Spoon
My matrix f7m2 shaft is on the soft side i have already tipped It 1" which is ozik instructions for 3w. Id like to move up to A 80gram shaft in x flex. Id like to try a p9003x but hesitant as its a bit older and could be lagging in tech. Di8x/GT8x from the gd line And finally the B series 8x? Can anyone help me select?
Baddmnkey
Might be the wrong forum to ask about an 80g x flex shaft mr.Spoon How many members on Tsg would you guess plays an 80x shaft? Minus mjrDiarreha.... Might get more replies on Gwrx. :)
Spoon
Many use 70x in their driver. 80x in fw is normal progression:)

daamartin
Spoon I play an Accra SE80* X flex untipped in my Yamaha 3 wood. 3 woods are so hard to get right. This one has been my best performer for over 5 years. Ilima 80x was the next best performer (tipped half inch) in same head. Always a fine art to get a 3w to play consistently from both tee and fairway... Cheers D
supo
the diamanaB is an excelent shaft its higher launch its very very tight nad its smooth. i love this in fwds. 80 s is what i use , that seems perfectly fine. the p9 wil NOT be left by the way side 1 iota agsint higher tech newer shafts its still the nuts. the 9003 is perfect as well. Blader-X
The P9 is still a great shaft and absolutely perfect in a fairway. I mean perfect. Even though the Romaro is listed in my witb, the RC I've got still has the P9 and is just spot on as far as clubs go. The other one to look at is the the SF line by Graphite Design. I've spoken before about it and I've got the SF8x in my RC 17 degree hybrid. Its another ideal club and shaft.

Spoon
went to the fitter yesterday and he suggested the Fujikura pro85 or pro95. says these are the most stable shafts in FWs. did some research and adam scott and rory just swapped out their DIs and blue board's respectively for this one. anyone try this shaft? nobmontana
Don't know how the Zcom Pro95 X flex plays, but I have had the S flex firmly in my titleist 910 4 wood for the last 3 seasons. I love this shaft. Rory used to use the Zcom Pro95 and the Rombax P95 in his 3 and 5 woods during his Titleist years. He should have never switched!! But good to hear he's going back to it. I agree this is as stable a shaft you can find but obviously you need to be comfortable with the weight. Definitely not a distance shaft. but i'd rather have control and accuracy in my fw. Pro95 are fairly easy to find as it was once a very popular driver shaft among all hard hitters, 85s are becoming very hard to find outside of Japan. For what its worth, I am also a big fan of the Rombax Prototype 80B. A bit more taming required but one of the best feeling tip stiff shafts in my opinion. Phil Mickelson used this shaft for a long time in his Big Bertha fw. I believe he still plays it from time to time. Good luck and have fun with your search!! Vegaman
Speaking of FW shafts, why on earth is it that most JDM FW comes with ridiculously light shafts? Like 50 grams..completely unusable

Like 50 grams..completely unusable or light heads for that matter. I've never used more high density lead tape than in my s yard builds! never mind the shafts lets talk heads
Vegaman
or light heads for that matter. I've never used more high density lead tape than in my s yard builds! never mind the shafts lets talk heads This is a big part of why I'm still swinging my ancient Hawkeye Ti Pro 4W. JDM FWs are usually pricey. Too pricey to buy, rip off the shaft, install another (usually pricey again), and then still Leadtape it to supreme ugliness. Sometimes I feel like I'm lusting for clubs that are just not aimed at me, but aimed at somebody who is one step from a wheelchair or coffin
Spoon
Ended up getting the motore speeder F80 ehich is 85 grams stiff Untipped in my 3w and a tipped rombax proto P95s for my 5w.
