So what's new for Ryoma in 2015? The Beyond Power Driver, actually shaft and it's pretty wild, first thing to note is it's infinity flex, what's that you say? It's a shaft that works for which works for any golfer between 67mph to 111mph!! It's supposed to increase club head speed on average 2.7mph and combined with the non conforming special tune head it's a 20% increase in distance over a normal driver.

Now we have members who didn't care for the Maxima but we have far many more clients who love it and they still sell frequently.

Also new in 2015 is 3 new lofts in the UT, 2U/18, 6U/30, and 7U/34*

I thought the Maxima was a long, long driver, just could not hit it straight.

As you have mentioned, I think it was a shaft issue and most of us that did not get on with it, just couldnt get the shaft combo right.

I'm with you Craig and find it so strange I hit some of my longest ever with it but at the same time it got me in a lot of trouble and consistently yet as you mentioned there are some people that find it forgiving, long, and straight.

.. i hit some absolute monters with it consistantly longer than with the v-spec but ......................all over the place.!

I just got to play the Maxima and it's tough not to hook it even though I'm using the same shaft as the previous version that's straighter, for me.

If they offered the f**king thing with a neutral or custom face angle all of these issues would be resolved. Best all around driver I've ever hit other than the slightly closed face which causes a hook a few times a round.

Face angle on the Maxima is actually neutral. Most of JDM driver though have neutral face angle, looks slightly close. Epon 504 J,H , JBeam 435ii and maxima to name a few.

Yeah, true that. To have a driver look neutral you usually need to have it 1 or 2 degrees open. Then it will look neutral, especially for people withva strong grip I think.

Interesting to see the 18 Utility...wonder if this could be a 3w replacement?

Agree in the perfect shaft for Ryoma head. This is the one and only head that is difficult to find the right shaft. Crazy Boron went all over the place. Now still experimenting for the right shaft.

You guys reckon its also set up closed? Has anyone found a shaft that doesn't hook when installed in a Ryoma?

Incidentally is the Beyond Power shaft basically a lighter nunchuk?

Maxima and I didn't get along either. Was hitting monster long pushes, followed by hooks when I tried to compensate.

But I am curious about this shaft, as it goes where I have gone in recent years toward light weight. Is the shaft sold separately?

So interesting that Ryoma is using Takeshi Kitano to market their clubs. It's actually funny to me. Is this a regular marketing practice in Japan? I've seen a few of his movies. I can't imagine him smashing golf balls with that driver - human heads, yes.

Best all around head so far. I put in a regular Purple Oban Kiyoshi tipped half inch (100-105SS) and this thing is straight as an arrow with very little dispersion. You can feel a nice kick to it as well. I've tried Crazy, Diamana, Attas, and Tour Ad dI6, and none of those shaft works in the Maxima head.

When are hybrids available?

What is it made of.

Where is the preprep from

Who does the weave

How many axis

How much coin?

******I'd be really interested if 7D has the D1 and Maxima in their club head specific design data.******

I swing a bit over 100 and the 65SX FEX was a hook monster for me too until I tipped it a bit. The Quadras generally are very tip active and play soft to flex. I'd try tipping it half an inch.

Samples are on the way to me of both Beyond Power & new Ryoma U lofts.

I've already added new Ryoma U lofts to the proshop listing.

I have a Ryoma Type G 10.5 with Basileus AAA 2013 flex-S, I have no problem at all, not much hook, quite forgiving to me even bad shot doesnt seems punished me that much. Still loving it. :)
