF101, this driver gave me more muted feel but still solid enough. Impact sound also mute while the GR is very loud.

Performance:

My SS is around 97 to 103 with quick tempo. My normal ball flight is high fade but this driver has reduced a lot of side spin and turned my ball flight to be more straight. Carry distance is around 250 with few rolls for normal swing and 260 when I tried more aggressive swing. So overall carry distance is 10 yards longer than my TS 460 GR, while the overall distance is 5-10 yards longer for AF101.

In summary I am very satisfied with this the black beauty. It is not much much better and outperform TS 460 GR because I prefer the feel of GR more. But it is good enough to kick the GR out of my bag due to side spin issue, carry distance, and squared face. Lastly, it would be very cool if Epon offer new headcover for this driver (the hc is the same as old AF101).

I don't see it in the proshop... how did you order it? and how much does the finish cost?
