+TourSpecGolfer
Sanki Planarian Golf Shafts. We have been testing these for a very long time trying to figure out if they are worth the high price and how the options, specs, and finishes will play out on for our members. A couple of members already have these to compare with 7D shafts as they are comparable in price and these are also hand made and hand finished one by one. Good news is we are adjusting some of their designs to make a series of 3 new shafts. Here's the thing these shafts are currently Non-Conforming. From what I understand both the USGA & R&A feel adding exterior elements to the shaft can cause increased distance. Good news is we are working on conforming version with Sanki that does not have those little notches going up and down the shaft. I personally will play the Non-Conforming version. Stay Tuned and if any of the other testers want to share their feedback go ahead and do so.

300Yards
As you said the price is similar, so do they also go through the detail fitting?
+TourSpecGolfer
who on earth has got these yet ???? Only 2, I'll let them out themselves. As you said the price is similar, so do they also go through the detail fitting? No fitting system is in place yet, I will provide an update as soon the new shaft samples are being made. Spoon
What makes a shaft non-conforming? i know a guy that has one of these shafts:) no surprise he is an active member here as well
tae
I guess I'll come out first. This is an awesome shaft. Beautiful to look at and play. Looks very very different from 7D. But they play very similar though. Not boardy at all, anti right, mid high trajectory, consistent, and Long!!!!!! Currently on ryoma maxima. I played maxima with cb46, bangvoo, trpx air.... and find sanki the longest. Can't say which one is longer between sanki and 7d because I never played 7d on ryoma. However, I can say this combo is as long as 435 black 7d combo. It's nonconforming..... I didn't know :( I guess I can't play this for local tourney but don't mind keeping it for recreational use. Highly recommended!!!!

Vegaman
I think they are non-conforming because they aren't "round"? The surface must be smooth/uniform. I think I have read years ago something about a shaft being oval and thus having lower wind resistance, also making it non-conforming
Undaunted
It's a sweet looking shaft! Keep us updated on when they may go on sale here.

+TourSpecGolfer
tae, did you try this year's AAA? or can anyone who's tried this sanki and AAA compare the two? It depends on what model Sanki shaft we compare it against, but I will go over those next week including materials and what Sanki is willing to divulge and what they are not. In general I think AAA plays lower, straighter, with less feel because the Sanki's in all the specs feel really good. My best results came from a flex and weight I normally don't play. I did a test with about 7 of their shafts all in Kamui Pro drivers, it was a fun day. Yes Vegaman is correct it's because they are not smooth and round. Only what we are calling the Bamboo Series will have those notches making them non conforming. Sorry Tae, Sanki just told us about this because they just got confirmation from the USGA & R&A supposedly.
tae
Yes I do have aaa AAA plays more boardy compare to sanki. Maybe it's because I got sanki distance spec?and aaa trajectory is lower and produce more roll. I do like aaa but I'm sticking to 7d and sanki for now. tae, did you try this year's AAA? or can anyone who's tried this sanki and AAA compare the two? tae
Sopo They both are really long...... But subtle difference would be trajectory. I have 7d on 435 black. Considering 435 black is low mid launching head, I still get high trejectiry with 7d. Sometime it's scary to look at cause it won't come down for a long time lol Sanki is on ryoma.... and as you know ryoma is high launching head. But ryoma and sanki combo produce mid high ball flight... Still lower than 7d 435 black combo. I see myself using sanki on windy day and 7d on wet land?? They both are distance spec. Same price. But what Chris is working on sanki could be cheaper..... because my sanki was custom made. Let me know if you wanna know more about sanki. cheers Tae. of al the onscure thingsi see, im still to see one of these yet. cant bel my builder doent have them. i love the look of the shaft its like bamboo. ill ask again when u had a few more rounds which u prefer over tI guess I'll come out first. This is an awesome shaft. Beautiful to look at and play. I would say this is more ancient plays similar to 7D distance spec.as bad boy look I have it on ryoma maximahe 7d. and what the subltle differences are. chiromikey
Tae, I'd love to hear more about your thoughts between the 7D and Sanki. If Sanki doesn't do fittings, what level of customization is available and how is it achieved? And what exactly did you specify besides distance?
