Hopefully chiromikey might chime in here on driver length.

We all might learn something

Lol, my specs are so crazy that nobody is willing to experiment to those extremes...and I can't say that I blame them! My results work for me though. :)

i think its beceause........................

the vast majority of clubs in japan are built for palyers in japan that are terribel golfers and only want to hit it long to say hey i hit 250.

they cant do that with 44 inch drivers in a milion years

remebering gof is NOT a sport , its a meeting on a golf course.

so 47 inch 184 gram drivers abound!!!

that why my builder is such a wizard, gettitng one of these head to perfom at 44.5 takes imagination and skill.

90% of golfers here, id guess... cant hit the ball over 90mph.

short drivers DONT exist at all.

the common length is now 45.25 -45.5 inch.

its gettign hard to find 45!

ive got a 46.5 inch shingo driver and iahve t choke down 2 inch to hold it, it goes beautifuul, in winter , i hardly use anyhting else, but it takes such an effort to bag it, its just looks wrong

There handicap average in the states is much higher :)

It's not hard at all to bring the T388 to 202g, just takes the right type of melt.

On a side note I do not suggest the A-Grind driver, it's a bitch to hit and doesn't feel very good all around. I'm sure foamed is a different story.

Guess all I sayin is if you are gona play a driver at 44 and want Dswing weights then the 388 isnt an easy option.

That doesn't mean to say it is not possible by a good builder and some creative tinkering.

Dont we all play this game and buy all this gear to dream the impossible dream.

I aint a good player by any stretch, but I love the game and the toys, especially the 388, it just doesn't like me ;)

stew, can you elaborate on the right type of melt for the 388? I've got one slathered with lead tape right now and would consider sending it to the right place to get that head weight up to 202g. PM/email if more appropriate, thx hombre!

Want to know about hot melt too. I checked with my local (very professional one) club builder and he said if melted metal is inserted into the head (can only go into heel section), it would make that driver draw bias.

Hot melt can go anywhere but it's easier with an open head design or if there are weight ports. It's simply a specific type of glue from a hot glue gun injected into the head the allowed to settle then dry in a selected area depending on where the player/builder wants it.

Get ultra light shaft with light grip then 44" on t388 maybe doable.

A heavier shaft will actually be easier to achieve higher swing weight provided that the shaft is not counterbalanced.

Lighter grip ( around 25g ) can and does help tremendously to bring up swingweight.

i know a local guy to us who can do it (not me). it'll change the sound and feel though.

u can go through the hosel. there's a plug that can be removed and then you can get into the t388 head. i know bc the head I just got was missing the plug.

Lol, I heard that was missing. My 435 hosel doesn't have a plug either but it also has 3 weight ports to make it really easy to position the hot melt.

Think the nunchuk is heavy in the but, so usually a 100g + shaft would help with SW but don't think the nunchuk does.

We checked the profile out yesterday and it is nothn like a std shaft, one shaft fits all.

Mikey is right the hot melt can be placed anywhere in the head, that's why I suggested toe placement with tip weight limiting the effect on bias.

If I remember I think the 388 has a weight placement in the inside heel as std for face back to square.

Like I said not a pro though so I could be wrong. 25g grip will also help.
