mygreenaliem
Is there such a thing? I like many on here have tried, tested, bought, swapped heads and shafts many a time in that endless search for a driver that looks right, feels right and which produces the results we crave for. Well, today I had a glimpse of Nirvana.... I put my 60g Diamana X X stiff into Ryoma Maxima D2 10.5 degree head and WOW. Amazing results - really nice ball flight, good distance and feel. Best I have built to date, and trust me - I have built a few! Going to do a track man session to see what the data says.
daamartin
High lofted head with tight, low spin shaft. It's a good thing! Hope the continue to come out good for you.
+TourSpecGolfer
I was a Maxima H8tr when it first launched and now I'm a believer. What was it? My wife she played the D1 and that was her longest driver ever but when she moved to the Maxima I watched her pick up an easy 10+ yds no joke! She now drives a green (reds) regularly when before it was just a dream. After that I put one into play with a GT-7 then later a Boron and found if the shaft is stable this driver has more carry and role that almost everything out there and it treats my toe & heel misses better than the D1 did. xerobound
Congrats and looking forward to what the data says. Makes sense with the newer heads being lower spinning. I know a bunch of pros that have 10 to even 12 degree lofted drivers in play. I've tried the Type V (10.5) and found it launched a slightly higher than the older model but had just as much roll, about 4-5 yards improvement. Which IMO is a big difference. Spoon
Always been a fan of high launch heads with high kick low spinning shafts. Good luck with the tests. Wow x flex dia x. Getting stronger carl!

I've said it several times earlier about the maxima... It's a finicky head and extremely shaft sensitive and not the easiest to fit for but when you do find the right combo for your swing, it's very long! Mygreen, skip the lm, it's what happens on the course that matters. Glad you found the right shaft combo for your swing. Play well and score low! Very good point on the LM but I am curious to see what spin I am getting. Is there nirvana? Hope not End of a hobby Ha ha! tokidoki1986
I haven't been able to find my yet, or maybe I'm still having fun trying all the upcoming that's why I never settle down with one.
Blader-X
I found it with the S-Yard .388 with a Graphite Design Z9003 Type 6s. That's it for me.

daamartin
Nah you need at least one for uber-windy links courses, one for tighter parkland, one for when your back is tight, one for when you are feeling fit........etc Doesn't mean you can't have exact same setup in 2 different lofts. That would be smart..............but that's also BOOOOOOORING!
Ian-500
I've just come back from a range session comparing my jBEAM 435r 10*/Quadra Red Tour X and S-Yard T.388 10.5*/Zeus Proto S..........I'm none the wiser. 435r faded and .388 pulled. I have a Yamaha V201 9* on its way to me, and I'll put a Diamana X 60s in it. Another test to follow, otherwise I'll try the Dia X in the .388! I will definitely stop ho'ing if I find driver nirvana with one of these.............possibly ;)

Blader-X
B i am building the same driver but with the Type 7s. Cant wait. I think you'll like it. The one thing about this shaft is that its the first shaft that I've tried in that weight range which has given me everything the heavier weight shafts have and not balloon on me. In fact this thing just hits bullets after bullets. I've got a 7s in the Romaro 3 wood which just recently moved the RC out of the bag. The type7 is perfect in the 3wood. RLL33
S-Yard t.388 with TRPX Messenger for me. It's so good on the course that it appears in my dreams at night afterward.
driverhead
I would classify driver Nirvana into 3 categories. 1. Best feel and reward on a pure hit. - SYARD T.388 - stock shaft. 2. Longest wow factor distance. - ADAMS LAUNCH LAB with project x. (3 straight drives over 300 yards. Conditions were perfect yes, (This club is unmatched for pure distance) 3. Best overall driving performance (distance and consistent accuracy) Fourteen CT 112 stock S. 4. Currently... Anything I get a chance to hit (we are mired in an ARCTIC WINTER around DC.) Coldest winter in years. Have no idea when I will get to play again. Hoping in a few weeks but the remaining snow will be a bitch to melt. POLAR VORTEX coming again late Monday thru Thursday. will not help at all. Blader-X
I hear these new pups take lots to load. How is the z7? Surprised u did not go with the x flex considering everything u play is x flex You know, at the time my swing was in a bit of a funk and with me feeling a little age I decided upon S. Since then, I've corrected a swing flaw that had been the cause of it all and I can tell you at this time, I've never swung better nor have been more fundamentally correct than I am now. However, the S still holds up and I can tell you is every bit as good as the P9x. I just really think the Z9 series is the next evolutionary step in the P9 series. My suggestion to anyone between the flexes is go with the softer flex as it will still perform. I don't necessarily always say that with most shafts, and in fact most shafts I would say go with the higher flex, such as my decision to go X in my MCI's. But with the Z series the stiff is perfect. I had thought really hard in going 6x, but no longer thinking that. Maybe if the head was a 460cc head; then maybe. But I'm loving the smaller head. I really think its the optimum size for me. I just love it and while I'll keep up with looking at the other drivers, so far nothing has piqued my interest in enough into changing. I'm after the 7S' weight more than anything else. flex wise probably more of the 6s. what to do. my decision to go for the 7s was more for the weight as the t388 will be build to 45.5-45.

As I mentioned I've got that shaft in the Romaro 3 wood. If I had it in the SYard driver it'd be just fine as well. When I put the 6s in I was "scaling" back due to the factors I explained earlier. I was very apprehensive about going 6s and talked with Tario a few times in regards to it. (As always, T is the guy to talk to). What I came to be pleasantly surprised about was that the 6s delivered everything I was looking for that I had been getting from my favorite P9003x shaft. I've always had to go with heavier shafts because the lighter weight never performed for me as well as the heavier weights. But the Z series was the first shaft in which the ligher weight performed as well as any heavier shaft I've ever used. And that's been proven to me now especially since my swing has really returned and I'm making a very powerful and fundamentally correct move. The Z series is the real deal for sure. Its everything the P9003x was but because of the different flexes and weights, its opened up the P9 characteristics to a much larger market of golfers.
