tomcat
Hi Guys, Tried a Crazy Utility stiff in my PRGR Egg and it does not work. I have no feeling at all during my swing, can't feel the head and nothing at impact. Maybe a bit too stiff for me, but I have a great feeling with a Tour AD BB7S in my both Royal Collection FW. I'm looking now for a replacement... BB7S trimmed to 39.5? Was thinking about a DI7S as well. Will get one on my Yam V202 Tour (currently on a Crazy CB46 6.7, but I have the same issue as on my hybrid...Crazy is definitely not for me :D) Any suggestion? Cheers Thomas

wmclarenf1
Tom, Another possibility is to get a Quadra 4AX SOF long iron shaft. The Quadra iron shafts feel great and perform very well. Weights of 50+ grams to 100+ grams for you to choose from.

Seems like you're having similar issues to what I had with the Crazy. If you want to try some cheaper shafts first I'd recommend these: http://www.jrgolf.co...brid_shafts.htm I had a 'Axivcore Red 100 S' in an Adams Pro Gold 16* and an 'Axivcore Black 100 S' in an Adams Pro Gold 20*. Feel was good, they just went a little left. I should have tried the X flex instead. Enjoy experimenting......... tomcat
what about trimming a tour AD RF7S (BB7S built originaly for RC woods) from a RC 5W to 39.5? Will the shaft keep its specs? (total length is 41.5 on my 5W).
potuna
The best hybrid shaft I've found is the Fubuki 415, they don't make it anymore though and the ax is not as good.
Blader-X
I've said it before and I will continue to tout it ; The SF line from Graphite Design. Its a dedicated fairway wood shaft and its only a couple hundred bucks but boy does it really perform in a hybrid. If I were to get another hybrid I wouldn't consider another shaft. Blader-X
thanks. my concern is then does it affect the shaft carateristics to trim it at least 2 inches? Not to my knowledge no. I have pretty much all my clubs built by Goodsie who is a member here and one fine builder of clubs. He could probably fill in more about this but I haven't found it be a problem at all. In fact there was a post on here not too long ago about using driver shafts in fairways and utilities. I've had many a driver shaft in a ute along with a few others here with no problems at all. The SF line by Graphite Design is a dedicated fairway wood shaft but that means you could put it in any fairway, really; 5 wood, 7 wood, etc. Ute lengths really aren't that much different that I would expect to see a problem. I was thinking about putting a RF7S in my UTE (BB7S custom built for royal collection woods). Need to find a new guy :)

driverhead
Project X graphite hybrid shafts are fantastic as are the Fubuki Alpha Hybrid shafts and the Kuro Cage hybrid shafts. What these all have in common is that they are very smooth (not rebar) have a great feel and a smooth kick yet very stable.
Baddmnkey
Another vote for the GD UT line. Currently using the AD UT 85g and really like it. Good price as well.

blackman
Don't know whether the topic is still relevant... My recommendations would be: - House of Fodged Hybrid - Oban Devotion Hybrid
scubawun
+1 on the fubuki 415 (not AX). Tour ADs are also nice and stable.
Hutch
I have to agree that AD SF shafts are awesome, versatile and good value, I recently gamed one in a driver and it was outstanding. I also am debating on what UT shafts to game in my 902s, I just got a CRZ with crazy UT Reg and it is great, I usually use stiff but the crazy reg works for me. You sure you used an AD SF shaft in a driver? Those are FW-specific shafts and are only 42" long. But I've used them and they are really good FW and/or ute shafts. +TourSpecGolfer
Any Crazy UT fans? Like the FW80 the UT never leaves my hybrids. Have been completely satisfied with it in my Type R hybrid for many months now.

Yep i posted on the subject a few months ago, I had it fitted to the Romaro ray HX nob san just sold, uncut length is longer than 42 as I had 1" extension and played at 45 if I remember correctly, but It was in my 202ht purchased from TSg store early this year and played 1 inch longer than STD so not sure of the uncut length. It is now back in my 202 3w extension removed, awesome!
