supo
Well as im a sucker for blades , these i just had to get . When i first got Them i was kinda wow, check these out , these are tiny thin ,gulp, uber Difficult looking heads . Ultra thin soles, razor thin , long blade, im not sure if i wanna play these in winter or in big wind They are shafted with the new modus125 x , (more later on feel) So idid an eye off vs my masdas and my tourstage marus both of which have zero offset and are very verry differnt style blades both of which have no similaities to the agrinds which is great! They did however got look kind afamiliar so i got the yururi 2010 pw and i went right now i see what i was looking at. Again not the same the grinds are totally different but the same longer blade . Again a very good thing bec the yururi flatbacks are one of my faves. Soi finally managed to get out and took a cpl of irons for a test with a cpl of new drivers and a cpl of wedges Buti was there realy just to see if i cud hit balls. The agrind irons with the new 125 shafts Remembering its 7degrees and mid winter , my swing speed is minimal and i was being rediculously careful so distance was irrelevant as i was just guaging feel nad looks. Ok So they are not epon/mizuno soft, they feel like kyoei. Which i love!!! Bit firmer a bit crisper just a slightly denser feel ,and that might have a bit to do with it Being Winter But i was hitting the ball superbly only concentrating on the feel and flight and not anythingneslse I was very happy with the combination, got a cpl to cut and draw ever so slightly Flight was higher than the modus120 and the 130s Very smooth feel to them centered shots were a thing of beauty to feel. Pw isnt so alarming with just a bit more offset , than i play but thankfully its realy quite nice and You dont notice it at all. Very happy with that . I think ill play these when the ground is cut short and the greens are lightning fast on shorter courses They are very precise looking clubs and i dont think they have one iota of forgivness to them at all, but igotta say i hit them reaaly well and they went exaclty where i was aiming when i did turn one or two over they wudda missed the green by way but the combo of the ns shaft realy does keep the much tighter left right.thats the thing with NS they are just so god laterally. Cant wait to get them put on course when it gets warmer. Not planning on gaming them any time in the Next cpl of Months till i get full strenght back and i think My home course with these are custom made for each other First impressions are way differnt To what i was expecting prob due in a large part to the shaft which i was a hige fan of. These will get bag time this season for sure Ill put the Snap comparions up when i the photosout of the camera. So far tho i like Them a Lot and Im looking Fwd to trying the cavity later this season. Oh best desiged lettering on a club ive seen The font looks awsome Sorry snaps wil have to wait 2 thumbs up so far
chiromikey
Nice review as always, thanks Stew! The first thing I thought of from the earlier pics is how much they looked like Flatbacks. If they have the similar feel that you mentioned, it wouldn't at all surprise me to find out these started out as Kyoei blanks.
supo
Flatbacks are much softer i thought , but its not a grat time to measure being mid winter and all Ill wait till i can hit both pw ina few weeks to get a fair comparison ,pretty sweet first time hit tho was pretty happy with them
+TourSpecGolfer
Thanks for the review! There are 2 types, one made by Kyoei for retail and Tour Issue sets hand ground by Ako-san himself.

supo
well.............. as expected , these are NOT for the airy fairy striker. they are TINY at address. micro thin and quite daunting at first. had themout on grassrange yesterday for a huge workout with the prgr idbls as a palcebo firstly the offest i was fearing is NON existant, no issue what so ever. esp vs the idbls which have none, so that point is now moot. and the 8-9-pw are seriosus weapons of flag destruction spent the longest time hitting these into flags with all kinds of atakc patters, LOVED THEM ! absolutely LOVE hitting these to the greens. the modus 125 are a super match as well. higher than the 130s and 120s. a more balanced feel than the 130s, not as head heavy in SW. distance was NOT great. but they are a real accuracy tool. flight was MUCH better than i anticipated ,they didnt move laterally anywhere near as much as i was expecting, which was great. kinda balanced out the tiny gulp look of them with some NS forgiveness left/right. feel...hmmmmmm not everyones cup of tea, they are DEFINATLY clickier. denser more solid feel. BUT not in a bad way. no siree. centred shots are primo.. off centre and u know about it. which isnt a bad thing. but u do loose distance. i stand by my thoughts id not play these on overly long courses. but on tricky little pete dye things , these cud be terrific, esp taking aim at flags. i loved doing this with these. more so, by a long way than with my fav prgr idbls. id go so far as to say id take them to hawaii no probs at all as the second set. play them ever y3rd day. and realy look to see what the do in breeeeezy conditions, im pretty sure they d go ok. but distnce loss cud be a factor. theres gotta be some though about matching a set of 4-5-6-7 idbl with 8-9-pw in these, or somehting like that. bec the longer irons didnt really get my blood boiloing near what the prgr did. not even close. bit too thin feeling to be nice in the long irons,. i summary...... id prob not have these as my only set of sticks, bec on a bad day i think ud score a a basketaball number. but if ur hitting it well ,they are excellent. no complaints at all. also stand by the comment they are mustard looking in yr bag. they look awsome.! yea good , very veyr good blades for guys loking for that something differnt. but i feel they wud be served best as a hybrid set with thicker shorter long irons to the 8 then as they are to pw. yea, ill game them a bit for sure! Shankopotamus
I'll probably never have the game to bag blades, but I certainly like reading each review you have to offer. Yet another valuable contribution, Stew. Now let's not forget to write your name and date on your BST ads, haha.

supo
Gamed . Also in use for testing the shafts was a 6 from masda and prgr ,,the masda with aerotech110x and pgrg idbl with fujikura mci110 s. Well they all played realy well. Imno closer to saying oh these are clearly the better combo bec its simply not true, the main diferences was the mci was clealy the highest smoothest lightest and and easiestto hit. It was a delight. But it lacked the kick i love ,so i think ineed to hard step this, which ill do bec im building this setfor sure its such a nice easy set of clubs dont have to try that hard ,they just work but the stiffs were defina Tly moving around a bit laterally. The masda with the aerotech 110x was way tighter , lower and heavier sw wise.this doesnt like to got laterally at all. Its got a fantastic kick and maybe i can soft step this to make it just a bit easier bec if iwasnt really om song it wasa prettytpugh ask, now i know what the guys mean by these are themonsters of the aerotch range ,but. Ilove them, a soft stepping might just make them friendlier. But as a match for these heads , Oooohoo yes! The modus 125 are Stunning once again in x they lack a bit of feel but they are just magnificent performance coupled with these heads they really are a serious iron for sriously consistant ball strikers. Any thing less and u will struggle . I hit the ball really quite well today.but still managed to hosel rocket 3 ballls dead right.one pw from110 out, one 4 iron from the middle of the fairway and one7 iron on 18 ahhhhhhhh!,! I was cussingi just dont do that with most other clubs but as i said these are not made for johhy chopchop and the god ones i hit were as good as i got. One6iron in particular was prob as god as ove got. Just brilliant.so it makes me wonder , where im left with these bec That random "15th club" i carry manifests in all the wrong places a little too much with these ,maybe its just early season tho,,,,,, Overall i really liked them.they played really well overall and were much More arrow straight than i anticipated. Ill putthem away for a bit and bring them back put in warmer conds. Better than expected! Edited March 22, 2015 by supo67
